- In this panel discussion on the Chainlink 2.0 whitepaper, Chainlink Co-founder Sergey Nazarov and Ari Juels, Lorenz Breidenbach, and Andrew Miller from the Chainlink Labs Research Team dive into the major technical advancements of their newly published research, exploring how Decentralized Oracle Networks (DONs) are redefining the capabilities of smart contract applications and accelerating the pace of innovation in the blockchain industry. From hybrid smart contracts and the decentralized metalayer to Chainlink 2.0’s novel super-linear staking mechanism, the co-authors walk through the expansive vision of the whitepaper and share their outlook for the broader societal impact that will follow from this leap forward in smart contract innovation.

8:25 Which functionalities of hybrid smart contracts interest you most?
20:57 Understanding super-linear staking

45:35 How will hybrid smart contracts transform the world?
Chainlink is the industry standard oracle network for connecting smart contracts to the real world. With Chainlink, developers can build hybrid smart contracts that combine on-chain code with an extensive collection of secure off-chain services powered by Decentralized Oracle Networks.

Gonna take time, but we’re gonna make it
Literally watching history.
You are amazing guys, thanks for all this. I love the idea of chainlink and hybrid smart contracts! The future depends on people like you and I want to be an active part of it.
We’re all gonna make it!
I'm fortunate to watch this before next Monday
Thank you, gentlemen!
We are all in this Together Frens
Great panel!
What are the computational challenge for the decentralized chainlink dons ?

Sorry for basic question here. How is it known who was honest and who lied?
To my understanding, the act of the minority node raising a flag triggers a secondary DON to verify who is correct, which is more costly but much harder for the adversary to corrupt. The 2nd DON can be configured all kinds of ways to make it more secure than the "production" DON. The minority node would be punished for falsely raising a flag so it's in everybody's interest to be honest
I really like chainlink🐸

Link hodlers will be taken care of. 😊
Lets gooo 🚀🔥
Amazing! Finally get to understand a bit of this 2.0! Is there any other videos for newbies to help us understand LINK a bit faster?
Comment for algorithm - more ppl need to see this
My entire trading strategy since the 1980’s has been based on front running.

Impressive.
Keep up the great work!
Imagine being able to explain these concepts this intelligently and read these comments at the same time without laughing

Ready to take off 🚀🚀

Which programming languages are most used in bulding chainlink and smart contracts?
Golang
Rust is popular with a lot of the Web 3.0 stuff tho (Polkadot)
Solidity
STAKING FINALLY (I HOPE) (PLS)

@@tyler5543 that doesnt make sense
from where they are going to pay then for staking?
Greetings from Spain!
👍🏼👍🏼
SIUUUUUUUUUUUUUU 🤩
Regarding the super linear staking example, if 9/10 nodes have lied, how do we know they're lying? How do we know it's not 9/10 told the truth and 1/10 lied?
you can cross reference chainlink with other oracles like UMA, BAND, etc
There's another "watchdog" Chainlink DON which can cross check the nodes it there is sufficient evidence to file a complaint with data tamperinf/false data delivery etc
It's in the whitepaper 2.0 somewhere, apologies for not knowing the exact reference
You better be sorry 😡

I think that Ari kid is going places. Seems perky and precocious. Chainlink is lucky to have him.
Contracts trigger contracts = solved
👋👏👏👍👌😊
Probably #1 asset in the world by market cap in a not too distant future.
What are the actual link tokens utilized for? Most of this just sounds like a networking layer of blockchain.
@@loupizza22 yes, I'd like to know that as well. The arbitrum launch will be very useful to eth, but what does any of it have to do with the Link token?
Tokens are used to pay node operators for retrieving data for smart contracts and also for deposits placed by node operators as required by contract creators.
I.e. the token is the exclusive currency that can be used to buy a ticket to off chain data
@@larsivar123 what are the chances that in the future nodes will be paid in another currency? What is the risk of these technologies evolving to serve big business rendering the value of my token worthless? I would be perfectly comfortable putting all my eggs in the Link basket but just don’t fully understand how this will play out
