- Trying to fit in can always be difficult, sometimes you dont know where to start so I have put together the most common of the witch types. Maybe one of these will resonate with you as you go down your witchcraft path. You might start as a green witch, then decide that Wicca is more your style. Or you could try being a satanic witch then realise that what you really want is to learn crystal witchcraft. There are so many different types of witch and here I want to tell you all about the most known.

I almost cried when you said being a Christian witch was a perfectly natural thing. Im a Christian by faith but am realising I'm a witch by nature, and its wretchedly hard to find the kind of information, or even validation, of being a Christian witch thats out there for many of the other types

Im an eclectic, solitary, Christian witch from these lists. (Not in the woods though just without a coven). Interesting takes.
I believe I will be a Eclectic Witch, but for starters I’m a Crystal Witch. I’m looking forward to learning about as much as I can 🩵
I call myself a Grey witch, neither black or white. Not wiccan, more solitary. I faced demons, or use crystals, or cooking spells, divination, use nature, elements whatever is needed for each situation really. I try not limit myself. I have a heritage but, it was never taught as they died before I was old enough to learn. All my teaching has come from meeting ancestors in the Spirit. It's so wonderful to meet other practitioners online & see what I've been taught is practiced by others. My daughter & I are on the same path. We decided that books weren't for us. So individually, we reached out to our ancestors. After a couple of weeks we were taken to our ancestors in Spirit. I said to her " don't tell me - draw it" we both came back with identical drawings & an identical demon enemy. It couldn't enter the boundaries of the ancestors & was really angry that we were there! I was asking for advice on the old ways & there you were, next day on my timeline!
Many Native American people also believe in ancestor spirit guides.
I think I am an eclectic witch. I am (in my humble opinion) quite a good self-taught cook. I also love working with plants and herbs and nature in general. I also have some psychic abilities and prophetic dreams and visions. Thank you for this wonderfully enlightening video!
I consider myself an “Alchemist” and/or an “Elemental Practitioner”.
I work with the energy of the four elements, Osho Zen Tarot, crystals & stones, the wheel of the year, the moon phases, candles, meditation, intuitive dance and chanting to do solo “Spiritual Rituals” and “Sacred Ceremonies”. (My practice is always alone).
I also love crafting sacred geometry circles at the ocean or in the redwoods using items from nature (stones, sticks, pinecones, dried fruit and berries, sycamore balls, herbs, fresh & dried flowers, seashells, nuts, seeds etc.) as love/healing/gratitude offerings to Mother Earth and for the insects and animals to enjoy.
My ancestor alter (photos, offerings & prayers to them) is also an important part of my practice.
What some call “spells” I call “intention practices” or “manifestation jars”
I find using this language helps keep my practices under the radar and more accepting of narrow minded family, friends and co workers. (They just think of me as a spiritual hippy)
Also I am strongly called (through meditation) to scatter things where they don’t belong such as pinecones under apple trees, acorns under sycamore trees, sycamore tree balls under redwood trees etc. to both regenerate the earth and also to make people question their reality who come upon it.
…that being said my daughter calls me a “Broom Closet Witch” 😂.🤷🏻♀️

I would consider myself a hedge witch, but also eclectic as I am drawn to herbs, potions, candle magick and crystals. After repressing my authentic self for 36 years, I have only recently begun my witchcraft journey and am still in the broom closet. (I am hoping to come out to my loving husband but after a few more manifestation 555 journal entries.) My realization of my witch identity was a few months back. I had started a new job at a brand new company and worked very closely with the same few people everyday. My dear colleagues are so sweet, I absolutely adore them despite the fact I am a good decade their senior. We chat all the time about what would be going well and what wasnt going well at work, what we wish we could change, etc. Well, the first time I manifested something I didn't think anything of it. But it kept happening, I kept manifesting things and I still don't know that I would have recognized it to this day if it wasn't for my sweet, hip, Gen Z colleagues who, on my second manifestation, called it to my attention. "Woo hoo! Way to manifest that, Bri!" Oh. "Oh", I thought. "Yeah, I guess I did totally call that, didn't I?". Ginny, I kid you not when I said that after about 9 or 10 times of manifesting things and getting recognized for it, that the realization just hit me like a ton of bricks. "I'm a witch!", I realized. And the moment I admitted that to myself was the moment everything started becoming so much clearer and a weight felt lifted. I'm sure I am describing the feeling quite inadequately. But it just made sense, and everything I remembered from years past, things such as saying to people "I told you!", or "I told you that would happen! I Called it!" hundreds of times over, all the way to things from my youth, like when as a child I would communicate quite freely with a spirit I felt inside me (who, in my child's mind decided to name Alex, after my cousin who shared my birthday). I remember when I tried to describe this spirit to my mom, who either didn't understand or didn't take seriously, would dismiss it. Eventually I stopped communicating with "Alex". As I got older, I tried to go to church and convince myself this experience was the Holy Spirit but, alas, church and scrict Christianity beliefs didn't suit. Now, here I am, another decade past my church phase. Married to my darling husband, and have two lovely children and starting a new job at a new company where my young and supportive coworkers jolted me into realizing who I really am. ❤

