When I posted my video, that kinda set this discussion off, I didn't intend it as an 'investigation' of GBs, not at all. It was about my shame of not completing builds when I have entered a GB, especially if it is an appreciation build. It was about something that I struggle with as it might portray that I don't care when in fact it plays on my mind. There aren't too many GBs, why? Because you don't have to enter any of them, not a one. People creating GBs do it as they have an idea or particular interest and they think that like minded people may want to come along for the ride. That's all they are. And you are right, GBs do help in so many ways, for so many reasons. I would like to get in on your GB as it is a bit different and therefore interesting, but will have to see. 👍👍😉
Ahhh, I was wondering were this discussion started 😃. Seriously, I'm really glad you did post your video since it brought up some excellent points. I think we often times overload ourselves because we want a little stress in our lives. (oh man i'm getting deep) And being that GB's have a due date it pushes us in a fun way. Ive stayed up till 1:00 getting a GB done when I knew I had to work in the morning. DId I really have to? Heck no, but I really wanted to meet that deadline! hahahahah

I totally agree with you on gb's and model building being a form of art. I'm looking forward to the Road Warrior/ Mad Max build! Great opportunity to weather and beat up a model car!😊

Same here Ron. There are just to many but I still love to see what people come up with even if I dont have the time to join myself.
Absolutely it is an art form. I agree with you anout the group builds pushing you to do better, but i also think just having a CZcams channel does that too. If you're putting your stuff out there for people to see i think you'll try harder to do nice work. Although some of my work is better than my previous work, sometimes it doesn't turn out like i planned but its all good and all fun.

Yes it's art. Even if you build box stock with rattle can paint. This past usacc gb was my first and i liked it a lot. Watching the vids was great even though i doubt that I've seen half of them. Imagine being at a contest with a bunch of tables with just one vehicle. Yes, i would love to enter them all but there's that pesky thing called life and all it's obligations. So I'll enter more, but no more than what i think i can handle

There are a lot of them for sure. I don't care for them, so I don't follow or participate in them.
I'm the same way about "live" videos that consist of several people sitting around talking. They just do not interest me.
The single-person "live" videos where they provide tips, show how-tos, and answer questions are far more interesting and engaging to me.
