Pacific Crest Trail | Episode Seven

After leaving Ashland we made our way through the final miles of trail in Oregon. We crossed the Oregon/California border and were almost immediately greeted by cows, deer, a bear cub and lots of sun exposed hiking over rocky terrain. The wildfires burning in California have been producing quite a bit of smoke over the past couple weeks and can be quite thick at times. Some days the wind blows the smoke away and other times it is a thick blanket we have to walk through. We are hoping the firefighters working on the fires have some good luck and conditions over the next couple weeks and that the fires are all able to be controlled. We took a couple days rest in Mt. Shasta and are looking forward to getting back on trail after our couple days of good rest and food.
