You are an amazing guide through this process. Enthusiastic, clear, little tips to avoid big problems, thorough. Well done, I hope many people, find their way to your channel. We are both educators and we’re struck by your teaching skills. Thank you.

Maybe the angle makes it look like you mounted the rubber gasket to the top of the sink. The rubber goes under the sink, then the gasket then the nut. Use plumbers putty between the top of the sink and the drain or silicone if you prefer. Then reason you don't put the rubber gasket on top is it makes your drain sink proud and water will not completely drain. Let the silicone squeeze out and dry and then cut it off neatly if you use silicone. I also like to run a generous bead of silicone on the sink lip where it meets the counter to prevent water that is spilled on the counter from destroying the counter top. It also glues it in place. I like the job you are doing, everyone else makes cabinets which is rather difficult if that is not something you have not done before.

Please tell me you ran a bead of silicone caulking underneath the lip edge of the sink on the Formica counter top, to prevent water from seeping under the edge and dripping down on your refrigerator!

That sink looks great! You chose a size that is small enough to fit, but big enough to be sufficiently functional.
Did you try stuffing your head in the sink? That is where you will be washing your face, so don’t want to crash into the upper cabinet.
I trust you put caulking under the rim.
That giant hole in the back of the cabinet should help ventilate the refrigerator.
    Nice work!

Thanks and yes I have stuffed my head in the sink, it's a tight fit but the high riser really makes a big difference. Have not tried the hair washing yet but that should be an adventure. The face washing works great. I made sure I would not bang my head on the cabinet so moved the sink quite far forward which made a nice bit of room behind it. I need to caulk the rim, that could be a water damage issue if I forget. I was thinking the same thing about the fridge ventilation.

Nice little sink. But. Pots are round, most plates are round, cups are round, glasses are round, bowls will, you know. Who came up with the idea that a square sink is the way to go?

True! As well as washing your hair in the sink. Round would be better.
