- YT Decoy is a designed around a 170mm fork, 165mm rear and enduro geometry, with Shimano EP8 motor and custom 540Wh YT battery. These uncaged models are limited edition and unique bikes.

Can’t wait to see the riding and hear your comments about this bike on your next video. The bike seems to fit what you normally like for enduro. A little dated geo though, older battery spec… I guess in these times of supply chain challenges, companies that are known to pay their suppliers well might get the newer components sooner. 🤷🏼♂
Ive had my uncaged decoy for about a month. The spring is light for my fat butt, but the bike is awesome. So much torque, you dont need to ride it in boost. Great bike for sure
Let's hope that their after sales/post order customer care is way better than I experienced just over 2 years ago. Love my Decoy, it's a great bike, would I buy another? Nope, would go for a Kellys.

I got the 2019 base with MT7 brakes and 170 fork + some small upgrades. Still love it. Got it used late 2020 for a great price. Would love to switch to a coil tho. Everybody says it makes the bike perfect.
Same exact same here.. I still love my Decoy from 2019 and actually I wouldn’t like to change it for anything else I saw so far.
Upgraded rear shock to a Push ELEVENSIX and it really is made for a coil. The dh aspect is everything you can imagine, surprised how well it climbs with a coul. If you have the opportunity, definitely worth the $.

I'm not sure all batteries are made equally ! I've done the Bosh E MTB Challenge on my decoy and had one bar left, where there were a couple of bigger flat batteries. All about rider style. Boost everywhere and you are going to run any battery into the ground.
That is interesting point.. I did on my old decoy 4 and 6h rides and quite a lot of climbing and came back home couple of times almost with no battery.. but I was flat out too!! I never needed more actually. Hmm. But I ride uphills on trial and flats on eco. Really really seldom switching on boost!

540 battery is a deal killer . Do you like the decoy a lot I have had great test rides . I would buy one if it had a larger battery.

540 is a shame and a total deal breaker also the EP8. I’m liking that rear shock and debating putting it on my own bike. The 38’s on the front are a great fork

When I bought my Decoy Pro Race 2019 they offered to get the 700wh battery for a special price because it will be late a little bit. Now we have 2022, there is still no 700 available and even a second 540wh was never offered for the early adopters of the Decoy. The Marketing Bullshit is a shame!
In my opinion they should have changed their mind on the EP8 update and switch to original Shimano intube 630. Thats one worry less than having and supporting an own battery.
But the bike still performs well. Doesn't really feel outdated.
How tall are you Rob and how much reach do you prefer for a trail bike?

Id think it would be better if you got into more detail on the batteries in your videos, like the voltage of the battery and the ah because I'm not familiar with the wh of a battery.

YT from the UK response team said that the battery is not happening and that they favor the ride quality of the bike with the 540WH battery. They know nothing of a 700WH battery coming, and recommended that we just buy a second 540WH battery! I feel totally ripped off! My buddy’s Cube Stereo has a 625ish WH battery, and it weighs 1 kg more than my bike with several assist modes. On our latest tech ride, I pedaled without assistance during the last 500 meters distance to his home when my mate still had 44 percent battery remaining in this Cube Stereo. We even cut the ride short due to the YT Decoy’s lack of range. Did YT POO POO the bed?

IMO you wont get on with the bars, I tried them for a while on my Levo but they don't have enough backsweep and feel as though they pull your shoulders forward, even standing over the front, they also feel like they pitch your elbows too far forward.. but everyone's different!
A bike company I would love to buy from but my past experience with them is poor.. they were pretty incompetent when I tried to throw money at them for a decoy and the ongoing battery saga.. well... I hope one day they get it sorted.

500wh is small compared to most enduro spec mtbs now, coupled with the EP8 which isn’t very efficient the range won’t be great.
I wouldnt have another shimano powered e bike given
@@megane230f1 Definitely good motors, they are light and very compact but miss out on efficiency - if I get 20 miles and 3k ft of climbing from my 500wh battery then it’s a good day. I’m also suspect about shimano’s own battery packs, they degrade very quickly.

The EP8 is a deal breaker for me personally. Especially after watching Rob's recent motor test. EMTB Motor Repairs also said they won't service Shimano motors due to a lack of service.!
I had a large Pro Race for 8 months in 2020 and let me tell you the mullet or 29er cannot turn switchbacks like a full 27 front and back. I've had a medium Commencal SX power Pro Race this time with full 27 and oh man can it take sharp turns like a champ. I don't miss my Decoy

And for whatever reason... (I'm not into geometry when it comes to bikes yet) but Ive also noticed way less pedal strikes on the Commencal. Guess maybe I'm up a little higher?
Nice bike but check this out: Thok TK01 Yellow Limited Edition with Öhlins suspension as well, but with bigger battery than the Decoy and a box with goodies! Cheers!

I ride a decoy and love it but wouldn’t buy one now, other brands have taken over. The new canyon’s with their big batteries for instance.

THE WORST BIKE COMPANY EVER! I bought a Decoy in 2020, terrible service 5 weeks for a 'Stock' bike. One ride and rear hub made a loud noise. Turned out it didn't have any grease in! Had to borrow a wheel! The charger they sent Was a continental version! After 3 years the battery won't charge as 2 bolts mysteriously disappear. £500 for a new battery! I had Orange bikes for 15 years, brilliant service! So are Hope.
I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN!
Front heavy pig that seriously needs an update - heavy battery with low capacity. Big dollars spend on commercials and zero on aftermarket service. Yes i got burned on this brand and will never come near it again even at half the price :(

Nice frame but i bet it's overpriced af and has a weak 250W motor, proper ebike should have at least a motor like the CYC X1 Stealth that we have seen is much much more fun. That way you would also have fun on the way up the hill.
Could tell you were struggling! What an absolute turd. Dated geo. Tiny battery. Paper thin EXO tires. Code R, no power. Underpowered rattle trap motor. No shop support. YT is swirling the bowl. Nice vid though.
