- The State of Israel has asked the International Court of Justice to reject South Africa's request for additional provisional measures against it over its conduct in the war in Gaza.
Israel's legal team pushed back at what it called South Africa's egregious efforts to distort the facts of the war in Gaza before Justices of the Court.
South Africa on Thursday urged the ICJ to stop Israel's destruction of Gaza and order new provisional measures that order Israel to stop its military offensive in Rafah, and Gaza more broadly, and scale up humanitarian aid into the enclave.
Dr Mia Swart is a visiting Professor at Wits Law School and joins us on teams.

Dr Swart is correct and what we all see around the world. The last proposal was a proposal that the US CIA head together with the other parties had HAMAS accept it, yet Israel once again rejected it. If you care for the lives of the innocents, why don't you call upon Hamas to leave Gaza? Once Hamas is out of Gaza, there will be no war.

This isn't about Israel or South Africa. It is about Netanyahu and the ANC. What is in it for each? Netanyahu wants the oil off the Gazan coast. Netanyahu has US backing. The ANC wants to hide its own rampant corruption and nepotism. Neither of these issues is before the ICJ.
