i am wondering if the scout logs any trigger events .. perhaps even with a deat and time stamp and then then synch that data to the iphone app for logging storage and use.

Thanks for the great video. Out of interest, why did you turn the movement sensitivity down to the minimum setting? I assumed that would stop any movement making it alarm, but the test you did showed that’s not the case. Interested to know what the effect would be if it’s on a higher setting.

I lock this bike up at a bike rack. I don’t want the alarm to go off too easily

it is probably not likely that I would have more than 4.. but.. what if i did have more than 4 or needed to have more than 4.. Is there a work around for those situations? And also, I am wondering what if my phone get lost or stops working.. what other options do i have to disarm it?

This is really interesting. I have not seen this device anywhere else on YT. I am though curious about the battery life. I charge my eBike every other day or so and this might fit in with that routine. If though even shorter then that might be a pain.

I bought one for my teen's ebike, I was hoping they could be the primary but that I could also track the bike via "Find My" on my ios devices. Knog told me the only way to solve that use case would be to log in to my teen's iCloud account to track it, that's less than ideal. I would prefer in addition to a one phone to many Scouts option, is to have a one Scout to multiple ios devices option for passive safety tracking only.
Question about the washer for those of us who use it with a bottle cage. Does the washer go between the Scout and the bottle cage? If not where?
Thank you for your content it's really great.

      @CargoBikeLifecom  Před rokem +1

I'm hoping the "Find My Items" can be shared to apple family accounts in the future. For example, I'm able to see my partner's devices because we are "family" but they can't share an item with me which is annoying but not knogs problem.
For the washer, it goes between bottle cage and scout. Check out 9.2 on this: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0653/6773/6560/files/Scout_QSG_WEB_11822.pdf?v=10497095631206998049

Maybe you will address this in your next video but how do you find holes on the frame without drilling into the frame? I hardly have the equipment or the set up to start drilling into a bike frame. Maybe I am missing something about the install.
Also, How sensitive is the alarm. I would be parking my bike in a yard outside my flat which is used by other tenants. My last alarm lock used to beep randomly at night and ended up disturbing other tenants. My bike is quite heavy and takes a quite some wind to shake it but I do have a cover on it so I wonder, on a gusty nigh, if it might shift a bit with the cover catching the gusts and set off the beeps or even the alarm. That would be a deal breaker for me as I ended up having to stop using the Abus Alarm lock.
Finally, am I right in understanding that the alarm sounds on the bike and on the phone? My main use for this would be as an alarm for when my bike is parked just outside my flat. The phone would be about 8-9 meters from the bike/device and I want the alarm to wake me if the bike is tampered with. My bike was stolen once and returned by the police, then an attempted theft foiled by an alert neighbor. At the moment it sits in my tiny office with me but I do look for a way to get it out into the yard again.
If you could address these in the next video it would be very much appreciated.

Can you test how the user experience is for a bike with a knog scout where two different people use it? Would it be equally convenient for both people?

Hmmm... my first thought was that those "security" screws were easily defeated with a simple pair of needle nose pliers. Maybe I am wrong, but didn't seem very secure. Maybe this is something you could test.

I mean honestly a hammer could break the thing. I don’t think it’s a long term theft deterrent.

I have a few more things to test, but I look at this as a first layer of defense. Alarm and then “is my bike still there?” It doesn’t replace good locks or a hidden GPS but is a better option than a stand alone AirTag

Please explain where the washers go if you install them with a water bottle holder. You left that off and assumed we would know what to do. And, of course, one would leave off the cover, which is obvious. I will look at other videos that explain what I asked.

I am locked out of the App … no customer service … i tried resetting password via email but the App still responded with incorrect credentials … the alarm will not turn off .. very frustrating ,,, removed from bike .. and looking for alternative … the bottom line … you pay for what you get … cheap solution!
