I get more worried about nascar wrecks, f1 cars are designed to break apart more, so when a nascar takes flight or crumbles it’s far scarier to me, especially Ryan Newman 2020
"Did you enjoy this video?" ...seriously? ..WTF?
....you might want to think about changing that when the subject matter of the video is dead people and tragic incidents.
Do you have the most racist comments, speeches, bills requested in politics on video.
Kubica's crash in Canada
The first crash that had me covering my eyes in my time watching the sport was Robert Kubica's crash at the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix. Running in 15th place due to the timing of the deployment of a Safety Car to slow down the pack, and having pitted for fuel and tyres, he was lining up for an attempt to overtake the Toyota of Jarno Trulli. However, he got fractionally too close as not only did the slight contact break his front wing, but the contact occurred when he was already on the grass. Travelling in excess of 150 mph, he was suddenly out of control, unable to steer his car away from any impact, his car got launched into the air by a tarmac access road, clipped the end of a concrete wall that had the already retired car of Scott Speed tucked behind it, then slamming into the next concrete wall beyond it.
The brutal impact virtually destroyed the car, the frontal impact not only removed the nose cone, but even his feet were clearly visible as the car shed parts, careering back across the track and coming to rest on its side.
Incredibly, despite the enormity of the impact, being taken to the General Hospital of Montreal, he was fully conscious and his only injuries were bruising to his body and a sprained ankle. Although he didn't race the following week at Indianapolis, he did appear in the press conference at the start of the weekend, where he was asked about whether he had seen the accident. His response was simple, yet hilarious:
"Yeah, I did, I saw it also live, when I was there. I also saw Scott's footage he sent me good pictures,"
Another sad point in Senna´s death, is that found inside his car was an Autrian flag, upon winning the race Senna would raise that flag in honor of Ratzenberger, but he never had the chance...
Yeah, I don't believe in curses or really anything supernatural, but that's an eerie coincidence.
says everyone in shit YT vids
That's a myth
@@blackshadow7192 Its not
@@DoggedGrim I always thought he had a brake failure
After Senna's death in 1994, F1 was changed forever. Safety became top priority and a protocol was put into place where the actual crash images are not broadcasted until confirmation that the driver is okay.
It's sad he had to die for the sport and governing bodies to start taking safety seriously. That always seems to be the case with motorsports in general. Nowadays, this is rare thanks to advances in technology and now safety is paramount. NASCAR has had no fatal crashes since Dale Earnheart Sr.'s death and even after Senna's death, that hasn't happened since.
@@Ziko577 Jules Bianchi died after Senna
@@HerbertAckermans Oh I forgot about him. Thanks for clearing that up.
Seems they did not do that for Romain Grosjean
@@Ziko577 Well NASCARS have a bigger shell around the driver.
Sadly, a lot of drivers had to die in order for safety improvements be taken seriously.
Glad that both Albon and Zhou are okay after that crash at Silverstone.
when people are driving around a track at 200mph (350kph) there will always be a risk of death
I'm glad that Guanyu's still alive.
Nissany is lucky after that weekend as well... Sausage curbs are at it again
I'm glad Max was still okay after his crash in Silverstone. And Grosjean after Bahrain
i think Imola 94 was the the tipping point for safety in f1, 1994 was a awful season in f1, there was another serious incident that year at monaco, there's a lot to be said about that year and the cars
"Did you enjoy the video?" No, those were horrible moments :(
Ye is this don for real. Did you enjoy watching 9 drivers and 15 spectators die in the short space of 9 and a half minuites. No one did unless your a serial killer. Have some respect and honour those who died doing there very dangerous job just to entertain us. Honestly I’m shocked you act like this is non fatal video. I’m not trying to sound like a Karen, but I’m disgusted at this.
@@thespug2687 whyd you watch it then
@@jomama4974 I was annoyed might have gin e a bit too far soz everyone
You can enjoy "horrible moments".
They acknowledged it on their latest video
Ayrton Senna was my hero when I was a kid. I still remember to this day, where I was, what I felt and seeing my parents crying over his death. When his coffin arrived in our country, the whole nation just stopped to grieve. He is still considered one of Brazil’s sports hero.
