What's New in Korg Modwave v2.0? Exploring Version 2.0 Features

Korg have introduced version of the firmware for the Korg Modwave. The update includes some great new features plenty of fixes. In this video I explore the changes to the Modwave:

Free Running LFOs: The highly-requested Free Running LFOs feature has been introduced, allowing for continuous modulation without re-triggering.
New Modifiers: Version 2.0 introduces a variety of new modifiers, including random modifiers, Pitch Bend+, Pitch Bend-, and others, adding dynamic elements to sound design.
Kaoss Modifiers Upgrade: The Kaoss pad now features X+, X-, Y+, and Y- sources, offering expanded control options for manipulating various destinations.
Wavetable Display Update: The Wavetable display now shows real-time modulation effects, offering a visual representation of how modulation influences the wavetable.
Master Effect Routing: Users can now send the output of a layer before the layer volume is applied, providing precise control over effects in the mix.
Aftertouch Options: Poly Aftertouch can now be utilized in Utility Controller settings, enabling control over existing aftertouch modulation routings without creating dedicated Poly AT routings.

Thats a cool little trick to use the damper as a extra button through triggers I didn't think of that one yet so far I used a expression pedal+midi in to control one of the mod knobs for that but that takes away one of your mod options

Yes its nice trick, I really want to try poly aftertouch next.

@@IanDixonTDL I have a ESI Xjam which fits exactly next to the modwave on my stand due to its small size, currently I only use it to hold notes with toggle mode but I intend to also use it for poly after touch in the future as well

@@IanDixonTDL unrelated to this video , but do you have any tips in finding the right effects besides going through all of them every time? on my mini freak the names make sense.. long, room, big room ect. but with the modwave there are so many more and half of them seem to have names that don't make any sense (to me atleast) and i cant find any descriptions/notes

@@MrBattlehunter Your right the names are often linked to the performance they go with. I tend to go for a few basics. What would be better is to make my own with names like the mini freak has and I then I could use them with my sounds. I think I am going to do that, I could do a video on that.
