    We have a similar led light in Australia called Camp boss led light. Its telescope is 12 volts and has a remote. The big benefit is it has an insect mode where it goes from white light to yellow. It's super bright and no insects!
    It also has a big suction cup attachment to attach to your vehicle.

    Glad your reviewing some Goal Zero items since I've appreciated your other reviews/videos. Thanks for the effort here!

    Your AMZ link took me to a page that offers ,shall we say, less expensive alternatives. Thank you!

    Hi David,
    That sure puts out a lot of light. The only downside is that when it's fully extended it doesn't seem too stable. It's got a pretty long run time when hooked to an external power source, even with that little power station, it can run for hours. Goal Zero had some interesting things at the CES this year. Their stuff is pricey but is well made.
    Steve.

    Looks like a great temporary floodlight!

    FWIW that DC plug is NOT a 5.5x2.1 mm plug, it's Goal Zero's proprietary 6 mm plug.
    Dont lose that 12 volt adapter if you dont have one of their power stations!

      @@ReeWrayOutdoors No problem, I bought the thing even with that connector, I wish they had made it something else, because you can't really find any non-Goal Zero adapters, and even the Goal Zero ones seem to be out of stock constantly.

    I would rather spend my money on Milwaukee lighting systems that are more rugged and use the tool batteries I already own. Besides I have seen Goal Zero products for years and do not like their underperformance, lack of durability, and high cost for what you get.

      I agree completely. Their products are way overpriced. I won one of their 50 watt boulder semi rigid panels about a year ago. I have never gotten more than 29 watts out of it. Even in perfect conditions. Can trick, cold water pouring over it etc. It will not put out more watts no matter which power station I hook it to. Glad I didn't buy the $150 POS.

    Nice review, and I'm sure it has its uses. That's a lot of light, however, when I camp I use as few lights as possible, so as not to ruin/impede seeing out past my camp site perimeter. I use established sites (Nat'l Park/ COE), and I would dislike it if any fellow campers were lighting up the entire area.

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  Před 6 měsíci

      Yeah totally agree. That's why I made the comment that it has a low brightness mode so you don't blind your neighbors in those situations. I also prefer to keep lighting to a minimum when camping, as a general rule, but it is nice to have the option for lots of light in case you ever need it.

      @@ReeWrayOutdoors👍Absolutely a good idea to have the option of bright light(s) if/when needed. The exterior "porch" light, and interior galley lights on my Hiker Trailer are so bright I covered them with a yellowish tinted film. Plus, it cuts down on attracting insects. :)

    Looks like a nice light for someone who has a specific use for it, but, for me, the cost doesn't justify this purchase in today's economy. Thanks for sharing it though. :-)

    Very cool. Did you have the lights tilted up to the max when outside? The lit diameter wasn't very impressive, certainly not even close to the claimed 300 feet.

      @corcorandm Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hard to capture that with a camera and have it look decent

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  Před 6 měsíci

      a bit skeptical about the 300' claim as well. Not sure how the measure/determine that. I think from a practical standpoint, 100' (diameter) is probably much more accurate... which is still a pretty large area.

    Goal Zero, lost me years ago. I was all bought into them and all their products failed me . Their customer service sucks and they didn’t warranty anything. Glad I bought at Costco. Never ever will I purchase again

    -10 credibility point for simply mentioning a Goal Zero product.
