- It’s been a while but I am glad to be back! I have missed this and what a great way to return! Here is my review of Resident Evil: The Board Game. This game means a lot to me. It was a big part of my teenage years and I hope you enjoy the story I share with you in the video (see timestamps in the pinned comment below under: Quick Story).
Like I mentioned, I really did miss this. While in my board game room playing, writing and making this review, I noticed something, I really like doing this. This is MY passion project (this channel) and I LOVE this hobby, I LOVE sharing my thoughts with you all and I LOVE reading your comments and your thoughts. What a special hobby and I’m glad to be a part of it!

Thank you for the support and for stopping by even though I haven’t been able to upload any content for the last few months. I’m still here and I still love this hobby! I had such a good time making this review and while I was making it, I kept thinking about how much this passion project means to me. I really like doing this and I really enjoy sharing my thoughts with each and every one of you!

This is also my favorite series and I was wondering about one of the board games, because when I was a kid I tried to make such a game on paper, inspired by RE2. There was also a deck-building game based on RE, which interested me, but unfortunately it is not available in Poland now
I hope you are able to get your hands on the game one day. Considering you have been a fan of RE since you were a kid, I think you would love it!
I wonder which RE game might be the best right now? Because looking at the components, I am quite skeptical. Although I remember when I was equally skeptical about the game J.I.Joe Dbg. But after your review I decided to try it, and fell in love with this game, having unforgettable moments from playing it. So now I always seriously consider your reviews
@@wieslawgawron3838 I haven’t played RE2: The Board Game but between RE3 and RE, I think it would be safe if you went with whichever RE you like the most. Personally, I think this one (RE) is the better of the two and it’s based on the RE I liked the most out of the two. RE2 was my favorite RE game followed by RE and then RE4. RE3 was never my favorite RE game, although I still enjoyed it.
So far, I’ve gotten everything for the G.I. Joe: DBG. I still think it’s a great deck-builder and I’m looking forward to the upcoming expansion which should release this month. I’ve enjoyed every expansion, so far.

Great review. I was able to keep the insert, but I made some modifications. It was pretty bad otherwise. This is such a fun adaptation.
Thanks! I had modified RE3’s insert but it was just easier for me to get rid of the insert this time. There are a lot of cards to keep track of and it really helps with the setup and teardown. This is a great adaption of RE!
Thank you for your stellar review, and for your recommendation some months back! So glad you recommended Resident Evil! This is my go to board game--I'm making it through the scenario book, playing them as one-offs. I barely survive, but I'm having fun. This is now #3 on my favorite board games of all time.
Btw--I sadly threw away the insert which houses the minis, there wasn't any room for the tiles and that insert. Also, the door tiles are ridiculously dark and hard to notice. I used the door tiles from my copy of Marvel Zombies, and this worked great.
**The icon looking like a crack with squiggley lines is an open arched doorway, for anyone not finding that in the rulebook!!

I knew you would like it! Yeah, that insert was pretty bad. Storing the game with all of the different cards has to be a nightmare when it comes to setup. Organizing the cards helps a lot!
So far both of the RE games I’ve played have been great! I think this one edges out RE3, though. I’m glad you’ve been enjoying it.

Man that unlimited storage box, that’s what I need for my home with all these boardgames! 😂 and we both got a shipment from Skytear coming in a month or so I think hahaha! It was nice to have you upload your new video tonight cuz it gave me a nice break from tidying up my home these few days. I basically took all my stuff down from shelves and put everything on the floor to reorganize and SOMEHOW I managed to make like 3 or 4 cubic foot of space!!! I don’t know how I did it but it is much needed!! For your video, you made great choices in the selections from Resident Evil, took me back what 30, 40 years!! That first zombie turning its head while we interrupted its meal, LOL, like you said, iconic!!!

Just an FYI, tinkering paws does an excellent insert for all 3 Resident Evil board games and they will hold all expansions in just 2 or 3 boxes

What kind of sleeves do you use for your cards? I had a hard time trying to find a good fit for these
I had to cut my sleeves for the small cards. I couldn’t find the perfect fit, either.
I had the same story.. I ended up dying the first time I played resident evil on the original playstation because of no memory card!! I got up to the shark tank and I died.
You got a lot farther than me without a memory card! Those memories of playing RE still stick with me. For some reason, when I hear certain songs, it reminds me of those moments. RE2 release a month after I beat RE and I had one of the best times in gaming when I was a teenager because of those games.
I had to add one more thing. That’s why I included this intro for the review. It was a throwback to playing RE back in the day.

They’re on the expensive side but I’ve used them for other games that use doors, as well. Hope this helped!
Oh, I forgot to mention my own memory card story!! You didn’t have a memory card for the first week. For me, I bought a memory card. Or so I thought!! You could save onto it, everything seems fine, but you can’t load anything!! I thought my system had a problem or something but no, it was a FAKE MEMORY CARD!! I didn’t even know fake hardware was even a thing back then in my naivety!! And the worst was not only you lost money buying the crap but you THOUGHT you had saved your hard earned progress ESPECIALLY when this was the first game I ever encountered SAVE POINTS!!! Frickin’ typewriter tapes! I had never played a game before that you couldn’t just save Willy Nilly! Man, the stuff we have to put up with playing games LOL and now we are all into this board game thing where we need to read a textbook before we can play 😂😂😂 or watch a video training series 😂😂😂
Before memory cards, I remember writing down 16-character-long passwords on paper and taking forever to input it in the password screen.
That had to stink getting a fake memory card. I don’t remember exactly how much memory cards used to cost but I remember them being expensive. Those days were the best, experiencing the evolution of video games.
@@SoloBoardGamingKnight oh yes you are right! We had to write down codes for saved progress haha. Yeah the memory card scam was a real bummer for me back in the day! They were not cheap!

These RE board games are way too overpriced..
Definitely give it a try whenever you find a good deal for it. Resident Evil fans will love this!
Not compared to like x wing miniatures or magic the gathering or anything pokemon. What about even the cheapest gaming device with the best resident evil deal say you find a Nintendo switch for 100 bucks a good find and then a deal on a resident evil game for 7.99 you still wouldn't get as many hours or memories for the same price or last 20 years and still work enough. Think about it they will have some dumb digital form of it in the future but will require a dedicated financial dependence and subscription with whatever current platform your now using surly only good for only 2 to 3 years before updating. In the long run it is a way better investment especially knowing this will only exist for a time unlike the repackaged digital reboot of the same game the same way over and over again. Just think about it
