Sukhoi is bad ass, Ug has quite the arsenal for battle. Unless things have changed they were the only East African country with SAF missile launchers. Having been in battle for longer than Kenya it is expected they have made steps to improve their mission capabilities, before invasion of Somalia in 2011 KDF was in all honesty a career military unit, zero aggression

Those helicopters dot have spares: they break down and sit for months waiting for spares since they were acquired back door in shady deals from poorly supported Eastern European/ former soviet countries. So they are barely used except for show. It’s a sad fact. For an African country buying a serviceable warrantied aircraft is one very evasive thing, buying an old one is another different thing. And buying an aircraft model old and not currently supported by the manufacturer one is another. But buying an aircraft which manufactured went out of business in the early 90s is even deadlier. Especially if the purchase was meant to camouflage corruptible strategies. Inside story is that half of the Kenyan military machinery are broken down and hence used as parts to service the other half which are barely serviceable. And this is a very inside story. And by the way did you hear about he helicopters kenya police bought from Russia not many years ago? Do you know that two years later they put about 2 on a ship and sent to Russia to be overhauled and rebuilt because they didn’t have the technology, knowledge and parts to keep them in the air? Some parts needed to be machines and made because they were no longer available in serviceable condition to be acquired for use on the helicopters. And I don’t think hey are back yet but the story is that they paid about 6 million dollars a piece when those things are all over Eastern Europe decommissioned and being auctioned for about 40,000 USD. So who is the fool? The KDF cannot stand against any military in East Africa. It’s the weakest and least experienced leave alone the unfitness and bureaucracy that is sandwiched within. It’s the only military where soldiers sleep when they go to war in Somali and forget to keep guard. It’s the only military where you are employed mostly because you are thought to fit in with a particular group of people. Promotions are not by merit but by grandfathering. People ride from private to captain. Corporal to major bu presidential appointments. It’s a shame.
