Selenite Crystal Digging in Oklahoma! First time to the Salt Plains State Park!

  • We took a trip to the Salt Plains State Park in Jet, OK to dig for free hourglass selenite crystals. Only found in Oklahoma! What an awesome place! Found lots of crystals. Supply list is below. Bring lots of fresh water!
    Digging is permitted from April 1 to October 15. Each individual is allowed to take home up to 10 lbs of crystals.

    This video was really interesting!! Not only where you were and what you were doing but the way you filmed it. The mix of color and black and white, the sped up and still shots, the music and printed messages.. all that was A LOT of work and I think it made for a pretty dang cool video!! Thank you for taking the time to make this one!!!

      Katie, need to stop at road cuts. Never know what you may find.
      One place in Arizona, in a road cut, was not expecting, beautiful Aragonite crystals.
      Arkansas road cuts, found beautiful fossils embedded. Many places to check out. Have fun.

    I was recently out there and I was surprised of the crystals that I got from out of that area. As you said they are very delicate when they come out. It was well worth the trip going out there.
