- Chris Stapleton absolutely slayed the National Anthem at the 2023 Super Bowl. His tone is remarkable, his dynamic control worth swooning over, and those runs!!!! So many fast notes - yet executed with an air of nonchalance.

I’ve never heard the voice of a more American man before and it fills me with pride
What makes him any more American than say Harry Connick Jr., Billy Joel, Luther Vandross, Garth Brooks, etc..? They've all performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and they are all exactly the same amount American as Chris Stapleton. I'm not even comparing their performances, nor am I saying I think they did it better than Chris. I'm just saying that they're all exactly as much American as Chris. (100% American) so what do you mean when you say you've "never heard the voice of a more American man"?
He actually sounds like he studied under a black vocal coach.. If you ever watch AGT The only thing that makes Caucasian or Asian singers stand out is whenever they use our (black) vocal creativity or sing with soul in (European terms)
@@NUTZONYALIPZBased on today's standards your whole comment was racist as fk. Chris can own 8 genres of music. How many people of any color can do that?
@@jcsmith3806 Well based on what's going on today the ONLY WAY a non black person can own 8 genres is IF they learn how to do what black people do..rap, sing like us and dance like us in which over the years we have been the best teachers and you guys have learned well this is the ONLY way Chris can do such! And IF black people had a scintilla of interest in crossing over into different genres full time.. WE CAN and you know this! Just think about this, IF black people never joined the music: jazz, blues etc who would the world have to learn from?! If black people introduced dance, art etc or enter the NFL or NBA that shit would have dissolved 80 years ago.. All of you precious little babies are influenced and inspired by US in almost every way 😂😂😂 your people would never make it through an AGT or the voice competition if they didn't use black creativity...the riffs, runs, tones and control.. luckily black people are sooo infinitely gifted and inclusive we can afford to let you guy use our scraps.. Sam Smith wouldn't be shit if he didn't glean from us and there's still nothing special about him lol so maybe you need to fact check yourself before you try to go into a debate.. honestly we could dominate everything but we choose not to.
@@pthibault630WOW! You read into that comment a bit too deeply I believe...
Chris didn’t need to go over the top like most do when singing the anthem. He was perfect
He sang it as like it was supposed to be sang...from his soul
It was mesmerizing and soulful. His understated guitar accompaniment added to the drama. Best national anthem in recent or distant memory.
Creative, bluesy, and nonchalant-perfect description!!
Gracias🙏 ❣️ ❣️❣️ I have seen a lot of your and likes on my page thanks for being a devoted fan ♥️ How long have you been listening to my music&?🎶🎶🎶❤️
Easily top 5 if not top 3 I’ve ever heard in my life. 20 years in the military, I’ve heard it a LOT… and this was one of the most memorable and moving renditions ever.
Top 2! Along with Whitney Houston’s rendition.
Thank you for your service to our country. He was singing for you and others like you who are serving our country. God bless you.
@@omardcastrodhonestly, I like this one a little more, but I also love Whitney's version. I'm sure I have different taste than many but he really put his soul into that performance!
Right? Brilliant! A sweet melodious care man he is.
I was born in 1990 and it’s the best National Anthem of my lifetime.
I was born in 1956 and i agree.
Those 5 seconds send me every time.
As an audio nerd, I also appreciate the use of Melodyne and Rx as visual aids 🙌
Hands down the best version of the US national anthem I have ever heard! Touching, soulful and amazing! Love from germany! ;)
Thank you for this lovely mini reaction🖤
Thank you to Chris for one of the best anthem performances in history.
And thank you my boys for bringing home another Super Bowl win ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
His voice reminds me of the late great Gregg Allman.
