      @@momchilyordanov8190 I have that "problem," well, you can fix that problem by just not going full on pressing the gas lever, this is a must on any scooter as far as I know. Just press it hard at first, then kind of release the gas pump slightly till it kind of drips, and just keep dripping it till full. It's a common thing.

    I'm fairly certain I took home the white S model with the top box in the Vid. I have about 1,000 miles on it now and have been happy with its performance so far. Observations, I would look at the Shad & Givi top box options the Piaggio OEM is smallish in capacity and nothing special in quality over the aftermarket (no quick release option either). At 220lb after the break in I have seen 70mph on the speedo (keep in mind its 5mph optimistic via GPS) It will comfortably reach and sustain 60mph however. First service and valve adjustment is at 630 miles, it was quoted at several hours shop time and yes it does take awhile with the body panels for the 10 min valve adjustment. Tedious but not hard or technical, the oil filter is a trifle difficult to reach best to use the replacement with the hex socket end.
    The ride, it looses a bit of the "excitement" in town you get with the flickable small wheel light scooters. That said for the commuting I do in zero dark thirty the big wheels are super sure footed and much safer with abrupt road hazards that cause my 10" Buddy to cause sudden sphincter tightening 45mph+. And in the backcountry? On the 60mph bendy to the tight switchbacks... this thing is genuine sport like and holds a line like nothing else scooter... Think small bore sport bike, though while sitting in the living room easy chair and no blast out of corners engine either it does still give a reward. It's lean angle is very un scooter like and though it lacks a side stand, I wont be adding it as its great to heal over without scraping anything.
    I added a front usb socket as phone GPS needs a sustained juice source, tedious to add but not out of reach. The fuel gage manages to record the first 2/3 of the tank, its not a large capacity so I tend to use a lot of throttle and 80miles is my comfort limit before refills. One accessory I would add, The underseat (Not for Pets) PRIMA UNDERSEAT BAG, it fits like a custom part.

    • @markcard7978
      @markcard7978 Před rokem +1

      @@donaldlee6760 I did not care for it, went with a Prima basket (the rounded one that latches shut on the rear rack). I had bought it sight unseen, its considerably downsized from the vespa bubble box and IMHO not very good value. I would opt for a quick detach GIVI/SHAD solution instead, should be about the same price. I'll add I love the liberty, of the 4 scooters I have had in the past 2 years its the one I kept for daily use. I'm a flat floorboard fan and for city riding its great.

      Unfortunately they are not threaded. I was able to order bar ends from Scooter West (ones for a Vespa Primavera)- but had to drill out the holes, and then tap threads (special bit/tool that cuts threads in). It wasn't easy and several curse words were expelled, but it can be done and I think was worth it. Please note, the handle bar is not only not pre drilled/threaded, but it's solid! Obviously for vibration (more dense= less vibration)- proceed with caution.

I'm 6'03 or 184 cm tall and I found this model the tallest for a 50cc scooter compared with the Japanese which are quite small for me. Also I like the bigger wheels in this one which is convenient in bumpy roads. Japanese ones have smaller size and wheels and I think is way better a bit taller body and bigger wheels. Problem is Japanese people are small and therefore the designs are oriented for short people. Italians are bigger therefore the design of the smaller scooters are suitable for occidental men too. I think the height of the scooter is a very important deal breaker.

    The turned wheels looked good on last years. This year's encheapned wheels, not so much. I checked one out at a dealer. They are nice scooters. Though, there's no reason to but the S version anymore.
    I suspect that the stock 150cc Liberty might be faster than a stock 125cc Grom. I'd like to see a 185cc kit video, and a Grom race. : )
    If Piaggio was smart, and they are not, they would release a 175cc version for America. With a little better fork and 175cc, it would stand out in the crowd of its competitors. A little wider legshield would be make the rider feel better protected, but I suspect that they slimmed it down for better aerodynamics, but then again, because it's a scooter that will spend most of its time going slower, their point is mute.
    Perhaps the front fork oil can be changed to something a bit thicker.

    Although you say not much 50cc sales, I think soon 50cc sales will go up for one reason and one reason only. Uber eats. That's right UE gives drivers one choice and one choice only for delivering on 2 wheels and that is 49cc. Can't deliver or upload title and registration for anything bigger during signup. Funny thing, I'm in Taiwan delivering on an exotic VVA R15 engine based scooter the USA will never see because company insurance is cheap as chips over here. USA uber would never allow sport bike or big bike delivery, too much of a liability. It's amazing what VVA does to a scooter, takes off like a 300cc gets the gas mileage of a 110cc. Maybe one day USA will catch up and import yamaha 155cc VVA scooters. So yeah I'm looking at two models stateside for UE. The 2021 liberty 50 (is the 2021 Euro 4 or 5? Want to go 80cc kit but thats only for euro 4) and the genuine roughhouse 50. Both can be made to go 50mph but leaning towards the liberty because it will draw less attention and noise, something to consider after modded due to legalities. Also restaurants and customers might appreciate not smelling the two-smoke. Would the 150 engine bolt in to the 50 frame? same mounts no?