Are you from Brazil then?
@@thespug2687 indeed I am.
@@alenotario I live in England but my dad was working in McDonald’s when it happened, it was on the radio
Senna’s death is one of the most upsetting crashes in history
And the day before. He didn't want to race after Ratzenberger died if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, apparently he expressed to Prost and Lauda that he didn't think they should race after Roland's death.
I was watching that when it happened. He was such a rare talent.
I'm thankful that F1 today is so much more safe. The halo, the clothes, everything. For example if Zhou's accident happened 10 years ago, I really don't know guys
I don't think he would of made it and if he did he most likely wouldn't be walking off
Sadly, he would've surely passed away in an instant. The most gruesome part about Zhou's accident is that the roll bar on his car failed, so it was the halo that saved him from sliding on the ground directly with his head. Friendly reminder: the halo was only introduced in 2018, so if this same thing happened earlier than that... well, you get the idea.
The halos in F1 cars are truly a blessing for every driver. Hell, Lewis Hamilton said that the halos saved his ass more than once.
Grosjean might have ended like Jules Bianchi too without it and it definitely would have saved Bianchi.
Bianchi's death, as heartbreaking as it was, especially with how young he was and how much potential he had, led to the introduction of the halo, to which there's the no doubt in my mind as to how important that has been. Has saved many drivers from injuries and death, including Grosjean and Zhou Guanyu. Whilst he should never have had to give up his life for these safety changes, if it wasn't for Bianchi, some of these major accidents in the last couple years would've ended so much worse.
#JB17 ❤️
One of the first lives it saved was his godson Charles in 2018 Belgium gp
@@VeranaXS I think that’s kinda sweet, although horrible, if you know what I mean
Saved Hamilton from Verstappen on top of him in Italy too
Absolutely, and you think they would know better putting recovery vehicles on a live track by now too. Especially a wet track, as in the Japanese GP a few weeks ago, Gasly was not happy at all.
@@Shadolife both those incidents should of been red flagged without a doubt, some very poor decision making from the race directors
The most awful I have ever seen was young British driver Roger Williamson in the 1973 Dutch GP. His car burst a tyre and was launched upside down as it hit the barrier, coming to rest inverted and on fire. The worst part was, the marshals did not have fireproof clothing or proper extinguishers and - horrific as this sounds - did not help him, and it was left to fellow driver David Purley who stopped his car, went into the flames and desperately tried to turn the blazing car over and pull Roger out. Tragically his efforts were in vain and Roger burned to death - it makes me cry every time I see it.
Tom Pryce's collision with a marshal in South Africa in 1977 is also disturbing to watch.
That's a real hard video to watch especially as you see Purley try to help on his own call for help and then gradually lose hope and and forced to give up.
Purley later said Williamson was fully conscious while he was burning. I can't imagine how terrible Purley must of felt
Francois cevert's was also terrifying, even though there is no footage of it. He was literally cut in half by the guardrail.
@@c1243 Helmuth Koinigg's crash was similar, and if I remember rightly was at the same circuit. Incredibly, they simply covered his car up with a sheet, with what was left of him still inside it, and continued the race.
@@davecommentator yes they were both at Watkins Glen
Jo Siffert's crash at a non-championship race at Brands Hatch 1971 was a similar accident. His car caught fire and he couldn't escape, and died from smoke inhalation.
I saw romans crash live, scariest thing ive seen in racing. A miracle that he survived
I remember that day too vividly for comfort. My mother was bringing me food (I was isolated from my parents since they tested positive) the moment before the accident happened, so I turned my head for a second to see if something was going on before taking the platter, saw the crash and instantly said "Oh God, he's dead!", putting my hands on my head. Luckily, both Romain and my dinner survived the whole ordeal - if you don't count the fact that I ate tha latter, of course😅
2020 was the year of scar6 motorsports crashes, ryan newman, and grosjean
Same I did not know what was happening. First thought it was Russel and then worked out it was Romain. It was scary. I never want to see that again.
