The Reviver Auto Digital License Plate - www.reviveraut...
/ reviverauto
Looking for a problem that doesn't exist.
I think It will actually solve a lot of problems and help save money.
States will save on metal license plates manufacturing costs.
Each time we sell or trade a car, we have to get rid of the license plate because we cannot use it again. This innovation if implemented well can solve that problem.

Thank you all for your constructive comments.
I did not know that when you sell your car, you could keep the license plates
Now I know. Thank you.
@@Marcoyao nah bruh it's jus gonna be easily for government to track us u stupid n they recycle ♻️ plates thats y u have to return it to dmv
@@Marcoyao you know you can transfer your old plate onto a new vehicle, right?

You can use your old license plate on your new car

There is absolutely no point to this whatsoever. They want $20 a month for something you don't need on top of all the other fees you have to pay the DMV
Not buying anything that wants me to pay monthly for a product, not a service
$24.95/month subscription here in Michigan now
It’s just under 1000 dollars... but... it’s “really cool” 😂 I really thought he would say something to justify the price tag.
It's cheaper now
These kinds of plates can be useful since they can display things. Imagine having it display a parking pass for a parking lot, your car gets stolen change the plate to stolen. Renew your tabs and it's displayed immediately.
@@MyAramil If a car is stolen, the thief wouldnt be an idiot, and would just use other plates and discard these, surely?
So if you need a front license plate like you definitely doing California both plates will cost you $2,000 correct?
Nah just put your metal one in the front if they ever give you a fix it ticket
The answer to a question that no one asked. A hugely expensive device to replace something that costs literally cents to manufacture. One rear-end collision and this overpriced thing is obliterated.. The car is burned or rolls into a lake, and when it's found the license number can no longer be read - vs. an embossed metal plate which remain legible for decades, even after a fire or being submerged underwater.
The plate is warrantied against that. Reviver auto will replace the plate at no cost to the owner if it is damaged in an accident.
My Tesla Adventure Good to know that they replace the plate at no cost. Does that include installation?
@@MyTeslaAdventure How many accidents can I have to always receive a free $1000 replacement device?
It's called "Luxury". Not necessary but cool if you can afford it...🤷♂️
Does this allow the user to bypass CA HOV stickers and show some sort of symbol for CHP to recognize it's an HOV vehicle? Maybe a 2nd video on that would be nice...
yes
Out of All the days I search this video today and it’s the 5 year anniversary of this video
These are a pain in the ass to install. Just did one on my company work van and had to run 45 ft of wire from the fuse block all the way through the wire loom and into the rear access door 😅
Definitely something that will never be found on my vehicles, short of being required by law. Just another money grab IMO.
You got that right. I was also wondering if the plate can rat you out when you're speeding to the police because of geo tracking.
@@993mike I'm sure they have all kinds of plans, or "features" for this thing
It’s really cool but too expensive. Prisoners will be out of a job 😅. Car manufacturers should build this thing right into the cars. It shouldn’t need more than some kind of electronic tag to link to DMV
As a license plate collector I hate this but if this becomes a mandatory thing for all states then my collection would be worth an insane amount of money
It will likely become mandatory. Much like anything I don’t want, it will be forced down my throat
Yeah let's pay a bunch of money PLUS a subscription fee so police and our government can track us more easily! That's "cool".
🤣 Very true!
It’s 20 bucks
@@staffordszn at the time of the video it was $160.00 plus tax.
@@charlieg6913 sheesh
@@staffordszn Yeah, I'm glad to see they lowered it. 20 bucks isn't bad at all.
Pending in 28 states... 3yrs later only 3rd state just approved. 😂
This is a terrible business model for 24.99 per month for something that "looks cool".
It is legal for use in all states now. But only a handful of states allow the use of it as your plate.
I'm curious will the price of tags and registration be cheaper? and it appears the inventor of this electronic tags and local registration office will benefit more than the tax payers and they will probably be making more money. they will allow advertisement.more revenue and a tracking device. I like the traditional metal plates better.
Having this will only cost you more money and draw unwanted attention. DMV charges outrageous fees to begin with and they will be more than happy to charge owner's of these George Orwell plates a healthy premium for ownership.
It is interesting how the tech geeks love government over-reach and giving up any level of privacy for the "cool factor"
It has not made registration any cheaper unfortunately. That would have been nice though.
800bucks !!!@
No front plate? I'm interested...but I'd wonder about getting constant tickets by San Diego meter maids for not having it on.
Put plate in front window problem solved
@@NoAutoBoomin Also technically illegal. If the officer wants to write a ticket for it, they can. The law states exactly where the plate must be.
David Parker what do you own david ? or are you talking about people renting and your renting to huh ? 😂😂😂😂
