Yes, I don't have much space in my workshop. And certainly not for a Downdraft / Grinding table. So I had to come up with something.
And that I don't suck off all the dust with this box is also clear to me. But I hope that most of it will be sucked off. It was also important to me that I could easily clean the filter. Now I can just vacuum it up with a vacuum cleaner.
I could also have bought a built-in fan, but since this was more than an experimental project, I didn't want to spend any money at first. The blue filter pad is a special filter mat and does not burn.
I like it. I’ve seen downdraft tables and dust collectors but I haven’t seen a portable box like this (other than a filter taped to a box fan). Nice and versatile.
Definitely cool build! I'd recommend considering swapping the front grille with something that doesn't block as much flow.
Yes a sheet with bigger hole would be better. It was a left over from a Job...
Erstklassige Arbeit, Dirk. Hilft in jedem Fall enorm. TOP.
Dankeschön 😁
Klasse gemacht 😊
Dankeschön 😊
Nice work pal...i really need some form of extraction in my shed and was recently looking at off the shelf options...too much$$$$$
This is fantastic, as always. Thanks for sharing :)
😁👍
Also momentan gehts echt ab bei dir.
Freu mich schon drauf 😊
Awesome idea. I don't have the space for a downdraft grinding/sanding table. Guess I'll be looking for a fan. I do have an axial 12" exhaust fan that should do the job.
Thank you 😁 yes that was my problem, no space 😁
@@TheMetalist I just recently took up TIG (plenty of MIG experience) so I've been following you. Your table especially has been the inspiration for the one I'm about to dive into this coming week. I'm curious what size the threaded holes are? The standards seem to be 16mm or 5/8" un-threaded, but what you've done seems a bit more useful for a small shop.
@@warrenmusselman9173 The holes in the table are M12. I prefer smaller holes in the tabletop. Send me some pictures when you're done with the table 😁
@@TheMetalist Will do.
Klasse Idee, und gute Umsetzung. 🦾
Vielen Dank 😁
Gute Idee!
Zuper geil, Dirk! But wait… I thought you had a Kemper collection already? The one in the corner, for example? 🤔
Thank you Anatoly 😊 yes the kemper is good but, there is only the problem that it does not have the flow rate like "downdraftbox"
@@TheMetalist Gotta ask them for a big one (they have a really nice one). 😂
@@anatoly.ivanov actully i have one (a smart fil) but this is in my other workshop. At the moment im working in my basement workshop 😁
👍👍
Awesome project...
Where did you get those filter pads? Do you have the link
Mega schön😀💪
Dankeschön 😁
absolutely great 👍
Dankeschön 😁😁😁
Gute Idee 👍
Danke Flo😊
Ralf
Hi Ralf, vielen Dank 😊 2800m³/h also ordentlich dampft 😁
Where did you source that fan? What was it's original use case?
It was a fan for a warehouse. 300watt
Did you get shocked by the tig torch?
Yes i forgot to earth the table😅
Great video as always
@@beastwolf7 thank you 😁