Edit:
Other than the bit where he climbed out of the car. Touch wood nobody else will get hurt in f1, though I have no doubt that it sadly will. I hate this sport when it goes wrong.
Much respect to the way this video is shown. This is not a "top" ten list, it is not light entertainment. It is a chronicle of tragedy in one of the most popular sports worldwide, and you make that clear from the start
I mean, lets not forget the one they made *before* this one...
"Haha look at all these crashes more than half of them had the drivers die anyway dont forget to like and subscriibe :DD"
When you think about it, this shows how far safety has come in F1. Several entries here show drivers dying as a result of their cars catching fire. Grosjean's car explodes upon crashing and he just gets up and literally walks out of the resulting inferno. Respect to everyone who works to keep these drivers safe.
nobody kept him safe. If he hadn't gotten out himself the fire marshals would have taken their sweet time to first put the fire out completely before attempting to pull him out. He would have been burnt to a crisp.
@@cecilebraillie4471the F1 standards at the time kept him alive. He'd be dead in any other era of F1.
@@cecilebraillie4471The fact that the car literally fell apart in half, was by design, and thus, that design pretty much saved his life. I’m not going into details, because off the top of my head I can’t recall, but I saw a video explaining the 2020s car design… might still be around.
The fact that at the end of the video you say "Did you enjoy this video?" Thats pretty wild💀💀💀
"did you enjoy this video?" 8 of the 10 drivers involved passed from racing ... No I didn't enjoy the video
That Villeneuve crash gutted me, but they're all horrific.
Unfortunately, Ascari died four days after his Monaco Grand Prix accident, when he lost control of a Ferrari at Monza.
Just shows that it’s possible it was his fate to pass away that day but escaped and death followed up on it. Scary to think that could happen.
His head was CRUSHED
@@Glibzer You mean destroyed in pieces in the crash??
Actually watching Grosjean's crash live was horrifying. It was a miracle he survived
You missed Jo Schlesser.
His death at Rouen during the 1968 French Grand Prix was so horrifying that it changed the rules of racing all over the world, he was driving the magnesium bodied Honda RA302 when on the the second lap he lost control in the second corner crashed into an earthen berm overturned and caught fire.
Schlesser was trapped in the overturned car as it quickly became a blast furnace inferno burning so hot (an estimated 2200 degrees) that the fire melted through the pavement around the car and set the road bed itself on fire and turned sand in the track side berm into glass, fire marshals had no choice but to let the fire burn itself out (which took 35 minutes) and by then there were no remains to recover from the car because schlesser had been incinerated alive.
Witnesses reported schlesser's screams could audibly be heard for at least four minutes and that the smell of his burning body was so sickening that people in the grandstand located in the corner were violently vomiting.
It later emerged that honda had offered the second RA302 too no less an F1 legend than John Surtees who turned them down flat saying that he "had no interest in driving a death trap" after examining it closely and coming to the conclusion that it was a fragile and extremely dangerous car..
After this horror show the FiA (followed quickly by every other major sanctioning body in the world) banned the use of magnesium in all forms in racing (bans which still stand to this day) and his closest friend Guy Legier immediately retired from racing as a driver choosing instead too set up his own F1 team (which bore his name) and paid tribute too jo by naming his racing cars with the initials "JS", a tradition which they still carry on to this day with their prototype sportscars that compete at Le Mans and around the world.
It’s Ligier.
One of the most heartbreaking details about Senna's crash was that they found an Austrian flag in his car, to honor Roland Ratzenberger.
Not to mention that the crash only happened because his team tampered with the steering linkage of the car to make him more "comfortable".
Not very comfortable for him
The goat will always be lost
When Enzo Ferrari was informed of Gilles Villeneuve's death he was "beyond inconsolable" and stayed that way for days reportedly refusing all visitors and locking himself away in his motorhome, eventually it was all to much for him and he left zolder returning home to marenello so he could grieve in private the same way he'd done for his beloved son Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari a decade earlier.
It was the only time the man nicknamed "saturn" by the other teams in the 60's and 70's (because so many of his drivers died behind the wheel) ever left a venue on a race weekend before the race even happened.
