You’re just casually gonna throw in 4 dimensional shapes and concepts in huh? It just never stops with these gifted, talented, bold artists. This animation makes me really excited about the future of the medium, it feels so classic and so new. It’s a really unique creation that I hope reaches a far wider audience than it currently has. Such commitment and wise storytelling is to be treasured and cherished. I feel time will be very kind to the many interpretations the messaging holds. That feeling of regret from drowning a fly, and realizing what you’ve done, alone feels incredibly relatable on an interpretive level if not literally I would imagine. Honestly I want to go on, but it feels right leaving it about here.

Beautiful work! The characters, line work, and backgrounds have be vibes of Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Dr.Suess, Rock's Modern Life, Chowder, and even a bit of Genndy Tartakovsky in some shots. And even with all of that, it still seemed like an original style. Loved it!

The vibe and style of this short puts me in the mind of independent animated shorts of the ‘80s but with a modern touch. Stuff like what someone such as Bill Kopp would’ve done or what have you.

Wow, I have no words. This is the most amazing, most incredible animation I've ever seen. Not only from the amount of effort and skill it takes to create this complex of a film for one person, but also because of how much the work that was put in shows. I can't even begin to comprehend how long it would take to draw every frame of this and at the same time keep the movement so smooth. Nothing ever stops moving. Even when characters or objects are standing still, there's still slight movement in them. For example, the plates that the blue waiter carries has a sense of weight and speed to it as they jiggle, and bounce off each other. Plus, when I saw the designs of the humans and their world, I was immediately intrigued. Every part of it is just so colorful and full of life. The characters can show their thoughts and feelings without speaking a word of dialogue. It's a great use of show, not tell. For example, at 3:31 we know what the orange guy is feeling when the fly begins to drown. We can clearly tell that he feels remorse for his actions, not through dialogue, but just through his facial expressions. He looks to his left and right as if he's looking for the punchline, but he realizes that there's no joke. You don't have to be a genius to know the exact thoughts and feelings going through his head, we just know through our subconscious empathy that he feels bad for watching the fly struggle to survive. Along with the storytelling, there's also moments that are just awesome for the sake of being awesome. Just like this moment at 3:55 where you see the bowls and plates flipping and bouncing around. It would be just as amazing without the scene, but having it there just adds charm and personality to the world. As you watch, you just get immersed into it. And the music and visuals do an amazing job at helping you do that. For example, 5:26 would not feel as dramatic and thrilling without the intense music and the close-up perspective of the fly grunting and struggling to climb to freedom. After the overcome the conflict, the fly and orange guy get a cute personal moment together because you tell by the happy music and the fly's expression that he's thankful to be saved. Also, I appreciate the small detail of the fly wringing the water out of his wing and the blue guy finding it weird that the orange guy and the fly are just staring at each other. At 6:40 the happy moment is short ended marked by the change in music and the giga chad duck absolutely wreaking chaos and eating the fly marking himself as the true villain of the story. At this point, my jaw dropped as the falling plates slowed down and the duck started to parkour across it. If I were trying to convince someone to watch this short film, I would just show them the one-minute chase scene at 7:05 . This scene rivals Disney-level animation and creativity and I still can't believe it was animated by one person. Also, can we please just give this film an Oscar for just this transition between the city to the cricket music world at 8:27 ? The trumpet beginning to play as they slide down the long, twirling leaf is incredible, I am speechless! I mean, the entire section of the cricket world with the dancing crickets is amazing. The animation, music, and cinematography really shine here in all respects. Once 9:52 starts, and the orange guy dances so much that he twists his legs around and unravels himself into psychedelic madness, you really begin to see the beauty and technicality of the animation in full display. Having knowledge and some slight experience in animation myself I think I would have gone insane with the amount of patience and dedication it would take to draw every frame of this Oscar worthy scene. Anybody who watches this masterpiece would be insane not to immediately subscribe, like, and check out his other content. Such an amazing animator doesn't deserve to go underrecognized.

Acrylic colors reminiscent of 40s Disney movies, with the surrealist approach of artists like Sally Cruikshank and the animated fluidity Richard Williams? Oh, with Joe Murray's art style. A strange combination, but i like it. I wonder how long it took to animate everything, i applaud the animators

Such a weird video. But I think that's a good thing in this case. It shows off various different styles of creativity. Once it paints a good picture of the world, it throws a twist at you. Showing the artist can easily lead the viewer through these different styles of creativity.
