Mike Holt's books helped me pass the state licensing exam 10 years ago. Now I'm about start instructing at the NJ-IEC. The sooner you see yourself being an electrician as a career, instead of a "just a job", the sooner you'll succeed in this industry.
I'm very thankful that I have been part of your life and success story. For sure having a job in the electrical industry is a blessing that allows us to make a difference in the lives of others. We are important and those we serve are important, it's not a job for sure, it's an honor and blessing.
I'd like to personally say thank you for sharing these videos. I took the Texas state electrician's exam two weeks ago and barely failed with a 70%, and retook it this week, and passed with an 82%. Most of that progress was due to watching your very informative videos.
I write my third year exam on Thursday, and although I'm in Canada, I'm using your videos to get me through the difficult sections. Crossing my fingers that I will pass it.
no!
Good morning Mike
Can proudly say I passed my Journeymanâs first try yesterday. Thank you for all your information, insight and help over the years. For anyone else going for that J card, itâs possible. Stay consistent, stay focused, you got this. Stay safe out there brothers! đđŒđȘđŒ
đ Boston, MA
Congratulations - You worked hard to make this happen, and you did this with the right attitude. God Bless, Mike
I passed exam first try today thank you Mike holt
Congratulations!
congrat did you take apprenticeship?
+oodles86 no I just bought Mike Holt's master course and studied it for a year
congratulations! i will hopefully be posting the same thing this summer
hey good job man congratulations, you put the work into it you deserve it
thank you gentleman for the encouragement I'm on my beginning.
& yes most of the electricians out there are selfish at 1 point I didn't want to do electrical because some of my ex bosses & coworkers were such ???? a people because they think they know it all, I'm not like that I like to teach & show others how to do & why.
thanks again.
i watch mikes videos and have learned alot...im a general contractor and do some minor electrical work but i love to learn and he is a great teacher...dont worry l leave the big stuff to the licensed guys.
Great video. Reminds me of the days I gave it all my life and time to qualify. Some people will try to stop you for whatever reason. I moved a lot of conduit for many shops until I took a bundle to the back. Even then I was still getting put down that I was all used up and worthless. I thought I would of had a bit more appreciation from those I tried to help. You guys remind me of those I was glad to help and learn from. Remember the good times.
I remember when I start doing electrical work I was 19 in 1988 work on commercial and residential, inspector came to the job site and ask who's the electrician ,and I say me he looks at me up and down and start laughing at me, learned down the years To succeed I was discriminated so many times because of my language and my race I work for company and I suffer a lot of discrimination too , I got so disappointed and I stopped doing electrical work in 2007 , couple of weeks back I went to CZcams and I saw you video the one that I just I'm just watching right now and remind me everything that I went through , After here everything do you say that gives give me Lot of energy to a start doing electrical work again and to get my contractor license I will go online and buy everything that I need from you to get me ready, Thank you I wish we have all these tools back in the days
I've been dedicated to the electrical trade for almost 15 years now in the state of Ohio & finally after this long have the vision & determination to take the test & obtain my electrical license. I will be referring back to your videos & programs to help prepare Mike Holt Thank you!
Mike Holt That is huge, Thank you. Looking forward to watching, learning & getting at it.
Mike thank you for all your in depth knowledge of electrical everything to understanding the nec to calculations. I used this knowledge to pass the masters electrician Exam for philadelphia, anyone asks I tell them to tune in to your channel. Much appreciated
Hey Mr. Holt,
I wanted you to know that your videos were extremely instrumental in helping me pass the state electrical contractor license exam the FIRST TIME (Mississippi). I know you hear this a lot, but I definitely wanted to pay my respects. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help!

+Mike Holt thank-you Mike holt I passed my exam today first try thank you and may God bless you

Mike holt, I teared up listening to this video. You lite a fire inside me that has been buried in an iceberg of doubt. I used to think âoh I just need to figure out how to cheat my way around and pass this testâ but now I really feel deep down that I can do this, I can educate myself and not only pass this test but learn what Iâm doing and how the code works. Thanks!
That is exactly what I wanted to hear! For a fact you can do it, and you'll do better than you ever imagined. Your life will be changed! Please send me a private email to Mike@MikeHolt.com. Let's visit...

Appreciate you guys taking the time
So true Mike. I tried to learn all I could from my foremen and they were always reticent to teach me anything of substance. I studies for two years for my Masters license. I studied while visiting my Mother in Austin whenever we were not doing something. No matter how hard you study, your going to get questions that come out of left field. Study, study, study.
Iâm a third year apprentice and Iâm hungry for that journeymanâs card.
@@jasonnunez8157 4th year here and I couldnât agree more. Iâm at the end of the road and Iâm extremely excited to take that exam
You got your j man yet
@@jmeszi4159 did you already take the test?
How did it go
Enlightening and true!
I bought Mike Holt's master library and it was amazing material not trying to sell anyone anything but this is it I wasn't very smart in highschool and I watched the DVDs and did work books and I take test this month I feel confident
mike you are the best you change my life i got my journeyman licenses and i am working now thanks god bless you
so inspiring I am considering to get licenced soon. thanks
I ended off track with a comment that got stupid. Mike Holts courses really were helpful. It had been many years with much of the material not used everyday it was necessary to brush up which I did and passed my test with a high score. Some of the best info wasnât necessarily the code itself but rather the comments from the people on the program heâs talking with. One thing said was the guy who leaves early always has a low score. If you have time stay till the end of the test using every minute. Youâll find a mistake or two if you do. Also keep in mind they are trying to trip you up so read very carefully. Thanks mike it was helpful.
Great advice Todd, and thanks for the kind words.
so profesional thank you guys for the time you all take to teach i just cry good advice
You are most welcome.

Thanks Mike, I passed my journeyman exam in Texas studying you're 2,300 practice exam. I failed twice I went from a 56%,66%, and 80%. Soon as I failed I scheduled the test soon as I got in the car and took the test every week until I passed. I studied hard every chance I got. I didn't give up even at times I felt discouraged, it is Challenging but if you push hard you will succeed.
backstreetsoulja , where do you live that you can take a test every week? I'm going for my Supervising Electricians test tomorrow. If I fail, I can't retest until late fall
Thanks Mike,
this is so true. but except at my college though i got a tutor, and I got a personal councilor provided to me! and i just passed my third year school!
I'm going to apply this. Also, alleviate all distractions.

I disagree with Eric's comment on those that leave an exam early. There are people that come prepared and finish early and do far better than those that spend all day scratching their head. A good 1 HR of study on a subject will save you 10 to 15 minutes on an exam. 5 hours of study can save you an hour on exam day. Yes you do not rush through nor do you quit early but good & quality preparation time will make you go through an exam much faster. I did this on both my AZ and NM contractor exams as well as my NM journeyman's. I took prep classes and studied well and left before almost all the class (maybe 1 or 2 left before me). I missed less than 3 questions on both contractor exams. If you are prepared you can finish well and in half the time others spend by having a "go-at-it" without preparing/studying. If people are quitters, then they are those that didn't prepare and obviously those that did not study Mike Holt's material (who would go through all that work to quit early?). In addition, when I was in school they always said that if you constantly question your answers you will usually screw up the answers. Your 1st answer is usually right, especially if you have studied. To sit and 2nd guess all your answers may not be the best advice. Skip the ones that are hard and come back to them at the end. And I must say no one should feel sorry for those that don't study, you deserve to fail if you prepare to fail.
He was not talking about you, he was talking about the typical person that leaves early.