Villeneuve's death was followed by yet more tragedy for ferrari at the next race at hockenheim where Didier Pironi had a horrific accident that left him permanently crippled and unable to race, pironi would go on to become an offshore powerboat racer and would meet his own untimely end in 1986 during a world championship offshore powerboat grand prix event off the coast of england when his boat his a rogue wave at over 200 MP/H causing it to instantly disintegrate killing both pironi and his co-driver instantly.
When he pironi died his girlfriend was six months pregnant with twin boys, when they were born she named them didier and gilles in honor of the two men and now 40 years later both are involved in racing with one being a member of the pitcrew at Williams and the other being an engineer at Oreca which designsand builds endurance racing cars for the LMH/LMP2 classes in the FiA's world endurance racing championship.
This as a canadian, warms my heart cause the fact that enzo knew taht he had talent, and mourned his death, i have now found a new respect for enzo
Dino Ferrari died 26 years before Villeneuve.
Gilles became an f1 engineer and was the person who stood on the podium for the 2020 British Grand Prix
I think you should have included Tom Pryce crash in Kyalami, 1977. Both him and the marshall Frederik Jansen van Vuuren died that day in a really horrible way.
That clip would be too graphic to show
i think the clip would be too graphic, but i do agree that this tragedy should've brought to light. by far, this is the worst f1 crash.
The fact that a person can get out of a wreck such as 4:08 with relatively minor injuries is a true testament of the amazing engineering that's being done on these cars.
I like how much effort was put into pronouncing driver names correctly
I just saw what happened in kayalami in 1977. Just the most horrific and gruesome crash I’ve seen
R.I.P AYRTON SENNA THE GOAT! 💯
“With James hunt”
Me”JAMES HUNT LETS GOOO”
Also me”NIKI LAUDA LETSSSSS GOOOOO
I'm so glad Zhao is okay. That crash was horrific
That halo absolutely saved his life. There is no doubt about it.
Jochen Rindt's crash during qualifying at the 1970 Italian GP was horrific to watch, making him the only driver to posthumously win the driver's championship.
39 F1 drivers lost their lives in accidents during a GP weekend or testing. But there are also horrifying crashes with no fatalities, just think of Max Verstappen's 50+ G crash at Copse Corner during last year's British GP. Safety has improved, and it has been improving all throughout the F1 championship since 1950 and before. No one looks at an accident in a race (or any sporting event) and just shrugs their shoulder and continues without taking lessons.
In the 50-70's, accidents with fires were exacerbated by the fact a lot of the framework of the cars contained magnesium, which keeps burning. So trying to put out a petrol fire was hampered greatly by the magnesium as it kept igniting the fire over and over and over.
Niki Lauda's crash at the Nurburgring was tragic, but look at Roger Williamson's crash at the Dutch Grand Prix for the sheer tragedy of how ill-prepared the trackside fire department was, and seeing David Purley trying his utmost to save the live of Williamson who was screaming in the upside down car engulfed in flames.
Max Verstappen's father, Jos Verstappen, had a high speed impact at Blanchimont during the 1996 Belgian GP and got out, very shaken but without any kind of injury, Luciano Burti crashed heavily into the tyre barrier in the 2001 Belgian GP but got out without serious injury. Jacques Villeneuve had a big shunt at Eau-Rouge in the 1999 Belgian GP that made onlookers gasp out of fear.
Regarding the 1994 Imola GP, on Friday Rubens Barrichello had a horrific crash where his Jordan car got airborne and smashed into the catch fencing. He got away with his life.
A lot of crashes in the 50-70's were horrifying to see, simply due to the way the cars were constructed. The 1960 Belgian GP claimed 2 lives in 2 separate accidents, British drivers Bristow and Stacey.
