There is literally a song called C.A.N.C.E.R... They definitely all knew what was going on and were obviously friends for him through his treatment and death...

They are kings of the genre and they are amazing people and Tom is a legend, R.I.P this band is so emotional, you dont just listen to them, you feel them. You have to check out the Holy Ghost documentary, it’s an amazing look into their comeback after dealing with Toms death. And the live shot video of this song is legitimately tear jerking... it’s absolutely amazing to see how much he’s missed and loved in just that 4-5 min span of time at the end of the documentary.
