Milroe sounds like a Great Teammate but I’d be surprised if he’s the starting QB by mid season. He doesn’t see the field well enough and quick enough to play the Wash style offense. I’d be shocked if Austin Mack isn’t your starter the next 3 years.
Bo Schembechler said you don’t know how good the recruits really are until you see them practice with the Team. DeBoer has seen Mack for an entire year, that’s all you need to know. He’s the Real Deal!
Milroe is a good runner but you got to have a good passer when you face better defenses.

I think there should be a 1 month grace period with a coach change,In order to let the coach get his staff together and to give the kids a chance to know who there coaches will be,probably would stop a lot of poaching

The craziest thing is we had Julian Sayin signed to play in a Tommy Rees offense that doesn’t fit him. Then after Saban left we hired a coach that system is perfect for Sayin and he transferred. Julian Sayin had the potential to be better than penix in this new system.

A lot more to it. They admitted they as a family always rooted against Alabama and didn’t like them. But they fell in love with Coach Saban.
Secondly Sayin played in a more multiple set offense, with emphasis on the pro style offense. So no, the Air Raid was not better for him. That being said Ohio St. isn’t really the system for him either.
But Austin Mack is definitely set up for the Air Raid and has been practicing and running the system for a year at Washington.
Austin Mack is gonna be a stud guys. Also, I think what Ole Miss has done the last few years is our floor with Coach DeBoer. I think we'll do much better, but he Kiffin is showing what you can do with a good offense and average defense. I think our offense will be far above average.
You make a decent point and with an offense that scores 40 points a game you can have a less than elite defense. Still that is not the goal or strategy. I'm sure coach Deboer is very committed to have the best defense possible.
What Ole Miss has done doesn't need to be our floor. Our floor needs to be what Ohio St does.

Sayin is from CA. DeBoer had a chance to scout him in that region. Sayin is small and doesn’t fit DeBoer player type for the offense.
I've seen this kid play in person. He's a beast. He will be a star under Grubbs offense.

He never played his senior year because he graduated early reclassified and went to collegea year early.. He would have been a top 3 QB if he actually played his senior year. He was 17 years old at Washington. Do your self a favor abd CZcams his high school highlights.
My kid graduated from Folsom, seen Mack play most of his games against the toughest competition in northern Cali. He reads defenses fast and has a quick release with a strong arm. He’ll be fine.
I think Ty Simpson would start before Mack he can definitely spin the ball.. possibly the most accurate passer with the quickest release of the bunch
I think he can start . So much better passer than Millroe and can run also. Austin Mack I haven't seen so I can't say but if they got him from Washington then there's something to him.

If you really are as good as everyone is telling you then prove it. Do not leave because of competition . I've watched Jalen for 3 years and he still can't read a defense? Is he a great leader, absolutely is he a great athlete, absolutely but, I don't think he's going to the NFL with his limited skill set!!! I think Bama has dropped the ball by not moving him to Slot or safety or even RB!

I love the fans who spout some doomsday prediction and then say, "That's just a fact".....well, here's an actual fact for you: the dictionary defines a "fact" as; something that has actual existence; an actual occurrence; a thing done. Let's do an example, here's a fact - Alabama hired Coach DeBoer as the head coach when Coach Saban retired; here's an opinion - Coach DeBoer is not going to get this team in the playoffs next year. We throw around the word "fact" almost as much as we do the word "amazing" lol....with that said - you guys truly have done an amazing job during this transition and I appreciate it (which is a fact!!)

I just reviewed Nick Saban’s first recruiting class (2007). Ranked #12 which turned out to be absurdly overrated. Only 9 of the 29 signees saw any significant playing time. I’m confident DeBoer’s first class will be significantly better than Nick’s actually performed!
Yep...Saban came in when Alabama had been on probation for 3 years....and that was because a dumb kid talked to a recruiter in a bar. EVERY player on our team was punished...dreams were crushed because of him. Our program had been struggling with B list coaches for a while...then, probation and loss of scholarships. We hardly had any players.

