The most notable when you’re driving around in Saint Petersburg and in Moscow is the fact, that you immediately realise that the support for the horrendous war and for the old evil dictator in the Kremlin has blown away. You can’t see any cars with the “Z” sticker and when walking around you notice that people tear down the posters about enlisting and that they scribbled "Putin to Hague" and "Peace!" on benches and walls. The Russians are really tired of both the war and the dictatorship. In which other country have more than 50,000 researchers and scientists fled in recent years? Local politicians in both Saint Petersburg and Moscow even had the nerve to demand that the Duma would impeach Putin. The people have had enough of all of these years of corruption, stagnation, incompetence, neo-Nazism, murders and attacks on former republics.

I liked the video, but I have not seen anything you are referring to in the clip, which is good. Majority of Russians are not overpoliticized and yet they respect the SMO objectives. Petersburg has always been like you saw this on tape: both 1 year ago and today. You sure expected to see people going out to countless rallies. Well, Russians are not fanaticised the way Poles or Ukranians are. For exalted crowds you go to Warsaw and Kiev.

@@Intourist. When a restaurant in Saint Petersburg is blown out (when they successfully killed the neonazi recruiter Tatarsky) and when an entire army contingent under Prigozhin went almost to Moscow within only one day… Is it possible to not notice tanks and guns on the street? )) Then saying “I haven’t noticed anything”. It’s like going out in a great forest and stating “I can’t see the forest, since there are so many trees in the way” )))) And despite the cameras, which are everywhere monitoring the population, how many recruiting offices haven’t been burnt down or vandalised? If you’re driving by GPS, then it goes nuts since they try to disturb signals, due to the fear of drones. How many taxidrivers in both Piter and Moscow aren’t suffering from this? Why are the infrastructure and the business severely suffering from the sanctions? Go to the cemeteries and count how many young men wearing a military uniform on the gravestones who have died the last 16 months… It seems as if the trees somewhat ARE the forest… Элементарно, дорогой Ватсон.

@@because_whynot Unfortunately no. But i wish i could visit it some day. It's not that easy to visit Russia from EU countries. I know a freind of mine who was few years ago in Moscow and he told me that it was a complicated procedure. He needed to provide documents in wich hotel he will stay, bank account and other stuff. And now with the war going on and all the sanctions, i guess it's even more complicated to go there for a EU citizen. But i hope one day i will have the privilege to visit Saint Petersburg. Until than, i wish you all the best!
