Kuala Lumpur to Penang, Malaysia - We were planning to visit Penang during our travels in Malaysia and heard that you can take a train. After a little research, we found that there is an affordable business class ticket you can buy and even get food as a part of the trip.
So, in this episode I wanted to show you our train ride from KL to Penang and all the food we have during our travels. We started off with a white coffee in the Ruby Lounge at the KL Sentral Station. When you get a business class ticket, you also get access to this lounge to sit comfortably and also have private elevator access to the train when boarding.
Once on the train we got a snack, which I called breakfast. Then lunch was served, and a snack was offered about an hour before our arrival to Butterworth. The train doesn’t go to Penang, as Penang is an island. But when we arrived in Butterworth train station, there were signs directing us to the ferry terminal. There we purchased a ticket and rode the ferry to Penang.
This was a relaxing and fun way to travel for 4 ½ hour ride, and it went by so fast. If you are ever in Kuala Lumpur and want to travel to Penang, consider taking the train.

Price may vary between $30 to $35 for business class seating. Be sure to book ahead of time, as there is only one car for business class and seats may run out.
Ferry tickets we purchased at the ferry terminal. Price is very minimal for a seat. Less than a dollar.

If business class is $30, how much is the economy class?
If I remember correctly, I think it was like $18. Business Class gets filled up, so you'll want to reserve in advance.
I thought when you go business food is inclusive