I like checking in with Luke & Jimmy to see what’s going on at other Historic Top Programs outside my region (Ohio State).
I would have never guessed that I’d need to tune in to Locked On BAMA to know what’s going on at Ohio State
, but I do.
1) Bill O’Brien our new OC, that was a Shock for us today!
2) Julian Sayin may want to follow BO’B to Columbus now. 3) Would that cost us Air Noland? I like Air Noland’s ceiling but BO’B will be the likely decision maker. Supposedly Ohio State having a staff meeting Saturday to determine whether or not to pursue Sayin now.
4) Ohio State likely to pursue OT Kayden Proctor although not well connected to him. They feel they are 1 OT away from Natty in 2024, so his NIL offer may be big time.
5) Either UGA or Ohio State likely to get Caleb Downs. I assume you’re rooting for Ohio State on that one, although UGA may win that. Probably know by Saturday. 6) Also we’ve got your Center from last year. Hopefully he improves his snaps against Michigan next year.

@@KTLocsta I'm speculating just as you are. But say Milroe and Simpson did transfer, which isn't a stretch if they'd been beat out by a true freshman. That would have left us with Lonergan, Holstein, and Buchner as the qbs. And the talk all last year until the mid to later part of the season was, is Saban loyal to default with Milroe. And it sure the hell was an abrupt retirement after the Michigan game. But back to the a day game. What did you see that led you to believe Milroe was the answer? If Milroe wouldn't have hit Benson 5 times in a row on his last drive, against 3rd stringers and walk-ons, he would've finished 14 of 32 with 1 td. Lonergan was 8 of 14 with 1 TD, as an early enrollee. Again unless it's coming out of Saban s mouth, it's all speculation.
@@philw8265 during the A Day game I was worried about Milroe starting. I didn’t think Lonergan looked a whole lot better, but he did look better. A few things, first off there have been so many times I’ve seen QB’s in the A Day games and thought to myself that guy is terrible, we are in trouble with this guy, or this guy looks great and very rarely has it played out with whoever looked great in the A Day game ended up being the man. Secondly I felt like Milroe’s improved a whole lot throughout the season. If he progresses that same rate, along with his athleticism I think he could be a solid QB for Alabama.
As far as Saban I just don’t think he’s lied to the fans. Or the kids. I honestly believe it was exactly like what he said. I think he was just worn out. For the first time flat out exhausted. He said he’s always been able to say stay up to 2am watching film, game planning and be up at 6am and be fine. I think these last few years, especially this year he was physically just tired.
Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe there is more to it. But coaching is exhausting. I can’t even imagine what it’s like with that type of pressure and at that age.

Common Jimmy, LSU was a MESS when Orgeron quit. By contrast Bama was a hair from going to the Natty with probably the most talented roster and recruiting class in all of CFB. Deboer's top priority should have been to retain all that talent Saban accumulated. Instead, in a mere week, this buffoon has managed to decimate it!
Well, looks as if DeBoer has his own ideas and, obviously, he had his own staff and players. When he took the job...we got the package deal. I'm not saying that is wrong...he does need people that know ( or are able and WILLING to learn) his style of football. But, dang. Alabama wasn't trash staff and players. If they can learn the new style quickly...then THEY should stay and be utilized. Our staff/team is NOT inferior to Wa.
Try looking at you feet picking the snap off the grass and then standup and read the defense after missing the fist three quarters of a second. Milroe will crush it with a great center that can snap the ball.

Penix was a 3 ⭐ and almost won the Heisman. Jordan Love was a low 3 ⭐ and replaced Aaron Rogers at Green Bay. A ⭐ rating doesn't guarantee success.

I don't think deboer will be a huge step down from 2023.. he will be a step down from Saban's first 14 years at Alabama but his last 2-3 years should be about what we expect.. those last 2 Alabama teams wasn't really sabans best years.. i think Deboer can match 2022/2023 or better if he has the talent

Alabama is always best when it is a strong TEAM. Everyone buys in all doing their part, giving they're all. Alabama had good QB's and a great team and won the national championahip because they were all playing together great. They have had great QB'S and 5 stars in many positions and lost 1 or 2 games.
That was before certain players started getting these huge amounts of money. Why would the unpaid players put their all into it for no money and no glory? NIL has destroyed college football...just as it was intended to do.