He made that song his own and I loved it. Chris brought us to church with that song
One minute? This is probably the best rendition of this song ever. I was gonna recommend you to do a review on it until I found this short video. This is very meaningful to a lot of people. Would love your full input. Would like to see a reaction video. I actually added the Chris Stapleton rendition to my playlist and listen to it religiously. I always respected the national anthem but never thought I would add any rendition to my playlist. He can make any song better as far as I’m concerned. Dude’s a genius
So are we going to get a longer analysis from you? This is the first time I have heard a ‘star’ perform the anthem and not wreck it. Truly refreshing.
Doubt it, since she seemingly heard it before recording this. But maybe I'm wrong.
I never watch shorts, so idk if it's intended to be a preview of an upcoming video or not.
Hah you are too dramatic. Yes this one was way above average, but there's been others who have done a decent job (not wrecking it).
One of the best to ever do it. From song writer credits and singer of small band to singing the National Anthem at the Superbowl.
I’m not a country fan in the slightest even though I grew up in South Dakota where I’d say a vast majority listen to the genre, but Chris has always been one of the few artists I’ve never had anything negative to say about, man is just straight talented
Chris has one of the most beautiful and powerful voices of all time.
Chris Stapleton just made the Star Spangled Banner a song I would listen to all day! In true Chris Stapleton form, he told the story of the National Anthem. I was hoping you would review this rendition! Thanks Elizabeth!
Can I say, he and Troy working together...just amazing. Both are fab representatives of American performing arts. Grateful 🙏🏻.
Wow. That's some fine singing and fine analysis. He makes it his own without succumbing to what i cakl "melismatosis". Thank you!
I've always loved music. When done well, in any style and time, it is powerful, wonderful, and in some cases, divine language. However, I must confess that I always watch your videos, not exactly because of the comments (even because I'm Brazilian and I don't speak English very well), but because of you: for your spontaneity, joy and pleasure in doing what you do. Congratulations! Besides, it's beautiful (Congratulations again!).
This short was very well cut, awesome job. Curse the algorithm for only showing it now.
I melt at that run. I don't think i couldn't react to that if i tried my hardest. Lol
He's damn good. And just a Good Ole Hillbilly from the hills of Eastern KY. Paintsville, Johnson Co
His runs were ver clean, effortless…old soul & blues music ❤
I was blown away too. 🙂
Impressive!
I love how you analyze the voice of singers . We learn from you. Thank you so much
Like the idea of you doing shorts of live events. Big fan of the channel
What an amazing voice what an absolute entertainer and american patriot god bless you chris stapleton🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
he have an unique soul technique.
he is no only a country singer. he is an American singing and full soulful singer
I would honestly pick this as my super power. Fuck flying when you can sing like this man
He is amazing man with amazing voice godbless
He has a next level voice and style, but he never seems to sing from a place of ego. It's amazing.
He’s a hero of mine, sitting in the Hot Tub, after a light tug and 6 beers listening to one of his albums…I play it once in a while, couldn’t stop the tears first 3 times. 6” 240
Explained so well.
And made every player and grown man and woman in the country tear up
I couldn’t agree more with everything said. Excellent analysis of a very special performance.
I'm pretty sure 74 extra notes is like 423 less than most people doing super bowl anthems, so I was all on board for his rendition
Im a metalhead but i absolutely love his voice. So soulful and bluesy.
He made me proud Chris is the man
AWESOME
I'm so glad you said something about this. It's the best National Anthem cover I've heard.
Goosebumps and the hair on my arms is standing up.
You're amazing Elizabeth I love all your takes on these amazing voices. I'm sure you have heard of synesthesia? I always thought everyone saw sound lol...and this is so beautiful💜❤
Gracias🙏 ❣️ ❣️❣️ I have seen a lot of your and likes on my page thanks for being a devoted fan ♥️ How long have you been listening to my music&?🎶🎶🎶❤️
Im impressed with your take on his take! I bet it was electric in that stadium
Yeah, this was one of the best renditions I remember in recent Super Bowl history
Well explain THAT SWEET MELODIOUS CAVE MAN#
Bruh🔥
Speaking of sweet and melodious and gorgeous too........yes you are!!!