@@NoAutoBoomin Bro what you're making 0 sense right now 😂
@@davidparker9676 Depends on your home state. Several states do not require a front tag.
I just recently add one to my car. I like the idea, I hope it really catches on. Some of these comments are really negative, which if you do like it just don't get one, it's that simple.
I like that my tags auto update every year and can't be stolen. I am a little disappointed though that I still have to have my front plate on years later. That was supposed to be something they are working on. Its a fine product for me. Thanks for your comment mate :)
This came preinstalled on my Escalade and I’m not sure how I feel about it. GPS tracking features are great but the My Cadillac app already has that. Being able to display a website is great since I do black car service but I could easily pay $20 to get a custom license plate frame. I don’t understand why I have to pay a yearly subscription fee just so I can have the privilege to change the plates between light/dark plates. And I’m assuming that’s on top of registration fees for California. I’m wondering if after a year I can switch back to regular plates.
this makes future fake plates super easy!
Just wait till they start tracking you with it and issuing fines for speeding, etc after they get GPS all figured out on it.
it is my belief is that by the time society gets to a place where they would allow that level of government oversite, most of the cars on the road will be full self-driving and eliminate the majority of unsafe driving already)
Well they can do that now with this thing they called a smartphone
@@GoHARD99 Uhhh no, they don't track your vehicle speed nor issue you tickets using your cell phone. WTF are you talking about?
@@usdm420 I know but they could your smartphone has a gps police track people thru cellphones everyday that's what I mean
@@GoHARD99 that's not how things work, jesus christ... how the hell would they even be able to see how fast you're going using your phone inside a car??
I LOVE IT!!! I want one! I wish they would show it lit up at night as well as what their website talks about with some sort of white LED to the front. And for anyone interested, a lot of the info talked about in this video is no longer valid. For example, the prices have all come down. The purchase price is 600 bucks, installation is 200 bucks, and you pay 6 bucks a month to use it. Those numbers are off the top of my head after reading the website earlier, but anyone can Google it and look for themselves. One more thing about the plate: The guy in this video said it has 16 colors or something like that? Then he said it’s monochromatic. I’ll have to look it up to be certain, but doesn’t that mean black and white? And if it has 16 colors, why did they show everything in black and white? They really should yank this video because of the outdated information as well as some things that were clear as mud. Another thing: Yes, I know it has built-in FasTrak. That’s great for going over a bridge, but what about driving in the toll lanes here in the SF Bay Area? Interstate 580, 680, and others, now have the FasTrak lane and you have to have the newer transponder with a switch on it that you set yourself for 1, 2, or 3 people in the car. Depending upon where you put your switch on the FasTrak unit, that determines how much you pay if you even pay at all. They did not address this either, and it’s a HUGE omission. Last thing: On their website, it says that they now come to you to install it. You don’t have to visit a dealer far away somewhere. If the folks selling this new, awesome invention (like I said, I want one and I’ll tell my friends about it too) want to have clarity out here for us consumers, they really should take this video down and make a new one that has updated information. I just learned about this thing 10 minutes ago and I was able to list so many things that are wrong now. They should not want this video floating around out there. If I was the entrepreneur, I would have yanked this video the instant things changed. Free advice, my friends. I think you should pay attention to this. Thanks. And congrats on a great product! I’ll bet you’ve got outstanding margins on the item itself if it’s made overseas (which I’m sure it is). You probably don’t make much on installation, if anything at all. So your income is from sales and then a steady, monthly income from users who own the product. You’re going to be rich! That’s awesome! But please put up a new video with correct info.
Who are you to say this video should be taken down?
You obviously have more money than brains for wanting this Orwellian tracking device. I bet you can't wait to get your microchip and barcode tattoo on your forehead.
David Parker What do you mean WAITING for my barcode tattoo and microchip??? Keep up with the times, son. I’ve had them for nine years. That should really get your panties in a bunch--“Is he serious or joking”? By the way, speaking of Orwellian, who are YOU to try to limit my freedom of speech. Time to take a good look in the mirror, kid.
@@andysmith6824 Looks like you are a little triggered there buddy. I didn't try to limit you freedom of speech by saying that you are a mindless tool. Here you are telling the video creator to take his video down because you paid a different price than he did, and his OLD VIDEO was no longer current. Like I said before, who the hell are you to tell him to take it down?
Go waste more of your money so the rest of us with a shred of common sense can keep laughing at you. You are obviously a precious snowflake.

