This is actually very true and I personally think it's not just limited to bollywood but also extends to every other movie industry in India including south indian movies. For example, recently movies like KGF got very popular. I haven't still watched that movie completely, just watched a scene where the protagonist stalks the heroine and eventually she falls in love with the hero. Seriously, we are living in 2024 and still stalking is glorified in movies and audience is loving it. As a movie buff, I would suggest watch good quality content, don't choose content based on popularity but based on intellect. I think that's better.

The same too fair skinned heroine from North of India(mostly Punjabi kudi) in every movie. Navel fetishising is so fu& ing disgusting and the worst part is the old 50-60 year old uncles do this to 19-20 year olds. I mean how low can this get? I don't understand the audience at all. According to my observation, kuch directors h jo acchi stories and all late h but the thing Is audience abhi itni nahi h, not taking about the audience who watches but the audience who pay to watch. Telegram pe dekh k masterpiece bolne wali Audience abhi bohot zada h as jinko quality content dekhna h vo 40-50 ki age k nahi balki 15-30 k bracket m h (can be wrong it's what I think) and these people either are not financially good to watch movies or don't want to pay to watch...
Take example of me, I watch movies lekin telegram yt aur torrent se download ki hui dekhi h. Life m actually paise karche karke buss SOTY dekhi thi release k time aur haa buss 1 baar Netflix ka aur 2 baar ott play is subscription liya tha.
So the problem is in audience not spending money to watch. Sadly mujhe bhi dekhi h lapata ladies aur bhramyugam lekin Netflix aur Amazon prime lunga tabhi dekhunga, so that they make more good movies in future.
Another thing is marketing, jab story aur film itni acche bana dete h toh zada paisa bachta nahi h marketing acchi Khasi karne m varna toh vikramaditya motwane ki jublee bhi acchi thi but I didn't saw any big marketing of it, may be it was kind of artistic cinema issliye... And then things come at money, shuru m sare filmmakers apni creativity express karne aur apni imagination ko fullfil kanee k liye films banate h lekin if films nahi chalti ya kuch bhi karke paise nahi bante toh unko profitable movies banane par aana padta h ab cahe usme same story ho jo 100 saal se chal Rahi ho ya na ho if profitable h toh banana padega agar lifestyle maintain karna h toh...
All above is just my observation and opinions and it can be 100% true or 100% false

Very good, it's pretty easy nowadays to just blame BOLLYWOOD for everything. Although, there's some logic to a few of your arguments, but I'd love to see you criticize the South Indian film industry too (because it's not the easier route, you see?) because the problem in those movies are far far greater in my honest opinion. But abhi toh fashion Bollywood ko gaali dene ki hai, toh chal pado. Anyways, firstly the Indian audiences need to grow up to appreciate good meaningful cinema, then only we can make strides forward!

Agreed with the marriage pov but rest of the video felt constant yapping. If you like a movie go watch it it's not that deep besides it's your fault that you're only watching only commercial movies.
There's a reason why Bandit Queen was R-rated it doesn't glorify violence it's about oppression, movies like KGF, Salaar, almost every south movies openly glorifies romanticises Violence you can see the impact if you ever been to banglore or Hyderabad taxi drivers are so fucking aggressive. There're even cases of public thrashing of people who didn't like their favourite star's movie and spoke about it.
And about public display of love and hook up culture and relationships before marriage. It's not Bollywood's influence time changes so does the customs and traditions. Have you ever been to Kerala or even Bangalore people here are more open to dating and hook ups so according to your theory tell me how many bollywood movies did they watch.
You said these things shouldn't be norms for you to say that I must presume you are virgin and never had a girlfriend in your life otherwise you are just a hypocrite and somewhat a incel judging people what they should and shouldn't do.

