  • We would all prefer a reliable car... Though the Mazdaspeed 3 and Speed 6 both have quite a lot of potencial issues. This is how to solve all reliability issues on a Mazdaspeed 6/3 MPS.
    Any mazda speed common problems or MPS reliability issues are hopefully trying to be sold. This is all about mazdaspeed relibility.

      I tune it for more power at stock rpm so that the stock whp will be in the lower rpm with the same peak boost level for reliability if it makes any sense😅

      I'll tune it for less power to get better mileage and to get used to the car better since it's my second car, first car being a škoda favorit (0-60 in 15 seconds at best lmao)

    08 Speed 3. 117k miles. still running strong. Stock turbo. But changed Stock intercooler, Cold air intake, straight piped, changed fuel rail and injectors, Turbosmart BPV, Cork sport injector seals (I highly recommend).
    Just oil changes and fluid flushes. I don't driver it hard either.

    2013 BL - 50k miles on it
    everything stock except : Airtec tmic and catback exhaust.
    No mods bolt on etc
    I had to replace the turbo as it was dying on me other then that, 4k oil change visit track days all the time, drive the car very hard. Set of tires every 10k miles tops.
    Reliable car no issues

      Same here😂 i want so bad an speed6 i find some of them but they have like 80-120k miles i dont know man i think im gonna buy it and rebuild some day with forced parts and keep it like 300-400hp

      @@yamahatownmate8476 Never found one bro. I gave up the search. They're rare in my area. I was looking for a 2010+ but they're too expensive for the millage. It's understandable with inflation and all that. You cant even get a 6th gen civic for under 3k anymore. Maybe in the future. Good luck

    Mine is stock at 104k miles. No issues besides some spark plug misfires. I don’t plan on getting mods for it. I don’t race with it it’s my work/school car and that’s really about it. I hope this thing can run to 200k with little to no issues

    Sick helpful Video. I got a BK one week ago and I love it. EGR delete and catch can + new motor mount are my first upgrades. One question though, what are doing about the water in the catch can freezing to ice during winter and blocking it?

      Ay nice car bro! Thoughts are some good mods to do! I can't say I know what to do with freezing in the catch can, as I live in a country that doesn't snow :(
      Maybe could you like take it out and rest it in a bowl of (comparitivly) warm water to make it melt?

      @@LifeOfTuners We get like -15 or even -20°C here in South Germany near the Alps (5°Fahrenheit).
      It will stay frozen, that's my concern 😂

      You could make an oil or coolant line out of ss that spirals around the catch can to melt the ice

      @@LifeOfTuners Ahh a Kiwi! I've been Road tripping in NZ for 4 months, saw the whole country. The coldest I experienced there was near Queenstown -6°C. U guys have crazy roads, I was constantly pushing my Campervan Mitsubishi chariot grandis 😂👍🏻 I've never seen so many rubber marks on the road as well, Whangarei Area is wild.

    sold my 2nd gen I miss it but my close friend has it! Tuned by Justin on 93 20 psi my homie just hit 140k miles and no issues :) He and I both did and do 3k oil changes 5w-40 and constantly checking up on maintenance

    People for get about one of the most things about turbo engines.... fuel quality. Constantly used regular unleaded will cause the engine parts run hotter. Over time weakening the metal.

      And honestly I wouldn't recommend it, these engines are quite finicky, and require a tuner that knows exactly how to tune these and how they react

    About the low down torque.
    Is that another reason why the EJ207 is more reliable than the EJ257?

      I'd assume so yes, torque is what kills an engine, and you always make the most torque down low

    I run a balance shaft delete did Hastings king bearings rotella oil deleted the oil filter housing and did spin on oil filter and 50/50 bypass valve. And timing chain from a 2.5 cx7 with full timing kit

      Sounds like a beast 🙏 yes good idea, some people don't realise, but the 2.5 timing set does fit and is much stronger

      All Performance Cars i don’t understand what they run suck crappy timing set up its a ticking time bomb ..... and plus the oil that people tun have lots to do woth it u run rotela and its beel flawless !!

      All Performance Cars it is a disel oil but durect injection its almost loke diselt theirs alot of stress in the combustion chambed ..... my frinds run it and its great

      usually people run about e30, due to the fact e85 requires more fuel, on these cars e30 is more efficient so you don’t run out of capacity

      Anything that's a recirculation valve if you're not wanting to have it tuned, a lot of people run GFB, CorkSport, hks, etc

    I bought a 2010 Genpu from a guy who used to auto cross, got a new motor (2.3) with good compression and decent miles, what should my starting mods be ? I have a corksport HPFP and rear and tranny engine mounts. The guy did a lot of shit to the suspension and it feels SO planted its gross lol. If i wanna keep the car reliable, what should should i swap out ?

    If you don't have E85 could you also use 100 RON or 102 RON which is offered here in Germany by Shell (V-Power 100 RON) and Aral (Ultimate 102 RON)?

      It's actually recommend by MAZDA to get Super Plus high octane fuel.

    Please no one remove the balance shaft in the name of reliability, because it definitely wont help in that area.

      Ive heard that it's good as it puts less weight and stress for the engine to turn over, making it easier to run and I can't say I've ever heard of anyone having problems because of a balance Shaft delete

    If you want a reliable Mazdaspeed3 then dont tune it.
    If you want a fast fwd car you already got a stock Mazdaspeed3 which is a fast fwd car :D
    If you want a really fast car, then you need RWD or AWD
    No point in modding ms3

      If you do it right, keep it under 300whp, you don't sacrifice too much reliability, plus a tune will be nessisary if you want to switch out the bad stock turbo

      @@LifeOfTuners I owned a 2010 speed3 for a while and it was a fun car. I’m currently driving a b series swapped civic ls bottom end with a gsr head. Pistons and rods, bearings... just bought the car from a friend who is a diesel mechanic by trade and built the car with the intention of boosting it and sold it to me because he’s 6’4 and a civic is too small for him...
