Xiomara is a current Freshman at California Polytechnic State University(Cal Poly SLO), a public university in the CSU system. Their motto: Learn by Doing, has been a core philosophy for their university to intersect both experiences and education. Cal Poly has 6 different academic colleges and over 150 different undergraduate majors and minors to choose from!
Today, Xiomara talks about what she feels made her standout as an applicant, and shares a glimpse of what it’s like to be a student at a university that follows the quarter system.

The Student For Students Network is a student led nonprofit connecting students with the answers and resources to understand, plan for and go college! We are not only made up of students who promote college information by incorporating our experiences, but as well as professionals who assist. All in all, we are a network that serves as a hub for students to have a safe space to start exploring and gaining knowledge, to then point them to the right programs, people and places that can help them with their goals.