You don’t have to have advertising it’s your choice
Eli, what about a front license plate? Are you exempt from having one in the front of the car in California? Thanks.
No. You still need at least a standard one in front.
Honestly never had one for the 10 years I've been driving here
Are we still needing a front plate in California with these?
$700 and a fee of $7.00 monthly and your registration will not go down come on we live in CALIFORNIA yo bet it will only keep going up think about this we are taxed a $1.00 a gallon for gas and you know they have no shame they are going to ask for more : {
Terrie Henderson these will help lower the gas tax as with these they can tax electric cars based on usage/miles driven
They just approved it in Michigan. It is not worth it. I am out.

This is pretty cool, I want one. But can I drive to an unsupported state? What if I wanted to drive to Montana?
I think you’ll be stopped until Montana legalize it
Sounds like dystopian nightmare fuel
Does it show the state of charging at SuC that next divers know, when they can expect you back to unplug the BEV and free the stall.
What...?
"Been in development for over 10 years" translated means that it will be manufactured as cheaply as possible and sold for maximum profit to make up for the over 10 years in development. So, sub-standard parts and lots of problems.
Expect software to appear that can hack these. That will be fun.
You are probably right on the hardware, I think that is how they can afford to gaurentee it (with replacement) if anything happens to it.
It’ll be made with only the highest quality Chinesium metals!
I cant get a straight answer but isn't california a two license plate state? everywhere I look it only shows people installing one.
YES 2
I realize that a number of Tesla owners think they do not need to conform to state laws that require two license plates, since having a plate on the front is considered offensive by these special people. But just for the hell of it, how much does it cost to have two of these?
After I become Governor of California, CHP & DMV - The TAG - the Tandem Auto Gestapo, will be disbanded. Sheriff's Departments will receive the CHP budget. Annual renewal will end; expiration will not exist. One plate will be all that's required, & off-road machines will no longer be regulated, licensed, taxed, or etc. Cars not used will not require non-operation action or fee of any kind. Scanner, reader, sensor, & etc will end except for kidnapping cases. CHP are Armed Tax Collectors. CHP are Tow Truck Dispatchers for the Tan&Blue Revenue Crew. They're going to be defunded & disbanded, with the budget going to the Sheriff’s Department.
What problem does this solve? It even has Pro in the name. What is the difference between a professional waste of money and none professional waste of money?
its 'pro' because you can only buy it at dealer

I wonder if this could work in my country, especially where there is a shortage of black vehicle license registration plates in my country.
This saves companies money Not you. You have to pay a monthly subscription and you have to pay to have it installed or have to pay for a battery to run it every like 5 or so years. Under 1,000 dollars but you should get it because it's "cool". Also some states require both front and back plates so you still have to buy regular plates.

Getting mines tomorrow. So is it true, if you want to customize your actual license plate number, you can do it from the app?
You can customize the message around the plate, but the plate is what comes from the DMV database, we aren't allowed to change our plate on the fly.
And this is exactly how California will be able to tax us per mile.
Thats a great idea for the masked of us
How is it powered?

