  • Can we fight aging with a hyperbaric chamber?
There's been a lot of information put out there on using hyperbaric oxygen to reverse the aging process. But what does science say? Is hyperbaric oxygen a tool for anti-aging?
First off, I don't love the idea of “anti-aging” in the first place.
We're all going to age. We're all getting older. And the longer we're on this planet, the better!
I think a better question is how can we maintain our quality of life as long as possible throughout the aging process?
It seems like as a whole, people in our society are breaking down prematurely.
We’re living longer, but our quality of life hasn’t necessarily kept pace with that. If our quality of life peaks at 60 and we live another 20 or 30 years, what can we do to prevent a 20 or 30 year decline to poor health and poor quality of life?
Can we use the hyperbaric chamber to extend our quality of life?
In this video we’ll discuss why I believe we can fight aging with a hyperbaric chamber.

*I really appreciated this video - thanks a lot. I'm wondering how HBOT can be used in conjunction with exercise & diet, to best fight aging. I realize that all these things each contribute to fighting aging, but I'm wondering how they can be coordinated with each other, for optimal effect.*

      You're welcome!!
It's tough to give specific answers since everyone is different and has different needs, but overall it's safe to say that giving our bodies clean sources of energy play a huge part in enhancing our quality of life. HBOT paired with healthy lifestyle (eating well and exercising) is a powerful recipe for helping us live our best lives. You can always reach out to us at support@hbotusa.com

Regarding what you covered in this video - would it apply to both mHBOT and hard chamber HBOT alike?

In theory yes… many of hyperbaric's effects are likely to be able to be applied across a range of pressures. That said we currently have no research to support that yet so the best we can say is higher pressure is the only absolute way to get these benefits. Hopefully the research I am currently doing will help better develop the role of a soft chamber's ability to impact the anti-aging space.

Is there a limit to the amount of time spent in a hyperbaric chamber or the number of sessions per day? And at what atmosphere? I hear 2 and I hear 3 atmospheres. Can too long start to have adverse side effects

Thanks for the question! Yes there is absolutely too much and this can cause oxygen toxicity, among other things.
More is not better and the actual answer completely depends on the pressure, the percentage of oxygen they are breathing, and what issue they are trying to resolve. So there is no simple yes/no answer to this.
You should really consult with someone to better understand your particular goals and history to best design a plan for you. We're happy to help with that, if you'll email us at support@hbotusa.com.

@@HBOTUSA I am looking at hyperbaric for telomere repair and extension. I have young children and am older. I would like to spend as much time with them as I can

I am currently in the treatment phase, 5 days a week at 2ATA. I’m curious to what a general maintenance protocol looks like. I was thinking of 2 to 3 treatments per week, 2ATA for an hour at pressure with maybe an air gap in the middle.

Maintenance schedules can vary dramatically in my opinion based on what the goals are
We have used a range if schedules from 1 or 2 a month to 1-2 per week.
Allowing your body to have a break after the initial protocol to settle in and then trying a few different frequencies to see which feels most supportive to you is a good place to start.
More importantly look for a few opportunities throughout the year to do a 20-30 more intense protocol. Those boosts will typically lead to bigger changes in overall health.
      Hope that helps.

Well I disagree, I want to live healthy for as long as I can, hundreds of years or more! If you don't like it, tough!
