  • The cheap nylon gear inside the #bafang #bbshd motor can handle so much until it's useless. The gear failed, and left my #buzzraw stranded. This is a quick replacement video.

    Awesome *Red* grease - looks like Mobil-28.

    What other BBSDH failures have you experienced personally? And what did you do about them?

    Also is that a 120mm bbshd or 100mm bbshd?

    Try to be in the lowest or biggest cog in the rear most often. Heard people who has the bbshd save their nylon gears by having proper gear ratio. Like 48t chainring and 48t cog. 1:1 ratio.

      Thanks for the tip. I have a 48t in the front, not so much in the rear. I love the torque but prefer the speed

      Uh, I tend to do that when my knees/legs give out. Usually 2nd from bottom gives a satisfactory pace (10-15mph) - as if I’m that tired, I’d best slow down some.
      Note: my chainring is 42 tooth, and the bottom gear on the cassette is 42 tooth also. I geared with the idea of bad hills and heavy (trailer-towing) loads. Pedaling tops out at about twenty mph.

    Recently got the HV kit and the kit says to avoid going over 131F. Were you running it over 131F for extended period of time/?

    • @phnomnolimits
      @phnomnolimits  Před 10 měsíci

      Never reached or passed 120F with these nylons. I finally got a peek from HV and it has been solid with temp up to 141F. I understand its not bullet proof but it is much more reliable than peek for sure.

      @@phnomnolimits wow now im worried lol. Ive been going over 113F consistently going full throttle on short periods.

      @@phnomnolimits from the teardown I did not see any putty over the temp sensor. You must have false readings on 120F with the wind possibly cooling it.

      Not at all. Just regular riding under 120F.
