Under the rules in 2007 if a period was scoreless they would goto a 30 second "Clinch" which they would draw a red or blue ball out a bag and let the wrestler with the corresponding colored singlet to the ball pulled from the bag initiate the clinch. Any score ends the period, and if no score happens in the 30 sec then he defensive wrestler wins the period.

No longer, now it goes by criteria of the points scored and cumulative score for the 2 periods

We are all glad UWW got rid of this silly way to determine the winner of a match. I would rather see OT over criteria, but this rule was total dookie.

man wrestling has some dumb ass rules they make the wrestlers try out.. that leg clinch dumb.. and the light weight eliminations.. also ridiculous.
