Mike has been playing the guitar since he was 12 years old, and from that first moment his love affair with music and the instrument began. Fresh out of school at the age of 16 he attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and completed a year-long Diploma course.
After finishing the ACM his life as a full time musician began, playing in numerous bands and touring up and down the country playing iconic venues such asThe Shepherds Bush Empire, The Astoria, The Underworld and London’s Jazz Café. He’s also been fortunate enough to support industry legends Paul Weller, Blondie and Katie Melua.
Mike’s session work has led to his working on a variety of projects - from performing with stars such as Ricky Wilson and Diana Vickers, to appearing in many TV shows and adverts. Mike loves being on stage performing, but is equally at home recording in a studio - where he has worked with Alex Von Soos (All Saints, Seal, Atomic Kitten), Mike Horner (The Prodigy, Shakira, Bloc Party), and Mike Chapman (Blondie, Suzi Quatro)

I have that same looper pedal and it makes playing in time a bit more enjoyable because it isn’t just a boring tick tock. I really enjoy watching you create a cool loop and play over it!! Keep up the great work Mike!! Cheers!!!

I've always found it hard to find a good balance between too many layers and too little: I don't want to have 15 loops going (it'll sound too crowded), but two loops are kinda boring at times. I just love using a loop pedal to play chord progression so that I can improve my improvising. Great video as always Mike!

    Oi oi
3 months ago i bought a guitar, classical, then an acoustic, then electric - only every did the acoustic campfire stuff as a youngster - haven't played frages. But, anyway, got so into some you great teachers ideas in tht time (been playing every day around 5 hours) learned a hundred songs (not nailed), went mental bought the mooer ge200 cos no loopers about here in china (my old). why I picked up Michale jackson song beats me - hated him in the 80's (smiths smiths smiths, charming - you need to do a johnny marr thing); anyway - saw you do billie jean ( I failed to imitate, though one loop and a dub works ok - aint easy for sure to time it all in one shot). BUT, a mate is into south american (spanish sounding) hip hop - sent me a song, I figured this is him singing over a n d with minor vibe but nothing too structured, blimey, a hip hop builds and builds layers easily and sounds great the kids are confused by too many notes so you can hit a lick all over the neck, do your percussion ting n that- to give it the spanish kick I went for harmonic a minor. s good fun, hip hops a doddle for any half way guitar player. Def something i'll work on, scitching a rap should be a doddle too compared to actual song writing.
Now wats all that electric drill stuff about then?
Like the gilmour ting tho, cant comment there though - useful to see (nice to know what keys you do the thing things in son, nice if we could know.
    Tra x

Awesome, I happen to be comparing dedicated loopers now because the built-in in my multipedal has limitations that I don't like. That just may be my dad's Cherry ES-335 he sold in 1986? Did you happen to trade a tent or a ladder for it? Anyway, I posted a short shoutout and link to you in my newest upload, btw! */w\SlayeriZer/w\*

Get the vox lil looper if you want the best quality cheap one. It has two channels and is pretty much the same as boss rc 30 apart from you cannot save loops and it’s cheap. I got mine for 60 from eBay quality is great runs off batteries or power supply. Pretty much I’m now a vox loop guy.