What a wonderful video. I put myself as a beginner older hedgewitch, and the elemental side calls me, but a bit eclectic too. For years I've felt drawn to wanting to understand demonology but have never truly acted upon it, I've suppressed it for one reason or another. I love your videos and your mannerisms, you are so easy to listen too. I'm at a stage in my life that I'm going to let my true self out and get on with it. Much love and witchy blessings.

I am honestly a combination of them all. But what I've dedicated myself to most is crystals and herbs, plants. Runes. Divination, nature, I am eclectic always... high Priestess, daughter of the dark moon ( lit. Was born under a DARK moon). Never liked lables, they hav3 a way of limiting one, all in moderation for if one has a specific niche more power too her but do not limit yourself. I speak from my own experience.

I am a medium so hedge witch is first and foremost. But anyone who enters my woodsy cottage and falls under its spell would call me a cottage witch. Strongly people often fall asleep they are so peaceful. I do ceramony under every full moon and so I guess I am an elemental witch as well. No matter the type..witches are not boring!

Hi Ginny love your videos! I am currently a practicing witch but used to believe witchcraft was evil. During my time as a Christian minister, I exorcised demons from both people and homes. Now that I am a witch, I think it would be really cool to learn how to do these things from a witchcraft perspective. It would be amazing if you made a video about this topic!

I feel I am an elemental witch 😊 I never realized how much I blend the elements together in my craft! I also found out I have the ability to banish demons and can sense them when present.

When I 1st started out I thought I had to pick a specific type of witch but I knew I was drawn into all aspects and the more I learned I was told I was Eclectic because I was drawn to a little of it all. Just recently I found a Christian Witch Forum on social media and loving the freedom it has given to practice my spirituality and craft. I consider myself a Green Christian Witch . Blessings to you! Hi Ginny! I'm a beginner witch, and I have found your videos very informative and inspiring! I have this hourglass (it's really a fancy 10-minute timer haha), but I use it almost everyday for my mood, to help me fall asleep, protection, and just for tipping it over to watch the sand run out. I feel hourglasses are a very nice item for witchcraft, as they have a nice energy, and they to me feel like I'm safe and reliable. I also charge my crystals with my hourglass, by tipping it over and placing the crystal on top of the timer, letting the energy from the sand flow into the crystal, purifying it and charging it up. So, basically, I'm recommending an hourglass for your witchcraft, should you want one!

Hah, demonologist! Well I sometimes refer to myself as exorcist witch and often end up in the same lane as you (fighting with rather unfriendly entities with sinister intentions).
I usually use term hedge witch as main label but eclectic exorcist witch would be more precise (and sounds badass).
I'm (at least) 3rd generation witch - hard to say for sure if my greatgrandparents practiced as they died before I was born. Back in a days people don't call themselves witches as openly as today, so hard to tell. My grandma was definitely green/hedge witch, mom is hedge witch, and my aunt is telling everybody that she is not a witch, but noone believes her (maybe - just maybe - she would appear less of a witch if she won't have so much magical items and protections around all house). From father side, both him and grandma were very catholic, but in the same time both of them were very much into kitchen witchery (my dad was proof that you don't have to be good cook to be kitchen witch - his potions worked but darn, they tasted awful!), divination, astrology and herbalism (grandma)

It's so funny you day you're a demonologist when it was my Love for Ed and Lorraine Warren that got me interested in the paranormal and then down the road lead to witchcraft. Originally I thought they weren't fans of witches but I did see one documentary with them where they worked with a Wiccan. Either way I still admire them and their work they helped so many people. I'm a green hedge witch... and I'm drawn to work with magical power spots, ancient sites. I would like to combine those, but don't have an idea, how to do so yet.
So I've said for years that I was a Solitary Green Witch. HOWEVER, I do believe I am more of a Solitary Eclectic Witch. I use what I like, but love my herbs, gardens and forrests, and I work hard to ensure the vibrations in my home stay warm and inviting.
So interesting, your job. I avoid demons and bad things... I'm good at hiding from them. My daughter, who inherited most of my energy, can force nasties out by just filling the area with her energy. However, she also avoids really bad things. To be able to confront such things. So cool!

Loved this video, it’s very informative, thank you. There is a Dutch lady on you tube who is also a demon witch. It’s a very interesting path but not my calling. However, I do believe in demons and have experienced their ‘feeding’ presences a few times in my life. I guess it’s good to know that there is someone watching out for us.

