  • Trains and ferry are a good combination. Even though ferries are not always the fastest way of travelling, they do provide a comfortable night of sleeping and travelling at the same time. This route is a very good connection if you're travelling by train. The MS Skåne is also the biggest roll-on roll-off train ferry in the world.
    Check out the railway station of Malmö, the trains between Malmö & Trelleborg, the railway station & ferry terminal of Trelleborg, the Stena Line ferry MS Skåne and how to get from the ferry terminal in Rostock to Rostock central station in the video.
    ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ABOUT TICKET FARES ▬▬▬▬▬▬
    For this trip I travelled with an Interrail card (same as Eurail). You can just hop on the trains between Malmö and Trelleborg and also the S-Bahn in Rostock with your Interrail.
    For Stenaline there's a discount, check out the Interrail app for details.
    (please note this might change, make sure to check it yourself as well).

    Travelling around northern Europe with trains and ferries is a dream of mine. Me and my people here in Indonesia could only dream of such nice and reliable ferries, and on top of that continuing the journey with other modes of public transport is just a wonderful experience. Great video, you just earned yourself a new subscriber. Cheers and keep up the good work, mate!

    The BEST way from Gothenburg to Berlin ! Öresundståg (Oresundtrain) to Malmö, local "Pågatåg" to Trelleborg and then Gothenburg based Stena Line to Rostock. Yes, cheaper than TT-Line. Then in Rostock bus 45 or 49 to S-Bahn in "Lütten Klein" and on to Rostock Hbf. In Rostock the RE5 bound for Berlin or Elsterwerda at the border between Brandenburg and Sachsen only 45 min with RB31 from Dresden. On the trip homebound from Dresden in late July 2022 I and several others slept outside on the deck, "Greek-Style"! You pronounce Trelleborg right!

      That's what so unique about this connection, as far as I know it's the only possible connection where you can camp on the deck in Northern Europe.
      I also do have a great experience, before I started youtube though, on the route from Travemunde to Malmö, you need a taxi at the Swedish side though. Actually I also really want to feature that connection on this channel.

    As a ferry fan, I haven't even been able to find any info on the ferry, M/S _Skåne_ , so thank you for the interior shots of her! If or whenever you travel on _Skåne_ again, could you do an inside tour of her?!

    Very comprehensive trip report. I believe the ferry sometimes takes freight wagons, but obviously not on this occasion. Loved the video.

    I been on the train once from Stockholm on to the ferry and than the train continued in Germany to Austria. It was very long time ago.... about 40 -nearly 50 years ago. i do not know if they still goes as most of the countries has now high speed trains on long distance

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  Před 2 lety

      There are still some passenger trains that will use ferries. Not a lot I do have to say, i only know Italy. There are more and more high speed trains indeed, however sleeper trains are upcoming again as well and they won't use high-speed lines.

    Hallo, prachtige reizen maar je hebt me ook zin laten krijgen in een reis naar Zweden. Weet je soms hoe ik het best spoor van Brussel naar Goteborg aub? En dan nog naar Stenungsund?

      @Trainviking  Před 2 lety +1

      Brussel Gotenborg kan direct via DB geboekt worden. Is uit mijn hoofd in 1 dag te doen.

    hey train viking can I ask which country do you like taking trains the most?

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  Před 2 lety +3

      That's a hard question to answer, it really depends on how you look at different aspacts. Definitely Europe is my favorite continent.

    hey train viking do u like european trains or chinese trains better? and the scenery as well

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  Před 2 lety

      Really depending in the route. Security on trains in China is in general just to show off. Its annoying to go through check points all the time. In Europe this is much better (and almost never something is happening). Security is very different per country and kind of train. However Security (even airport security) still let's 90% of harmful things out, so it's mainly only to give you a safe idea.

    Do you have recommendations for reliable taxi from Narvik Train Station to Bjerkvik Ferda. I need to collect my motorhome from there. Thank you

    • @Trainviking
      @Trainviking  Před rokem

      I honestly have no idea. However for public transportation in Norway you can use www.entur.no. about taxi services I really don't know. Norway isn't cheap so I guess a taxi will be really pricy.

    • @Trainviking

      I used interrail for this, however tickets for the ferry I've booked on the Stenaline website. For train tickets from Malmö to Trellebor, you can book it via SJ and the last part via bahn.de