That is super cool! It could be useful if your car is stolen

Tech Balloon, It would be useless for a stolen car. Any pro would remove it. The cops would find your overpriced license plate in a dumpster. Cars are successfully stolen with lojack and never recovered.
Most modern cars are difficult to steal. Any modern car thief would quickly disable it. You don't see low level thieves stealing modern cars anymore, it takes more than a screwdriver and a hammer to do it.

I live in a state where when your vehicle is not in service you have to turn in your plates which is crappy Nevada
Its $200 a year 4 year contract
For advertising I would say that was a good thing for advertising in a bad neighborhood some Thief is going to see that as gold not to advertise with but because it's shiny and it does things for them like everybody they ran into the irony is another thief will be ready to steal it from them LOL
$800-$1k...I can see a shit load of these things being stolen alot.
I feel for the poor guy whose plate malfunctions and goes into "Stolen" mode. Enjoy the arrest, cavity search, and vehicle impound.
Any place in LA that sells and installs this ?
So if the parked vehicle's plates are in the advertising mode, the car has no visible license number. Let's say a car involved in a crime has been described and its license number publicized; your car looks the same, but an onlooker can't see a license number and therefore assumes this is the crime car and you are the perpetrator. Swell.
I don’t think advertising is a good idea, we don’t need drivers to be distracted because they’re reading ads instead of watching the road.
Even if the car only displays ads when parked, there is potential for people still driving to notice the ad, and due to the fact that it’s on a license plate, they may be surprised and lose focus
Becoming distracted is your own damn choice. You don't have to be distracted. It's on you. Control yourself better.
S3 XY I disagree. There are factors beyond your control when driving and humans are still victims of cause and effect to the point that they are almost fully predictable. Humans are hardwired to pay attention to irregular events, which would include a changing licence plate.
Ever been to Vegas? Lol trucks with moving ads all the time.

Why in the hell are so many folks obsessed with the idea of constant spending!?!?! Absolutely insane idea for anyone to pay monthly fees for a license! From what I can find online today, initial purchase and install is roughly $400, then depending on the state monthly fees will run $20-25. Folks really have to be brain dead to volunteer for this garbage!
In other words its a TRACKING DEVICE !!!!!!! WHAT ELSE ARE THEY "INSTALLING" AT THE DEALERSHIP !?!?!?!
I think this is really cool and futuristic. Sans the advertising on the digital plate, it's very functional. All of you people worried about being tracked by Big Brother: You're already being tracked. Might as well have some fun with it. \😄/

Can you get the covers in different colors. What happens when your license plate stops working or malfunctions, will I be liable should a police officer writes me a ticket ?. Is a payment plan available for the license plate.?
If you need a payment plan for a license plate you shouldn't be buying it.
One day you will retire and wonder why you are homeless. You can tell people how back in the day you had an electronic license plate and a current i-phone .... as you ask for spare change.

Is it covered with the insurance if someone slams into your car and it breaks?
River will replace it for free if this happens
And what I find interesting about those kind of places basically people cannot switch plates basically the numbers can't be changed off those plates and besides that that's also a fine if you get caught with different numbers on that plate because the numbers that are supposed to be on the plate are supposed to be on the same car you can't switch the numbers out and put them on different cars because that's a felony I do believe in that state
nobody gives a shit !!!!!
You really think someone's gunna steal a car and not just take that off the car?
So uhh what about Illinois 2 years later??

Same, the aluminum plates are so iconic!
Cool I want those ones ..
advertising should be Illegal.
and only one view of the plate should be allowed. as it blinds other drivers at night ( your eyes see dark at night then the plate flashes bright light and blinds any one behind you).
Umm.. I'll forego "cool" for under a thousand and subscription and a service plan. What a RIP-off. They could have done this and merged it with current cellular plans. *smh* And the government will happily track you your speed and if insurance gets ahold of it... yeah.
The subscription plan part sucks. If it was one time it's a bit more reasonable, but yeah the monthly part is over the top.
Great point about the insurance! These lemmings will give their money, privacy and security to the most corrupt and incompetent people.... the California government (DMV), insurance companies.
Does it come with one or two???
Just one for the back, they are working with the state to get approval to remove the front plate requirement entirely.
