Suor Angelica is one of the three one-act operas in Il trittico. Soprano Elena Stikhina sings the role of the main character Suor Angelica, a woman who is banished to a convent after giving birth to an illegitimate baby. There, seven years later, she learns that her son has died. In desperation, she falls apart.

This is ok, and one could only wish she (among many others) could understand she’s a full lyric and should avoid heavier roles but…

Agree. This part suites her voice type. But Aida, Brünnhilde, Tosca she should avoid. Her voice carries well in the theatre, but is essentially lyric.
