In Scandinavian countries, the Yule goat figures into the Christmas decor of many homes. In Norse mythology, the two goats pulled Thor's flying chariot the same way reindeer do for Santa's sleigh. On top of that, there's also a festive tale that focuses on an invisible Yule goat that checks in on holiday prep before the big day. That's why, in 1966, the Gävle Goat was created in an effort to draw shoppers to the Swedish city where it resides. Standing 42.6 feet high and seven meters in length, it also weighs a whopping 3.6 tons. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Will always love this channel no matter who’s doing the talking, always producing amazing content
I still love the fact that people in Japan celebrate Christmas by eating KFC, and it's such a big deal that people have to order food or make reservations weeks or even months in advance.
Yeah, that's insane. Somebody should point out, it's not the feast. it's the fact. And we get none of this right.
Bonus fact: it was actually pretty traditional to tell ghost stories around the Christmas season. Not sure why, but it's something that I wish would come back. Maybe my fellow horror writers and I can make it happen (I may be Jewish, but a scary Christmas sounds great to me).
Also, no mentions of Krampus? Why, Chris, why?
Happy Hanukkah 🕎
Another secret of the pickle thing is: no German has ever heard of it, other than from foreigners (mainly 'muricans) ;-)
Cheers from Germany
Glad to see Chris keeping up the good work on the channel. Cheers mate!
If male reindeers have no antlers, doesn’t that mean Bambi lost his father.
Hey Chris you're doing amazing. I think I noticed at 0:30 there was still a picture of Sam. I wasn't sure if that was intentional. Stay Awesome Friend
I keep my decorations up until the Epiphany (Three Kings Day). By then I'm pretty much over Christmas and ready to start thinking toward Valentine's Day, lengthening days, and (eventually) better temperatures, though winter's just getting into fully swing by then. I'm just not a winter person.
we miss Sam's voice.
As for the playing card one. You got it slightly wrong. The cards didnt suddenly appear when w3t. Actually what happened was that when put under water, due to the type of glue used, the cards split apart and a part 9f a map was r3vealled. These map parts could be joined together to produce a full map.
I love 101 facts.
Also, first.

red robin symbolizing postmen is untrue, as the red robin can be found on Christmas cards dating back to the 1870's, way before the iconic red look.
2:40 We should return to tradition. Tradition is good but only if it involves any soup-like dishes of the mouthwatering variety.
