I upgraded my speakers and then bought better speaker wire, now I have to learn how to solder so I can replace the rca plugs! It's fun to fix things though. I have a wonderful old Bell and Howell stereo receiver/amp still going strong! Looks like you have a small solder gun, if you can share what size it is and what kind of solder you're using, that would be great!
Welcome!!! about the cable any brand will do as long as it is shielded wire. The signal wire is in the center the ground strands of wires are braided and covers the signal wire in the center. Some shielded wires are not braided but it covers the entire signal wire in the center. That's how to check a good quality shielded wire. Hope this will help you.

Thanks, Wish we still had those around, did try Ace, Lowe's, Home Depot, Best Buy radio shack, most have the cable attached, just need the ends. There are some on Amazon, not sure which if those would be the same as what you used. Do you see one on Amazon that would be best?
Any repair place wants $40.00 just to look at the turntable. They all want to replace the entire cable. Since I get some sound when I move the plug I believe it is just the one white connection, I believe the red connection is good. I just want to be sure before I cut the existing RCA plug off the cable I can just use the connector that do not require soldering.
Thanks for the info. Last resort is trying on Amazon. Hopefully I am not getting junk. I am going to try the ones that are soderless. I guess with COVID people decided to fix up their equipment. There are not enough repair places anymore. Those that are around say they are overwhelmed. Who knew albums would make a comeback. Still have mine from the first go around.
This rca plug is left and right. Right is red while left is white or black. The positive wire is the insulated wire in the center. While the negative wire is outside the insulation of the positive wire.
Yes when you buy it has a plastic tube cover inside. Take note not all has the plastic cover it depends. The plastic cover is not a big deal you can seal it with electrical tape or masking tape.

You can buy the RCA plug male in electronic stores or online stores. Or you can buy it in ACE Hardware.
