    If I had a really stable board I could see myself getting up to 35-38mph range if I had the right safety equipment. Easier to type that out instead of doing it though. My highest recorded speed on GPS is 32.2mph. This is on some other universe of skill and bravery.

    Nice video! Can you make a vid about the board and explane the build and what parts you use and so on. I want to build my owner board and want somthing crazy like what you are riding.

    • @wiggpickle
      @wiggpickle  Před 2 lety +4

      Thank you. There's a lot of interest around me making a build video, but I don't think I'm going to do it. It has taken 2.5 years, many injuries, and a good bit of money trying to get to these speeds. A build video would have too many casuals trying to reach deadly speeds. That would end up with a lot of deaths and quick regulation of these things. What I tell most people to do is get a premium board (Lacroix, Kaly, Bioboard, etc.) And start from there. Those boards are capable of more than enough stock.

    Sick man you should sell builds like that. I’m not a DIY electronics guy but there’s a stretch of road nearby me I can’t ever touch because there’s 50 mph cars….there’s a 45mph road branching off that has this crazy steep hill I’m not sure any standard bought eskate could climb or brake on-cars struggle up or down it, my own car struggles up it for sure as well
    Fastest I’ve ever gone is 32 full throttle down a hill 😂 it was sketchy on my prebuilts but you looked smooth as butter at the 50 mark! Jealous!

  • @captnshrms
    @captnshrms Před 2 lety +1

    Damn, you are just cruising at 50+ now 😍 I'm going to have to upgrade my ranger if I want to ride with you now 😂 62 mph is about all it's good for, and I'm about to gear it down to around 45-50. I need a new controller with field weakening so I can push a higher top speed and keep the lower gearing. Can't wait to see the video.

    • @hairymanjack6767
      @hairymanjack6767 Před 2 lety +2

      I wouldn't recommend field weakening on esk8 for the fact that if the esc were to fail it would feel like it would be slamming on the brakes. It can make sense for an ebike as if the motor were to suddenly brake you'd just skid and still be able to control for the most part. I'd just recommend going the conventional ways of more speed or torque (gearing or voltage/amperage).

    • @captnshrms
      @captnshrms Před 2 lety +1

      @@hairymanjack6767 yeah, mine is a standing scooter/ebike thing (kuberg ranger) but I forget how reliable you esk8 guys need their electrical systems. Having handlebars makes cutouts and stalls, even a full rear wheel lockup, pretty easy to handle. It's ridiculous that Heath is even able to keep up on a board 😂

    • @wiggpickle
      @wiggpickle  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you! The esc actually has no airflow, as it is contained in the enclosure. I plan to add in internal fan at some point. I'm going to switch to 80100 motors soon and see how they hold up.

      In this video, the board was 1800wh and 2wd. It got around 45 miles to a charge. It's now 4wd, 2000wh, and gets 35 miles to a charge. Rapid acceleration, but having range anxiety again sucks.
