Very cool Tim ! I lived on Divisidero and Hayes, real close to this shop in 1986.. Leaving Oahu right now.. Here for a week. Back to Reno.. tonight ! If you are in The City, in the future, definitely check this store out.. Thanks !
Loved that footage. That memorial at the start was outstanding. Very clean record store. Great Vapors album. I use to have a lot of Commander Cody, good band. Love the Golden Gate Bridge drive.
That was very much in Steve Carlson style of travel footage.. It's so nice to document a family trip like that. First time for us to walk part of the Golden Gate Bridge ! I did pretty good for a power flip haul ! I started with the 5.00 records underneath, then noticed Jum and Sean came back, waiting. I could have stayed longer,but I already found these 12 nice records and made myself stop there ! Thanks, Steve.

Thanx for the video ! Mark Almond i love their cover of Billy Joel's New York state of mind .Van Morrison has a song named Snow in San Anselmo,i went there in 1994 but i didn't know,he bought to his parents a records store in this little town;still on in 1994,i really dunno !

It's pretty good, and so classic ! We copied the drum solo, those of us that played drums ! Very fun. and enjoyable trip.. 4 hours into San Francisco from Reno, and the same coming back ! Sean and Jum loved it, and... so did I. Cheers Cristian!

Tupelo Honey is one of my favorite Van Morrison albums. Real mellow, country rock vibe, great singer-songwriters album. Great video JT. Glad you and the family had a nice trip in San Francisco.

Agreed ! Glad to have any Electric Flag, and any Hendrix version of "Killing Floor" as well.. The story of how Hendrix scared E.C. off stage when Jimi got up onstage with The Cream, and proceeded to rip into a very fast "Killing Floor" that Eric couldn't handle.. That was Terry Reid's Telecaster that Jimi borrowed, they both knew each other, and I know Terry's wife to confirm this amazing story..
Great pick ups and I love the story at the top about them spinning a record for you. There's a store here in Detroit (Found Sound) that's like that. They'll put on whatever you ask for and it always leads to great conversations.
That makes for a great record store.. that's why I keep coming back to this one. Ultrasonic cleaning for every record is the big bonus. Thanks for checking this out. Cheers !

Punch The Clock is the one early Elvis albums I've been looking for. I have Aim through Get Happy. All of your pick ups looked in fantastic shape. Thanks for sharing
Steve McQueen was the very first thing I thought of. Some nostalgia is when Fonzie from Happy Days uses his hand as a magic midas touch on making things work the way he wants. I truly believe that he never got it from James Dean, instead he borrowed this from the king of cool, Steve McQueen. Remember when he doesn't have any coins for buying a newspaper from the box. Cooly light punch on the box and surprise a free newspaper.
I know Dan, that's what I think about every time I go up and down Fillmore Street and others up and down Pacific Heights ( the neighborhood where Bullit was filmed ). I am pleased with " Punch The Clock".. rarely see it wherever I look ! Happy with all of my other picks too !
@Walter Pen Hey Walter ! My first video 6 months ago .. I did a little mention. And showed the the cars that were in the film " Bullit".. overlays in my video. Most of the movie was shot around the corner in Pacific Heights ! Thanks for watching..

Get Happy is a great album. I need to get a clean copy of Tupelo Honey. Clear Spot is very accessible for a Beefheart record. The last time I played Now I was surprised at how good it is.
South Lake Tahoe is a favorite vacation spot.
Yeah.. Clear Spot is about my favorite of his, hope to run into a good copy of "Safe As Milk" I have it on Cd only.

Really think you will enjoy both ! Mark- Almond Band is very good, listened to them alot in the late 1970's. Shawn Phillips is great too, and both of these artists aren't too pricy to buy their records.. Thank you !
The price tag thing would drive me crazy. There are other ways. One shop I frequent in Rockford,IL, writes the pricing on the inside edge of the jacket in pencil. Another local shop puts tags on the outer protective sleeve. Just my 2cents. Enjoy your videos and look forward to them. Thanks for taking the time to make them

Hi JT. Some fantastic finds. I love EC's shipbuilding but I think I do prefer Robert Wyatt's version, his voice just adds another to the song. I have all Beefheart's studio releases and clear spot is one of my faves, absolutely love that album and what a great price you paid for it! I bought in a gadda da vida on cd over 30 years and then recently picked up a vinyl copy along with iron butterfly live from a local charity shop. Some great finds as always, enjoy 😊✌️
Will listen to Robert Wyatt's version right now. Was pleased to grab that " Clear Spot".. and 5.00.. what a record store ! Should have taken more time, but very happy with my haul. Could have spent 2 or 300 dollars easily.. time to sit back. and enjoy all of the beautiful records that I gave amassed in the last year ! Cheers Mark ! Thanks.

