  • Tourists to Jeju Island often prefer to get around the island in rental cars. They prefer the privacy and convenience.
    Well, now there are even more reasons to rent a car during your journey: the eco-friendly option to drive an EV, get English GPS navigation, and save money all at the same time!
    In this video, we introduce the basics on how to make the most of your EV, including the GPS function and how to charge your vehicle at the various charging stations around the island.
    As you'll see, it's pretty straightforward, but there are still some hurdles to get over. We'll walk you through it.
    For all your Jeju travel and safety information, please visit our website and follow the Jeju Tourism Organization’s social media channels.

    Hi there, thank you so much for this video! I think you might have converted me to use EV instead of Gasoline. Also thanks for the nice chat in Singapore over the weekend and the tips you gave us all at KTO Singapore. Hope to chat up with you in April 2024 when we are heading there for a week of exploration. Take care and thanks again :)

    Oh wow, this is really very helpful & informative. Thanks so much. Just planning to rent an EV during our next trip to Jeju. may I know roughly how much will it cost fully charge for a hyundai Kona EV & Kia Niro EV. I was considering between this 2 models, but i search some info online, kona EV seems like charge faster than Niro EV. Niro just have more trunk space.

      Hi, Rikku Lee! Thank you for watching our channel. Wow, you have a plan to rent an EV when you visit Jeju! How awsome :) Well, I'm not sure about the full charge cost for Kona & Niro. Because, most of EV rental shop suggest their own charging card which is normally 5,000won per day. And if you buy this card you don't have to charge back when you returning your car. FYI, if you rent for 3 days, the charging card cost will 15,000won. Some people said, when they use this card during their trip, they olnly charge once and it cost about 10,000won.) It's better to ask the EV rental shop directly ;)

    Hi I was wondering if EVs share similar requirements like the gasoline cars where we have to top-up (in the case of an EV, charge) before return of the car?
    Looking to rent a Tesla for about 2-3 days in Jeju and I think the battery should last throughout but just wondering if I have to charge it before returning it? (I'm thinking that they will have chargers back at the Lotte Auto House when we return it?)

    • @VisitJejuGlobal
      @VisitJejuGlobal  Před 2 lety

      Sorry for late reply. EVs also need to be recharged when they are returned, just like any other vehicle. But don't worry, there are so many EV charging stations in Jeju Island, it won't be difficult ;)

    Hi, very informative video thats great for my upcoming trip. A couple of questions that i have.
    1) Does the rental company give a brief description on how to charge?
    2) How do i know how much i need to charge?
    3) In the event i selected more amount than i needed eg.3000krw but my full charge is only 2300krw, will there be a balance amount refund?

    • @VisitJejuGlobal
      @VisitJejuGlobal  Před 2 lety

      Hi Vincent, hope we are not too late with the answers.
      1. Most companies will briefly tell you how to charge, but you will have to do it yourself to understand it. Or refer to this video on your trip.
      2. You will have to calculate how much to charge according to the electric consumption/how much battery is left/cost per kWh.
      3. Yes, the chargers will refund the balanced amount.

    Thank you for this informative Vlog.
    My three questions are:
    1. How much is the average parking fee at a tourist public area, and parking fee at a hotel/mall?
    2. Around how many kilometers is it to see the main sites of Jeju including the islands?
    3. When renting an EV, is it required to return the car in full EV charged? Or can it be returned as it is?
    Thank you once again.

    • @VisitJejuGlobal
      @VisitJejuGlobal  Před 7 dny

      1. Normally parkinglot in tourist attraction is free. And for public parking lot, it depends on the time and place, but it's usually cheaper than 2,000 won. Also if you rent EV car of Hybrid, fee will be half.
      2. Jeju is big island. SO how long you will drive will be depending how you plan your trip.
      If you make schedule that stay in nearby, it will be short.
      3. As I know, you don't need to.

    Hi, thanks for the informative videos, especially this one who helped me to decide in renting an EV in my Jeju trip which just ended. However, my EV charging experience was not that pleasant as the few public EV chargers that I found did not support foreign credit cards, so it gave me some difficulties in charging my EV. Luckily the homestay that I stayed had a EV charger so it kind of solved the issue in certain ways. Maybe this is something Jeju can improve on - make all or most of the public EV chargers to support foreign credit cards, so it would be more friendly for foreigners to rent a EV in Jeju, and support the Jeju Green initiatives. We had a great time in Jeju though. Thanks! :)

      Hi, rookskl! Thank you for your advice. • @VisitJejuGlobal

      There are two types of electric vehicle chargers available: fast chargers and standard (slow) chargers.
      The fast charger is the type that allows for a charging time of 1 hour.
      For standard charger you can park up to 15 hours.
      This is to prevent occupying the charging station and block other vehicles from charging.
      We kindly ask for your understanding regarding this regulation.
