- A tour of Hollywood, California! We start at the Walk of Fame along Hollywood Boulevard, where we see some of Los Angeles' most famous movie theaters: the Chinese Theater and the Dolby Theater. From there, we visit 2 places with nice views of the Hollywood sign: Griffith Observatory (also worth it going inside the observatory) and Lake Hollywood Park. Going downhill, we pass in front of the Hollywood Bowl and continue until Sunset Boulevard. We close the day with a delicious In n Out burger.

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. Its more of a dream city to the homeless and criminals and a nightmare for residents but after all its one of the "best" well one of worst but still of the most famous in America
I live here, and it's going to be different than you expect, spend 3-4 days staying in the Hollywood neighborhood (in this video) and visit the studios (Paramount, Warner Bros, Universal), take Uber/Lift, check out Sunset Strip, then spend another few days in Santa Monica, she has another video on that, Venice Beach/Boardwalk too, and maybe a Uber/Lyft ride to Beverly Hills/Rodeo, save Disneyland/Orange County and Laguna/Huntington beaches for another vacation

Love to watch your videos very informative. One little thing when I visited the Griffith observatory we parked for free by the Greek theatre and for a couple of dollars got the bus up then had a lovely hike back down after our visit.

there's a free DASH bus that goes up there, ends up on Vermont and Hollywood Blvd, and turns West at Sunset, makes a loop back up to Griffith

I've lived in US for 17 years and have never been to Cali. 1:52 also heard traffic is one of the worst.
You should visit...you would love the winters, opposite of Boston. Traffic is very bad but they are building a metro system
yes, the traffic, especially on the freeways is horrible. The 101 and 405 are crazy. I take surface streets when I can.

What do you think about California of Hollywood
Hollywood is more touristy, it's nice to go once to see what's it like. California in general is amazing. The best weather in the world year-round. But the cost of living is really high

Glad you folks flew from NYC to LA now. I never been to LA and Hollywood which is in my wish list though I had been to SFO, CA quite a few times. Who can show better than you Renata. Haha. Best time you picked visiting LA during the winter. Never knew you both home away from home is LA, CA. Gordon sacrificed LA having lived there for 16 years. Based on your conversation, Gordon working behind Camera at Hollywood right ? No wonder the video quality so much of high standard. I am already excited and look forward to your complete series on LA (not sure by the time you read, you left LA, but would love to check it out the latest on the Universal Studios Theme Park there, last I visited in Orlando way back). So true about their transit system timing but the trains are not so bad if there’s a rail in that city
They are building and I think when they get more lines on the west side going north south then it can be a very good way to travel instead of dealing with traffic. Close. Thanks for commenting

Hi Reneta, I am a long time fan of your channel. I will go to Hollywood this weekend. Can you give me idea where to park the car near the main area? Thanks
We always like to park at the Hollywood & Highland complex (the one you see at 1:59), because you normally find parking (unless there's an event going on). That entrance is on N Highland Ave, next to the Loews hotel, as if you were going to/coming from North Hollywood. You can also enter via N Orange Dr. Just don't forget to buy/consume something in the complex and ask for a validation card, otherwise it becomes expensive. In the past we also used the garage at 6922 Hollywood Blvd, but haven't done it since we moved out, so don't know if it still exists or if it's worth it (you also needed to validate the ticket to pay less). We switched to Hollywood & Highland as our fave spot because it's much easier to find parking. Enjoy your trip!

Where did you park at the begining of the video?
Right at the corner is Hollywood and Vine is a mall and they have parking. If you buy something at the mall, some stores offer a voucher for free parking for a few hours.

What did you do at the mall?
We used the mall mainly for parking, as it's the easiest way to find parking in Hollywood. But the mall is connected to the Dolby Theater, and as we wanted to show it in this video it worked very well. We also went to the top to see Kobe's mural and the view, and had a drink to validate the parking fee 😁
