Ur-Quan Kzer-Za Theme Music [HQ Epic Orchestral Cover] from Star Control 2

The is an an epic orchestral version of the "Ur-Quan Kzer-Za" theme music. The original tune was composed by Erol Otus, and it's one of my favorite pieces from "Star Control 2 - The Ur-Quan Masters" (1992 video game). This music is played whenever the player encounters one of the Ur-Quan Dreadnoughts.

The DAW I used for this MIDI re-orchestrated remake is Reaper. I used epic orchestral instruments such as french horns, strings, trombones, cymbals and timpani, as well as epic cinematic effects. The images used in this video were all generated by Midjourney 5 based on prompts and images that I gave it.

The original Ur-Quan theme song was published as a 4-track PC MOD file. "4 tracks" means that at most 4 instruments, or "samples" could have been played at once. These were 8 bit samples and therefore of lower quality, but still I used to love playing this song (and other MOD tracks) on my Sound Blaster using my MOD player (and later, s3m player).

Great cover! I love the Kzer-Za as enemies, they are evil, but they are not cartoonishly so, they as a civilization had valid motivations that made them take the wrong path to become aggressors. That makes them relatable and terrifying.
