Oh yeah, as others may have posted, you can move the motor on that V rail to give you the clearance needed for your drills. So that is not a detractor. Although it would have been nice to have a stronger motor, by speeding it down and applying more force, you accomplish the same thing as a slow cut. Plus, I have read that annular cutters prefer to be pressed pretty hard for optimum cutting so I think this actually works out if only by happenstance. After doing my research I really think this mag drill is the best thing on the market for someone that doesn't have a spare couple of $K laying around, and the Nitto-Kohki One-Touch is just too cool to pass up. Some have said they dont care, but that means they are just cutting the same hole all the time. If you are cutting different sized holes back and forth (most likely for the home or small shop) then this quick disconnect is going the be VERY appreciated, and with an adapter for also using Weldon Shank cutters, there is just no reason not to modernize with this cool new tech. (and NO I'm not a rep or sponsored or anything else, but do have one on the way ;-)
Thanks for all of your input. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I hope you are happy with the drill if you decide to get it.
The drill uses varible electronic speed control where when you apply pressure and bog it down it ramps up to return to set speed.
Thanks for the tips.
Robert - Excellent Tool Review. You covered it like a blanket . I learned a hell of a lot. you da man ! --- Jim
Glad it was helpful!
When I was farming, a drill like this one, a small disk grinder, some lights, a portable welder generator, and a few more tools I already had would have made field repairs go much faster. I could have also made a good deal of money dining overnight field repairs for others.
Very cool!
Good review
Thanks, Chuck. I am really glad you are doing so well.
Read the manual! You can adjust the height
Thanks. I thought the only height adjustment was the rack and pinion. I did not discover until later that there were further adjustments.
hy nice job there been looking into on of then but look at the 2 screws on the side of the head looks like you can lessen them and raes the head up more and then use the quil to lower it into your work pec I know the name bran has a 2 stage setup like that. hope you look into that some lol. but other then that for the money not bad at all
I didn't notice. I will definitely take a look. That would be a great find. Thanks.
@@DudleyToolwright right at 5min I see to be a number 2 or 3 pos drive screw on the moter side gray frame down close to the quil
On all but small tools I use 12 gauge cords you use anything smaller on bigger tools they'll run but you're gonna probably burn something up
Valid point. It was unintended. I used the cord I ran for the electronic indicators on my surface plate and forgot how small a gauge it was.
Man kann den Motor in der Höhe einstellen, so passen längere Bohrer auch.
Darüber war ich mir nicht im klaren. Danke.
damn Robert, that 18gauge lamp wire just cost you a bit of credibility. Who uses an 18g wire in the shop??? And who would use it on a high draw (potentially) tool? Get that lamp cord out of the shop, there's no place for it in there. Only 14g , 12g and heavier.
A 20 amp circuit requires 12 gauge. wire to perform correctly. Any size smaller and the wire will burn up before the circuit trips. Also the internal wiring looks too small IMHO.
@@robertlark7751 12g in the wall, not out of the outlet, a lamp does not require 12g.
its the load to be put on the cord.
This extension cord was run just for the surface plate and the electronic indicators readouts. I forgot that I had run such a small gauge wire there. It is plenty adequate for the use case, but dangerous when you forget...like I did. Your point about not even having such a light gauge cord in the shop is very reasonable. Thanks.
I would have like to see the amperage under load at low and high speed
Sorry about that. I did that measurement as an afterthought and was a bit rushed at that point.
It looks like you can adjust the height of the drill on the rail. But the way it stalls out I'd pass.
I couldn't make it stall at high speed and the correct extension cord, bur it did bog down significantly. I this you have made a decent point.
You could test if it's a magnetic switch by simply unplugging it while it's running. Better to do with two guys I guess.
That would have been a really smart and easy test. I wish I had thought of that. Thanks for the great suggestion!
Run out on a drill press or even mag drill .004 seems to be quit good to me
Interesting. I was not sure what to expect. I didn't expect it to be easily visible like it was.
I would always squirt a little oil at least.. if not coolant.
Point taken. thanks.
I think you just leave it on it's highest setting..
and if you want lower RPM's, just bear down on it harder. lol
That really summed it up. That was quite the humorous observation. I wish I had thought to say something like that.
Seems like everyone and his brother has got one of these to review. Let me guess, you "haven't been paid by Vevor", they just gave you a $400 drill for free.
It is true they sent me the drill to review free of charge, which I disclosed at the beginning of the video, but I attempted to be fair about the good and bad. On to of that, I already had a mag drill, so didn't need this one, but I was really interested to see if their quality had evolved over time, which it had.
You get what you pay for.
I wonder how long this drill will last.
definetly not for a pro. but for the occasional user, it's probably a good deal.
@@jsteifel That is what I was thinking.
It just depends. We need an AvE review to know for sure.
@@calholli The man formerly known as AVE? I stopped watching, lots of useless dribble. He jumped the shark.
@@jsteifel His useless drivel was always half the fun. lol
Running it dry😢 it’s why she left ya
I love that quote...
I'm not really sure what's going on but your about the 6th CZcams to have come into vevor products . At first I was interested in a tool they had but all of a sudden it was out of stock and they said they would probably not get it back. After doing some research I found that the company had very bad ratings and had been reported to the better business bureau. They had over 50 pages of complaints and a F rating and was asked by the better business bureau to respond to them and clean there business up but failed to respond. I personally will never do business with them. Just a heads up if you have not researched them.
That is really useful feedback. Thank you. I have purchased two tools from them and have had not issues at all, but that is a really small sample size.
Wow im impressed with boxing 😒😒😒 is this a tool review or box review. Wish people would stop this unvoxing crap
The unboxing part only takes a small part of the video. The point is to make sure that the tool ordered arrives intact.