I don’t talk in my sleep or blurt out things asleep or as I’m waking. So I thought I should pay attention to what I blurted out and explore that.
Naturally I am a white witch, a Lemurian Lightworker, a cottage witch, crystal witch, hedge witch. As for elemental, I work w light, my inner light (spirit?) my magic works best in using energy w/in focusing on my intention & as a writing witch. Things hold powerfully when I write them down. does this just all mean I’m eclectic???
I resonate w pagan (as it is our first religion), but not sure how I feel about worshipping the Gods & Goddesses etc…
I’d love to harness the practice of kitchen witch in combo as earth & green witch because I am a RAW vegan (not at all similar to vegan) I eat only raw fruits, veggies, nuts (not peanuts though), seeds & herbs. I’m always solitary in all I do simply because no one does what I do, nor r they interested. Id ALWAYS been odd & have ALWAYS loved that about myself. As a teen I researched a lot. I thought I was a green witch, but as I read about the religion, Gods & Goddesses & about praying to (for example) the tree or tree god asking if & saying thank u before cutting it down or taking a leaf or branch from it, it didn’t feel right for me. I feel badly in hurting nature & rather gather what I find on the ground than hurting a live thing by detaching it from where it’s growing & living. I’m sure I don’t have the best understanding of the types of witches like green Witchery though & looking/ open to learning.
As a teen I learned all I could, but life got busy & now at age 39 I’m returning back to it all trying to find my way & looking to reinvent myself as a mature woman (who still doesn’t have it all figured out yet), but I’m no longer the depressed angry teen driven by ego anymore.
I’m open to guidance, tips, insights, suggestions etc.

I had a watch - really enjoyed it. I like that you're not hyperspecific about a lot of these because of course everyone's path is shaped around them. Personally, I'm a pagan, but a lot of my magic is centred around the elements - particularly Water. I also work with a lot of nature spirits. I tend to consider myself as a nature witch, rather than a green witch as a primarily identify with the element of water. However recently I have felt drawn towards the cottage path and have been allowing myself the time to read about it.

Is there anything like a healing witch? Not necessarily in a purely green witch way (potions, teas, etc) but in a more....energy way? That's what I feel drawn towards being. Someone who soothes physical/mental/emotional troubles. I'm not sure if that makes sense or exists. I feel drawn towards auras/spells/cleansing/protection/love etc.
I have no idea what type of witch I may be. I do know that whatever it is, I'm not very good at it. But most (not all) things witchy do interest me. I don't like anything satanic or anything to do with dark arts or demons (no offense). So I'm not sure what I type of witch to call myself, if I were to call myself an actual witch.

Hello Ginny. Merry meet! I am a beginner witch in the U.S. I am really drawn to nature. I am learning about the path of the Green Witch as it seems to match my interests and that it will fulfill my spiritual needs. I feel at peace, grounded, and energized among the trees and wildlife in the forest. I also love water, from the smallest creek to the wide open ocean...quite fitting for this Capricorn!😉 I am interested in learning about herbs and natural remedies, but have not pursued that avenue yet. I have a spiritual connection with nature, and have a few books on green witchcraft, which certainly resonate with me, but after watching this, I am not sure if I am a green witch or an elemental witch. Would you be willing to provide me more detail/differences between the two, please? I don't think that there is much of a difference, it very much depends on what you want - you can be both - I practice all sorts

So, I have a question that no one seems to have the answer to.
What exactly differentiates a occult practitioner from a witch? Are they the same thing?
Definitely the same thing, especially nowadays. Previously a witch was much more a ‘type’ (think witches of Salem) and an occult practitioner was someone who had interest in the occult and dabbled in it, but was not female!!

Do you have a high power or deities you believe in or is your deity and believe just in Mother Earth. Just wondering what you where raised to believe in if any? And why did your family send you to a religious type school if you don't mind me asking? I mean no disrespect at all but I have watched several almost all your videos because I do love your energy and personality and how your give history and educational information to help people learn proper knowledge. I feel myself contacting to you and can resonating with you. I love nature and our earth and I am a earth sign of Taurus ♉🐂 LoL 😉 I am solitary eclectic witch started as a Wiccan. I was raised in a christain home and family and strong believe of christainty. I've found that hard to sway from it makes me feel wrong or bad but I feel I was born as a witch I've always known from a very young age I was different and I experience and things that where not of just concerned normal. But I do know when my mother had me she had to have a emergency c sections and she stopped breathing for 3 mins or so and my adopted big sister said that I stopped breathing and the doctor's worked on me for 30 minutes and brought me back. I do also have a learning disability caused from my birthday so I am so so VERY Grateful for you and your teachings here.