I'm from Odisha. Back those days what was entertaining in the marriage rituals are the arguments between the priests from the bride & groom side. We never had those Sangeet, Haldi blah blah culture. Even in engagement, the mother of the groom would come & insert a ring in the fingers of the would be bride. Then in the marriage rituals, the priests from both sides would have conversations, arguments etc & we would try to calm & pacify them. But since 8-10 years, we've noticed Odia marriage now is following the Bollywood route of Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet, pre wedding & post wedding photo shoots. We don't have rituals of exchanging garlands or taking 7 rounds of havan🔥. But now a days, all these have been incorporated. The bride coming to the groom with an umbrella supported by 4 people (may be the bride's brothers, sisters friends etc) was NEVER a tradition in Odia culture but now a days it is done. We never had a function of Haldi, Mehndi Sangeet etc but now we OUGHT 2 organise/participate. Hardly anyone knows the meaning, relevance, purpose of the shlokas the priest chant while the wedding ceremony is in progress.
Inspired from movies, we too yell at the priest claiming "Aur kitne mantra padhoge Pandit G ?? 500 Rs diye hain na" & at a later stage, inspired from another movie (probably OMG) we too are 🤔🤔 arre haan yaar ye pandit log jo mantra padhte hain, uska matlab kya hai ??
Also, only Bollywood shouldn't be blamed for it. All regional film industries are equally responsible.

Courtesy to Indian film industry, there have been advertisements, short films claiming that *Kanyadaan* ritual is an Evil or sin. What people don't know that Kanyadaan is a source of sacrifice, the highest degree of sacrifice which a Man can give & the groom family will be indebted for this the whole life. Just because people take it in a wrong way as well as demand a Huge Dowry doesn't mean the ritual is sin. Similarly there are ads showing the bride as well as groom enter the 🏠 with red dye under their foot to leave a mark claiming that with the bride, the groom is also doing *Griha Pravesh* which is totally false. The bride after marriage is assumed to be Mata Lakshmi who'll bring happiness & prosperity in a house where the groom lives. Which mean the Man *Alone* cannot bring happiness & prosperity, he requires a Woman to do that. But all these are taken in a negative sense. People say film industry ne hame barbaad kar diya. Film industry would claim, hum toh wohi dikha rahe hain jo ho raha hai.

Culture is a Group of Changing practices. Culture changes with time. But, we took it too seriously, that's not right. Because culture meant to be a Social thing, but there's always a Individual personality In every person. We shouldn't force anything upon anyone to follow. Because anyone could have there preferences, so we should respect there choices until they are affecting social harmony. Also, we are seeking truth. And Truth/God is not based on Your cultural practices, it is based on what are you seeking in your inner side. That's it.

Those movies like PK and OMG were rare and far & between. Bollywood has always commercialised and glorified hinduism to its fullest and metaphorically chewed off the bones. Whether that's in movies or cinema, questioning religious superstition and culture has always been vilified and looked down upon. The glorified weddings, caste discrimination are some of the examples of that. There is no proof that the newer generation thinks following your religious is uncool. Yes, the younger generations are less religiously orthodoxy, that's because of easier access to education. Not bollywood.

    Nice explaination.
Its almost laughable this thing happening due to manipulation(more like to copy acts from films etc).It comes from (Bollywood) movies rather which traditionally blamed due to games like it increases violence in kids etc, but the culture seem to forget how bad it has impacted the generation(I know everyone is not same) but due to idol worship and imitation of idol leads to these incidents which is saddening in an aspect too.

Some movies inspire you about a specific person. For example the recent movie on Sam Manekshaw.
At the end some people have the ability to think beyond and majority of people cannot do that. The marketing and all is responsible for this. Also bollywood was the only source of entertainment earlier so iska kaafi deep impact hai

  • @Ross__Boss
    @Ross__Boss Před 4 měsíci +3

The impact thing is just baseless. You have to look at the complete Indian cinema man. I know that hating bollywood is going to give you more watching and reach, cause many people like seeing stuff like this, but this isnt right.
The influence thing is like saying, "If your friend jumps down a building, will you jump down too?" The youngsters have to be educated by their parents, teachers, by the indian education system. Films are a source of entertainment. South Films have so much of gore, and have had stuff like this for so long. They dont even hide that type of stuff like bollywood does at times. And the objectification, my god!!! The white actress thing is just so damn true for this part. And about the dark-completion of the actors, well then nawaz and johnny lever will have to leave his job right?
Look at the indian cinema as a whole, dont target a single industry like this. I really like your content and want to keep watching it. But you have to save your content now...

"Agreed with the marriage pov but rest of the video felt constant yapping.