Wonderful version by Chris Stapleton. Had goosebumps all over my body. Hopefully you do a full reaction to it ❤️
Greatest voice on the planet by far!🤘
Yeah he is a diff level
Love Elizabeth....🎸🎤
Chris Stapleton is phenomenal!!!!
His simple guitar riffs were awesome
Chris in Steeldrivers, Chris in Jompson Brothers, Chris covering Metalica, Chris Solo, been listening to Chris for years.
I love her Channel and her energy. If your next best comparison is Whitney then you are doing something right. What a great rendition.
My second favorite all time to Whitney and frankly it isn't separated by much.
It was nice to see/hear him do that. It's a hard song to do for anyone. Thought he did it justice. Like this quickie analysis.
PLEASE react to his CMA performance of Cold, it's easily one of his best performances yet
Yes he was very impressive in yesterdays Super Bowl
"Sweet Melodius Caveman" ...I wish someone would describe me like that.
It was a amazing performens. It moved me very much. I am in love with his voice.
I’m not sure I could even have more goosebumps than I did with song. Tears, as well!! Hot mess right here! Awesome!!
The image of Nick Sirianni sobbing says it all
I was especially impressed that the sound on my TV came out before he actually sang it...
Excellent
Chris sings his soul ❤
He doesn’t even have to try. He’s just THAT good.
You should react to Chris Stapleton’s Midnight train to Memphis.
It was beautiful!!!
Hey Girl! You're just so incredibly adorable and sweet! I absolutely love your knowledge of music, especially, singing and voice. Looks like CZcams has got you doing shorts lol. God Bless you, your family and that precious baby!🙏❤️❤️🙏
I would love to see you do some folk music breakdowns, like Cat Stevens or John Denver. Also would love to see a Neil Diamond breakdown sometime.
One of the best voices of a generation. Truly
CIAO, GRAZIE.
BUONAGIORNATA 😬😵
❤🤎👼💙
The only anthem that should ever be song in this country
Sweet Melodious Caveman was my nickname in college.
I love you 💕
Just saw this stream. If you have an opprtunity listen to Marvin Gaye's a ccapella National Anthem at the 1983 NBA All-Star Game. It's the first time I heard the anthem perform with a unique arrangement.
Great rendition of the national anthem! Chris Stapleton's singing is so good that I even excused the fact that he sang it in 4/4 time.
Check out The Steeldrivers....incredible stuff. Any song but in particular Sticks that Make Thunder, Drinking Dark Whiskey, and Midnight Train to Memphis. Love what you do but this is another rabbit hole that you won't regret.
I wasn’t impressed. I got exactly what I expected.. the greatest singing of our anthem ever!
Yeah that’s the way you do a fuckin run! It’s barely noticeable but makes it a hundred times more badass
As a Brit who loves the nfl I think this is up there with Whitney for best performance of your national anthem at the Super Bowl. Does anyone else hears the guitar star of Elvis Presleys An America Trilogy in parts of the guitar in this version of the star spangled banner
And my team, my hometown team-the Kansas City Chiefs won this Superbowl. That makes this rendition that much more memorable!
Best performance ever. With Whitney in ‘91 a close second
I definitely loved his rendition but I actually would have preferred it more original. Less extra notes. But that’s me 😊 Beautifully done
Ditto, it's was awesome 👌
Thank you for getting it. I just can't reconcile how people don't appreciate him
To sum it up for y’all: He did good
It's called soul
I personally was hoping for more power and drive for the finish, and a well-timed flyover.
But the performance was still great.. Particularly the "gallantly streaming" delivery.
He did great, I’m positive that he’s f he were still alive, Chris Cornell would do the best at singing the national anthem
Please can you make a whole réaction to the entire performance
Right up there with Whitney Houston’s performance
It was stunning. I am a purist when it comes to the anthem, I don't usually like the embellishments. But the transporting affect his rendition had on the audience was amazing!
Chris and Jennifer Hudson..The BEST
