Hi everyone! With the newest version of the phonemizer, using English voicebanks has never been easier! I also created a tutorial for using VCCV English in Classic UTAU, for anyone who may prefer working there (but I would personally recommend using OpenUTAU).
Anyway, I hope you found this video helpful. Enjoy using English in UTAU!

**Sorry for the mic quality, I was lazy and didn't want to get out my good mic, so I just recorded using my headset mic! - Hudba
Lol. Excelent song choice. Thanks for making this tutorial. I learned a lot about what to do about lots of the problems I was having. Especially, changing those pesky phonemes. To add to the looping resampler part, that could also be fixed with adjusting the oto parameters. Unfortunatly, while that would be the more permanent and flexible solution, that would make things more tedious to reoto an entire English Voicebank.
depending on the length of the recording (for dipthongs in particular), it may not be the best idea. the seamless looping area may end up being incredibly tiny. it would also sound awful if you decided to use such a voicebank with a stretching resampler!
ok nice but where's the chug jug ust?
Jk but this is super helpful and the overhaul adds a lot of QoL to english for OpenUTAU! Thank you for your work!
It's actually the .vsq my friend used for his Big Al "Chug Jug" cover but he didn't release it publicly :( I'm so glad you found this helpful though, thanks!! It's my pleasure ☺
This tutorial is super useful! I've never used this phonemizer but I'm now super interested in using it. Thanks for making these types of videos!
Yaayy! It makes me so happy to hear you found this helpful!!! ☺💕
you can also use this with x-sampa and arpasing voicebanks. you need to change the phonemizer (in the beginning) to whatever you need.
This was the tutorial I was looking for but I was also anxiously waiting to hear the fortnite song ahaha
Thanks so much for this tutorial btw!
Thank you for this tutorial !
my pleasure!! 😊
for some reason i cant get the eng vb i wanna use (teto eng) to install into openutau... i can see the vb is installed when i look in my singer folder but when i go to the drop down menu to actually use it, it wont show up-
How do you put english voicebanks in, I've clicked on install singer and tried to put in teto's english vb but it keeps saying unsupported file format
should I use the VCCV phonemizer if I decide to give away my ust?
as long as the .ustx is using dictionary words and using + to break syllables, it should be compatible with the other english phonemizers too :-)
1:38 phoneme crossfades aren't showing for me :(
make sure you have the VCCV Eng phonemizer selected and that the voicebank you're using VCCV :O
What's the difference between open utau and utau ?
im not too sure either but i think openutau is just kind of a more modern and easier to use version of utau
OpenUTAU is community-built and open source with so many features that Classic UTAU lacks entirely. like multi-track, dictionary+phonemizer support for many languages, DiffSinger, dedicated expressions and parameter editing section, realtime wavform view, vsqx import, voice colors, and many more.