In al honesty, this list is NOT the 10 worst crashes in F1 history, there are much worse ones, especially in the earlier decades
what's shocking is that Max Verstappen's 50+ G crash isn't the highest Gs someone has survived in a crash, Kenny Brack survived a 214 G crash in 2003
I clicked on this video immediately, as an encyclopedia of Formula One knowledge (believe me, this is NOT a brag), I was seriously questioning how this list was going to be ranked, but they actually did a good job. My only criticism would be the lack of inclusion of Robert Kubica at Montreal in 2007, one of the heaviest impacts in history and he luckily came out of the wreck with just a broken leg and nothing worse. Others that could have been included are as follows: Francois Cevert, Jochen Rindt, Tom Pryce. Helmuth Koinigg, Patrick Depallier and Elio De Angelis
agreed theres also mark weber in valencia when he got launched into the air while overtaking a lapped car
Verstappen's 51G hit wasn't a pleasure either.
But i am just glad that one of the most overlooked crashes, the most forgotten fatality, is included in this list.
Everyone remembers or knows about Senna, but Ratzenberger's death is always overshadowed by Senna.
@@decodiazHD that is very true
It says '10 worst crashes' not 'Top 10 worst crashes'
🤷🏾♂️
@@dazza818 yes I know that, but when I say ranked, I mean being in the video, I noticed they didn't use numbers
I still remember the bianchi crash just the fact you never saw it but heard about the crash added to the fear for his safety because to not show it meant it was a huge one and then seeing what really happened years later brought all the feelings of shock and sadness back to the surface. Plus it was the first f1 death I ever heard and saw
May all that lost their lives rest in piece
Ayrton Senna taught us, Brazilians, that we could fight to be the best, not only in sports but as a country, in the world stage. We were never the same after May 1st, 1994. Senna forever. 🇧🇷
Thank you for covering this and I was there for Zhous crash
Can't forget Kubica in Canada I believe and Marcus Ericsson in his final season.
I admire every video you guys made cause its plenty work to get every information on a particular topic
I remember watching Grosjean’s crash live and literally thinking that he had died. I’ve never been more relieved to see someone walk away from a crash.
So many horrifying crashes in f1 especially from back in the day. From Jochen Ridnt to Jim Clark. The safety of the sport has come a long way.
A less known horrible and disturbing crash: USA GP 1974, Watkins Glen. On quali in the 9 lap Helmuth Koinigg went off in The Toe turn I think, his car went trough the barriers, very very very similar to Grosjean crash but in this case, there was no halo. The driver was LITERLLY decapitated, to make things worse the year before Francois Cevert died in the same GP in similar conditions. Rest in peace to all
I love your soft tone when you talk about these crashes taking them very seriously
Love it when WatchMojo makes F1 content!
Ayrton wasn’t just a champion, he was the greatest ever, watching his races you could feel that he was just different, the person behind was even better, just think about the Brazil stopped everything for a cuple of days, like a king death..
Every driver deserves respect, they’re just fearless, best sport of the world but sometimes can be difficult to understand and accept why to put yourself in this condition of risk..
Forgetting a few. Helmut Konigg got decapitated at Watkins Glen. Francois Cevert got mutilated at the very same track. Spa 1960 had two fatal crashes. And Ascari's crash shouldn't have been on this list considering a couple other drivers also went into the Mediterranean sea and wasn't included. Ironically, Ascari would die a few weeks later from testing a Ferrari at Monza.
I’m impressed with the pronunciations
Your list is very good, but I would replace Ascaris Monaco crash with Tom Pryce‘s fatal accident at Kyalami 1977. It may also be the hardest one to watch due to the events taking place in this..
As a person who watch F1 religiously since 1991. This list is the first watchmojo list I don’t have the heart to finish watching
WOAH! i loved this!
Robert kubiza’s crash, even though it wasn’t fatal, was still a scary scene, but a miracle that he survived
“Did you enjoy this video?”
What kind of question is that. Of course I didn’t enjoy this video. I respect the sport. That’s the only reason I even watched it.
The "Did you enjoy this video?" comment at the end seems a bit outta place.
how i enjoyed it
@@jimbo9208 Because it sounds psychotic saying "yes, I enjoyed this video" to a video that discusses in detail about the worst F1 car crashes ever and the fatalities that occurred from them. It doesn't bother me and I did enjoy it, but the comment at the end was just funny in the context of the vid.
These are all amazing crashes and kudos to the drivers involved! Your 3rd crash had me kinda closing my eyes but not really as I don't have an emotional connection to the drivers or any human for that matter.
