How to clean your Honeywell Turbo Force® HT900 or HT908 products.
What you will need: Phillips Head screwdriver and a soft damp cloth.
Be sure to unplug your fan before cleaning. Lay your fan gently face down on a flat sturdy surface. Locate the 5 screws found on the back grille. Each screw can be loosened by unscrewing each head to the Left.
Once all screws have been loosened, slowly lift the fan into an upright position using the back carrying handle. Do not lift up to quickly as screws may fall out. Separate the front grille along the seam where the screws are located.
Use your damp cloth to wipe the fan grilles and blade. Now that we’ve finished cleaning our unit, find the 5 screws and lay the fan down on its back.
Place the front grille onto the unit lining up the notch in the grille with the notch along the bottom of the fan. Once everything is aligned, carefully flip fan over so it is front face down. Insert each screw one at a time and using your Phillips Head screwdriver, gently tighten.
You should be all set to start using your fan again. Thank you for choosing Honeywell Fans for your cooling needs.

Great fan. Though, you guys should make the spots that hold the screws a lot more shallow so more screwdriver options can be used to open it.

I agree with you. They do the same thing with printers. Once the ink waste pads are full, it turns your printer into a brick and you cannot use it at all unless you buy third party software to reset it and put in an external waste tank, but that isn't common knowledge. I learned the same thing with vacuums. You can't even replace the belt on some models without replacing the entire head. Makes me mad too and it's no wonder why the landfills are full.

There should be a plastic pressure washer that holds the blades on. You can remove it, but you have to slightly damage the washer when doing that. But it can be reused. If you do t want to go that route, you can always easily clean both sides of the blades with a damp paper towel and your hand while the blades are still attached. I would recommend a vac with a bristle attachment for the grilles.

Since purchasing it, czcams.com/users/postUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.

Thank you so much for this tutorial, Honeywell! I have wondered for a couple of years how I could take this fan apart and clean it. Now I know!
The crazy comments and complainers almost convinced me it was too hard....lol But my regular Phillips head screwdriver took the screws right out. I washed the grill in a sink of soapy water. Then used various methods to clean the blade and motor. The whole process from start to finish took 30 minutes!
Now that I know how to do it, I can clean it a couple of times a year to keep it looking like new.

Here is what you'll need: Phillips screwdriver (standard should do) - cleaning spray - wet cloth - cleaning brushes or toothbrushes or anything else you can devise to get in nooks and crannies - - and a can of air and black Gorilla tape or something comparable. Remove the 6 screws (good luck), take the front off and clean it with warm water/spray/cleaning brushes, . . . use the wet cloth, brushes and can of air to remove dust from the blades and inside behind blades. When you are finished cleaning, put the front back on and secure it with the strong black tape and throw the little tiny useless screws away. You don't have to put the tape all the way around the seam, just about 6 or 7 small pieces strategically placed will work. I'm a female and I don't have all the necessary screwdriver tools to make it easy. I sweated an hour to get those tiny screws back in and tightened. Just could not do it. Next time I clean it, it will be a "breeze" to do!

You should absolutely not need 6 screws for this fan, it’s is so ridiculous and it’s impossible to clean, I just bought mine 5 days ago and the motor burned up because you can’t separate the blade from the motor to clean hair or anything. So stupid.

Dawg this fan actually sucks when it comes to cleaning. Like huge fatal flaw, had no issues until it came to getting the dust out… wish I could return the thing because truly this is the worst fan cleaning experience ever. Box fans for life cuh

The screws are too deep in narrow wells. Most screwdrivers are either too short or too thick to reach them. Bad design!
