Glover Teixeira is one of my favorite fighters of all time! And I hope Glover Teixeira will be able to get another shot at the title with the proper opponent. I agree with Glover Teixeira as far as having ample time to properly train for specific opponents that he is matched up with. Especially at this point of his illustrious career! Glover Teixeira is definitely a future UFC Hall of Famer! And deserves all the respect in the world for all of his achievements in MMA!

The thing is whenever there are changes/last minute switches, the disadvantage exists for both fighters. Glover saying no to Ankalaev says he thinks he's at a worse disadvantage or needs more prep time than Ankalaev needs for him. It's absolutely the right ufc call for Ankalaev to be in a title fight given his contender run, so I don't think there's disrespect here. And I say that as a Glover fan, and with general dislike towards ufc business decisions

It doesnt matter, Glover was in the title fight, he didnt need to be removed. Period. If you say that Jiri was the reason, then remember Glover also have him the shot without necessarily being deserving (not more than Rakic and Ankalaev at the time). Glover also 43 yo, former sparring partner of Chuck Liddel, and so much more. UFC is afraid of Glover winning then retiring, which is probably gonna happen If he wins or loses. Its the mans last fight. Bisping held the division two times fighting Henderson and GSP and avoiding Romero. Is Bisping more deserving than Glover? Cmon

To be fair, Glover only got the title shot because Jiri called for it, although hey might had booked the rematch regardless because their first fight was so good. Glover vs Ankalaev would be a much better fight than Jan vs Ankalaev because Glover never backs up and never gives up, and Dana tried to give it to him. They need a main event for that UFC and can't postpone it. They need Ankalaev in there to draw interest. Unfortunately, Glover might never get another shot if Jan wins.
Finally someone who talks sense and understand UFC 's side. But I think Glover will get Jan fight without any hassle because he already has a win over Jan. Also Jiri is not coming back anytime soon, probably an year.

@@frankl1378 naah not even Rakic. I agree Rakic was looking good against Jan but technically he lost his last fight. So he won't get it. Also he probably is also on a long layoff. It's very unlikely it'll be anyone else other than Glover. Although Anthony Smith is fighting Jamahal Hill but that's not a #1 contender fight. Winner of that might face Ryan Spann or Rakic. Or Ryan Spann vs Rakic.

UFC chose Jan vs Ankalaev because Glover might retire in 2023 or 2024 but Ankalaev would be still around for the next 5 years. It's better to build up for the future than present.
I don't think Glover has much to be disappointed because Jiri is not coming back anytime soon, so whoever wins he will get the next shot at it. Yeah it may come 4-5 months delayed. But I think he should've taken the fight. It wasn't like Ankalaev was preparing for Glover. He also had a different opponent. As Khabib says, champion should always be ready for any opponent.
There are differences.Ankalaev was preparing for Jan who has same style like Glover. But Glover was preparing for Jiri who has totally different style from Ankalaev. And Ankalaev is a southpaw.