As an F1 fan myself I pay all my respects to the dead drivers. But I gotta say MsMojo for a Canadian those pronunciations were excellent .
Tom Pryce not being on here over Lauda or Grosjean is pretty stupid. Pryce was basically murdered by stupidity.
Most of the racers died, but Romain Grosjean survived
It's not a miracle Grosjean survived, it's a testament to how amazing F1 driver safety is these days! The fireproof suits, the quick release fireproof safety belts, the quick escape drills they have to do, these suits are designed to keep a driver alive for two minutes! Used to be 15 seconds only a few years ago... The halo as well here saved his life by splitting the barrier. Seen so many crashes recently where wheels or other debris has landed directly on a cockpit of another driver which would've been a tragedy just a couple of years ago. Really good work here by the FIA.
3:54 I remember I saw that live and I got completly scared because that was my very first time of watch a crash like this,I was very happy when I see him getting out of the car alive.
Now if we talk about number one I most say that sadly I never have the chance to see my f1 hero racing live but when I saw the film and the crash I most confess that I cried with that,I have watch the documentary plenty of times and I still cry when I see the crash
I’m so glad they made the halo! Even though this list is crazy! I feel so bad for those people! They suffered so much!
‘Did you enjoy this video?’ - Bad taste to add that to this particular video.
I think Martin Donnelly’s crash in the 1990 Spanish Grand Prix, should’ve been on the list
That crash sadly ended his career in F1 because of the leg fractures he sustained, preventing him from racing in single seater race cars
I remembered seeing it on the Senna documentary and my word, I started crying when I saw what the aftermath was
R.I.P J. Bianchi, A. Senna, R. Ratzenberger, and all others who passed in F1
Gilles was one of the few crashes that made me pause and sit in silence for minutes
I think The death of Tom Royce and Marshal Jansen Van vurrsen in 1971 is definitely one of the most horrific crashes I ever saw Footage of.
Yeah Tom Pryce's crash is the most difficult to watch crash in F1 history.
Could have happened again at Silverstone this weekend.
*1977
**1997**
Tom Pryce's fatal crash in South Africa, 1977.
Grosjean is very lucky on the day he had that terrifying accident.
How grojean walked away from that, crazy
In Tuscan Grand Prix restart turned chaotic
"This is the worst thing I've seen ever!"
WAIT A MINUTE I REMEMBER ROMAIN GROSJEAN!! HE’S ONE OF THE INDYCAR RACERS!
Senna’s death is the 9/11 from Brazil… you can ask every brazilian where they were when Senna passes, and they will clearly remember… the whole country stopped, no one could say a word, just cry… Senna was an amazing human being, may he rest in peace
Surprisingly, this is the first time I'm seeing Jules Bianchi's crash eventhough I watched the race.
The safety features of F1 has evolved greatly
NikI was still kicking until he was still old! Respect Sir!
Ratzenberger, a f1 driver, died days before Sennas accident, and a Austrian flag was found in his car, showing he was going to wave it when he won.

Man its sad how many have died from simple mistake
Tom Pryce and Helmut Koinigg’s deaths were gruesome.
What about cevert
@@SupBro-ww9go That was pretty bad as well. A lot of crashes from the 70’s were brutal. Roger Williamson would be another example
They are so much fun to watch, but horrific for the people who were in them
I was there in 2020 Bahrain and watched the explosion live. I still can’t believe he survived it.
Just a month or so after Gilles Villeneuve's fatal accident in Belgium, what would be the last fatal crash in a race before 1994 took place. At the Canadian Grand Prix in 1982, the late Gilles Villeneuve's team mate, Didier Pironi, stalled the engine of his Ferrari from pole position. Various cars behind swerved to avoid his stationary car, but two of them, one of them driven by Geoff Lee's (who clipped the stationary Ferrari with his front wheel) and the other being Italian rookie Ricardo Paletti. Paletti, unsighted, slammed into the back of Pironi's car at ~100 mph. The impact left the young Italian unconscious with severe injuries to his chest and two broken legs. Pironi, having climbed out of his destroyed car, beckoned marshalls forward to provide medical assistance to the unconscious Paletti.
