      To actually see this painting at the Uffizi is a profound experience. At least for someone who appreciates the great artistic achievement. Someone with a pedestrian attitude about authentic beauty in historical context could never comprehend that.

      @@rr7firefly, I agree. I went to the Uffizi gallery recently while I was visiting Florence, and it was magnificent to see it in person.

    Super appropriate post-church video - I appreciate the smooth transition, lol.
    If I was taken aback by the facial expressions of the last video... Mary's expression doesn't quite track with this moment. 😅
    It's absolutely gorgeous, though. I love the just-landed drape, the speech bubble, the red and blue of Mary's clothing, their halos, etc. Really beautiful details throughout.

    In another smart history video they say Gabriel is holding a laurel branch, here they say its an olive branch, which is right?
