@@krsynx Herlock Sholmes has been a potential fix for a while. I'm guessing another issue simply has to do with the fact it didn't sell as well in Japan bc Phoenix wasn't in it...

As a Brit I love LOVE the over the top stereotypes! They’re amazing, esp Jezaille Bretts stupid hat which would make even Marie Antoinette facepalm. Also love the care they put into rendering the British locations, you can tell they really cares
the fact that Brett is still wearing her stupid hat even at the beach was honestly hysterical.
That hat is spectacular. The developers had a ton of fun with "ridiculous English hat" and "no, that's not a fake".
".... it's more full of British stereotypes than an episode of "Downton Abbey!" That had me laughing on the floor!

@@Nanaten Jon means a spin-off IN space, not ABOUT it.
They actually have a toggle-able Story Mode that lets you not have to look up something when you get stuck.

@@stupidideabox7784 yup I ended up using it on the last trial of tgaa 1 for just one cross examination ended up missing the entire achievement for that case.never used it after that.

I love this game. Characters are insane, the music is incredible, and it feels good to play a Shu Takumi Ace Attorney game again. Dual Destinies was....unsatisfying. New mechanics are neat, and I appreciate the ability to skip the tutorials in the second game. I know how to examine evidence and do a summation examination, I just finished the first game a day ago, thank you very much Professor Mikotaba and Susato...(although I did miss the emblem on the stupid pen in 2-1...)
While someone has probably pointed this out in the comments, the actual reason that TGAA 1 and 2 took so long to come to the States was because the people who own the copyright to Sherlock Holmes are *super* litigious and Capcom was super scared of a lawsuit. Their workaround? This game never had Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, it has, um...Herlock Sholmes and John Wilson! Which, to be fair, is basically a by the numbers name for Ace Attorney characters.
It's a little more complicated than that as Sherlock Holmes and Watson THE CHARACTERS are in the public domain along with the majority of the Sherlock Holmes stories, BUT there are the last nine stories featuring them that are still under copyright (which does belong to the Conan Doyle Estate) and it is from those last nine stories that a lot of what the modern audience demands from Sherlock Holmes stories as far as the characterization of the two and their friendship is actually sourced from. Also, there was a whole lawsuit about it that actually set the precedent in the US that the copyright on a character exists separately from the stories the character is in, and the character goes public domain once the first story with them in it does (though only as they were in the story/stories in the public domain, and if there's character development in stories still under copyright then that stuff better not show up in your unsanctioned works or you gonna get sued).
All of this only applies to the US. Sherlock Holmes has been public domain in the UK and Canada from 1980 to 1996, and then from 2000 onwards. Apparently the Conan Doyle Estate was able to get a revival of the copyrights that lasted from 1996 to 2000, but generally the UK and Canada don't go in for that Disney-style f*@$-ery.
I can totally understand Capcom just wanting to avoid all of this nonsense and re-naming the characters.
'Far East Enders' is a truly excellent joke, by far my favourite alternative game title I've ever seen. The terrible Cockney accent is the icing on the cake.
Hahaha, this is so relatable. I can’t play the Ace Attorneys games without cheating. It’s always a fun time though.
I do that with most RPG's and point & click games. I reach a boss or puzzle I just can't be beat or figure out, so I say f*** achievements or challenge! And just look up guides or speedruns. I am not a completionist or hard core gamer, I enjoy video games for the same things as any movie, book or tv show, just that I'm in control of how the story progresses.

Yeah, they start as compelling logic puzzles before eventually taking the logic away and mocking you for not doing the elaborate brain gymnastics on how to tell the court what you, yourself, have already figured out.
The OTHER other "court" this franchise should try next: the FAIRY COURT!!! No, seriously, I would be SO down for some ridiculous high-fantasy version of this insane game, wouldn't you?? Adding crazy fae logic & some actual MAGIC into the mix is the only way they could make it even more bonkers than it already is & I'm HERE for it!!!
Time sure flies. Feels like yesterday that honest games said this would never be localized 😂

Just finished the final chapter of the second half of the game just now. Wow what a whirlwind. Characters were fun and well written. Story was intriguing and the music was great. Prolly my fave ace game

He describes so well how I play ace attorney. Easy at first, then just use a walktrough to just read the plot.
You don't even need to look up a walkthrough. The game has a story mode auto player that basically holds your hand.

They are just bragging rights. Really the only award worth getting is the art that you earn when you beat each game.

The reason why it was only released in 2021 is because of Sherlock Holmes, generally the estate of it's author is very protective of its use and it was only recently able to sidestep the rights to the character.
It may have carried weight, but it doesn't seem to be the only reason, especially as the Sherlock Holmes/Herlock Sholmes trick to bypass the Conan Doyle Estate's aggressive policy has already been used a century ago by Maurice Leblanc for Arsène Lupin.