Beautiful copy of Tupelo Honey. Two of Elvis Costello's best albums. Nice clean copy of the Rolling Stones Now. Great prices on the lp's. I would expect albums to be quite pricey in a San Francisco record store. So glad you and your family had such a nice trip!! Don't buy anymore Mark-Almond albums until we chat again.
Ahh thanks Mark ! This store is a total find ! Might have him send me a copy of Them that I missed.. thought Jum and Sean went for ice cream, I looked over, and they were waiting.. I could have taken more time; they didn't care.. but left and right I scooped up those 12 record's. 112.00 for 12 records ! That Meat Puppets is sealed !
Great price on the Beefheart album, I bought the same one here in NYC for $20 a few weeks ago.

In 1987, I was the passenger in my younger brother's truck 🚛 when he suddenly cranked up that Gary Glitter arena anthem going up the Texas St. hill. At the top of the hill inside the liquor store 🏪, a woman saw me and screamed. Blood was dripping down from both ears. My brother had ruptured my eardrums with that friggin Gary Glitter song!! Ever since, I've experienced significant hearing loss in both sides. What I 🙉 hear constantly though is the sound of crickets, cicadas, and locusts chirping in the high wind. Tinnitus.
I was only 31.

The Record Store music was loud and didn't want a copyright claim to tag my video..must have turned the volume down for the whole thing. and not just that segment.. Again, some really nice finds, love those 80's finds, all classics and amazing. You are right, Squeeze just doesn't write weak songs. Big fan. I also love that Stacked Deck album, some great songs on that one. Same thing with Tupelo Honey, another perfect album. Weird coincidence...I just saw that Captain Beefheart album today, but I had to pass it up because it was way overpriced, and the copy and jacket was not that great. They wanted $40 for it. Meat Puppets ... great buy! All excellent finds.
Could not believe the " Clear Spot" price.. 5.00 NM condish ! The record is beautiful 180 at least gram on the old Reprise label. Love that store ! Thanks TCat !! Will look to get another Meat Puppets on vinyl, sometime soon..
Glad to see you got a nice copy of Tupelo Honey. That’s my mother’s fav Van record. You know I’m a huge fan. I was shocked that you passed on the Them record in the new arrivals section. The record Backtracking is a nice Comp that has some tough to find Van songs. Maybe you already had it?

Hey Brian ! Had to do a power dig !! My wife and Boy came back real quick, and were waiting ! So it was a grab and go ! Last time I was there .. I called the owner and had him send me 3 records that I left behind.. ( HP Lovecraft ) I'm gonna go back and see ( on my video ).. the Them Record you saw.. I totally missed it and was bargain shopping, somewhat.. I love that Van, and still need " St Dominic's " !! See you Brian..

@Nick Shepherd I'm laughing ! It was a total blast ! Kai was our singer/ songwriter.. he wrote real good songs in the 90's. You might have heard me say, his Dad was Gene Clark, of The Byrds ! We didnt sound like anybody, and needed a producer to dial us in further in the studio. Alice In Chains, Ggo Goo Dolls, and Sublime, might be a semi close way to describe our sound..Omaha sounds nice ! Tuco is from there, and Hanna too !
... and then they took a walk through the Tenderloin!

Very great, Chris.. wish I would have gone to more shows in the 90's. I was busy playing in an original alt rock band myself, though.. Mary Underground between San Diego and Lake Tahoe. My friend Kai has all the rights, so there isn't much online of us.. It's cool ! I have all the studio work digitally, anyway. Yeahdidn't make many shows. The singer from Third Eye Bling used to hang with us and support us.. fantastic guy.. forget his name. ( 1997 )... Cheers, Chris !
More great stuff JT Meat puppets hard to find on vinyl. I’ve got ‘Heuvos’(good) and Monsters (not so good) Punch The Clock is ok, but has ‘Shipbuilding’ & ‘Everyday I write..’ which are superb. ‘Get Happy’ is superb. The U.K. press had a pre-distressed sleeve that looked like ring wear! I think I showed it on one of my eighties videos.
Agreed on all counts.. would like to find Meat Puppets II..I have a ton of Elvis C on Cd..do like adding more , and not to be a completest, that's too much work !! Thanks for watching.. volume was low on this one, turning it up seemed to work alright... Cheers Harris !!
Hi Harris. Have you heard Robert Wyatt's version of shipbuilding? I do love EC but I do prefer Robert Wyatt's version. His voice just fits the song so perfectly.

did you take the tour of Alcatraz how far away is it from original vinyl? or did you only do it when you were a kid?
On that last " Originals Vinyl" video, we sailed around the island.. I never wanted to take the tour. The history is interesting, and I believe 2 of the inmates did escape ! Alcatraz is strait off the bay , and then 1.5 miles out ? I am guessing..
All of those early Dirty Harry films were shot in San Franciso, and " Play Misty For Me" partially, and Monterey, Ca.