Horror of horrors though, as medical assistance was beginning, Paletti's car burst into flames. Although not nearly as badly affected by the fire as feared, it was the injuries to his chest and two broken legs that were the real issue. He was air lifted to hospital in Montreal, but tragically, the doctors were unable to save him.
WatchMojo:Worst f1 crashes
Me ,a die hard f1 fan:fatalities are not fun.
You could never have a list like this without Lauda's legendary crash. F1 drivers are some of the bravest drivers in motorsports on the planet if not THE bravest
I really dont want to take anything away from any of these crashes but Roman's crash and subsequent time spent in that inferno is incredibly difficult to watch.
Seeing so many of these that happen before that crash and so few of them walked away from their crashes and realizing all the changes and modifications that were in place which allowed him to literally walk away from his is really incredible.
If you want to see a horrible and absolutely brutal crash, look up Tom Pryce’s crash at the Kyalami circuit in 1977. He was decapitated by a fire extinguisher after he accidentally hit 19 year old Frederik Jansen van Vuuren, who was obliterated! It was a horrible accident that never should have happened
I don't believe he was decapitated
@@WrongAndHome he technically was decapitated, the only thing that was keeping his head on to his body was a flap of skin.
I'm guessing the reason why tom Pryce wasn't included is because the video of him running full speed into a field marshall and ripping him apart while being killed by the fire extinguisher he was carrying is to graphic , but the video is on CZcams it's in my opinion it's the most disturbing accident in f1 history.
You missed Tom Pryce’s Incident,in 1977.
Villeneuve did not like to connect the crotch strap of his harness because it was uncomfortable. You see the problem, he slid under the harness, or submarined, causing heavy injuries to his neck as he was ejected.
RIP gentlemen. It was sad to see these drivers go. Thanks for the clips
RIP Ayrton Senna.
The saddest thing of Bianchi's death is that he signed up for Sauber that day, team which was competitive next year
How bandini survived another 3 days is shocking to me
Romain Grosjean horrific inferno and Zhou Guanyu in last year's British Grand Prix
Francois Cevert (bisected by armco barrier)
Helmuth Koinigg (decapitated by armco)
Tom Pryce (struck and killed a marshall who’s fire extinguisher struck his head killing him)
Jochen Rindt (crashed and had throat slit by belt he chose not to do up)
Roger Williamson (died from smoke inhalation stuck in a wreck because marshalls didn’t have proper fire protection equipment.
& Lastly Jo Schlesser (Incinerated alive in a magnesium fire)
Feel like these all warrant mentioning as the worst of the worst.
May all them rest easy.
RIP to all those that sadly lost their lives doing what they loved. in recent years I've seen at least 5 terrible crashes from f1 from the panis' crash at canadas Montreal track to Michael schumachers crash at Silverstone and to the crashes at spa as well there really needs to be updates in f1 safety for the drivers
San Marino 1994 was a complete train wreck and Ecclestone has a huge part to play in that.
Rip to all the drivers who passed and respect to all who drive in this dangerous sport 🙏 🔥🙌👏
To me, I feel like that Wolfgangs death was the most brutal death I've ever seen. Theirs actually a video of the camera POV of his car hitting the man behind it. It was one of the rarest colored clips of hid crash
Glad the halo was added in the car. Rip to other drivers
Before watching...... Senna. i was a kid an the emotion i saw in my dad setup a lifetime of interest in F1, dad wasnt a fan but it moved him a let me know feelings are ok.
People always forget that Ruebens barrichello nearly died during the 1994 race weekend in San Marino aswell in another horror crash
Although thankfully there were no fatalities or serious injuries, the 1st-corner crash at the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix is spectacular.
Yeeeessss I need more F1 content🤣🤣🤣
Niki's car didn't swerve "out of nowhere" he hit water that was still on the track, which caused him to lose traction traction spin.
Exatly, after he told the Marshalls that the grand prix should be cancelled due to rain
I think Tom Pryce crash was one of the worst of all... And I've never seen before the Von Trips accident in video, only pictures and it's shocking how unsafe the crowd was back then
