I first set foot in Arroyo in. 1975, and stayed in the El Mirador hotel. Since then I have been back hundreds of times.So far this year have been there twice, and I am out again next week. Hard to think but Arroyo looks like it has been there forever.Apart from the Main Square little is original. Though the train station was there it didn't look as it does today. The church was also there. and a few other places. Over that last forty years it has grown and grown. One thing though about Arroyo it is a wonderful place to holiday. So convenient for everywhere. It has a al really good selection of bars and restaurants, none of which could be described as expensive. The people there are mostly Spanish, very friendly, hospitable and welcoming. Yes there are plenty of British and other Europeans as well. They tend to be older and in the main very civilised. To my mind Arroyo is possibly the best place on the Costas to stay. It has everything. If you want to chill stay in Arroyo, the the beach it is a 20 minute walk away, if you want a bit of honky tonk, it's down towards the beach, if you like boats it has a World class marina.Thanks to whoever made this video. Well done.
