    Best of seven series again!
    SPOILERS FOR VIDEO BELOW
Not just any Hunters but Myriad versus the Marines armed with various weapons.
Round 1 goes to Myriad, an unsurprising victory to the miniboss. Myriad leads series 1-0.
Round 2, Marines are far more aggressive and concentrated in their firepower. They don't try to punch, they don't act suicidal, they simply hold the line and conduct suppressive fire. But Myriad, on the brink of death, goes on a rampage, wiping out the Marines, only to die right as Myriad kills the last Marine. A shocking draw. But I will give it to the Marines for actually killing Myriad. Marines tie series 1-1 by default.
But this series is not won by draws. Round 3 proves that. It is short and futile for the Marines who lose to Myriad effortlessly. Myriad leads series 2-1.
Round 4, Marines are far more aggressive but it is still not enough. Myriad, just like prior rounds, charges and melees the remaining Marines, another blowout win. Myriad leads series 3-1.
Round 5 is short but shockingly east for the Marines, who survive the loss with better weaponry and concentrated firepower. Marines win, 3-2, survive yet another for or die outcome.
Round 6, once again do or die for Marines. And once again another quick win due to better weaponry. Marines not only beat Myriad, they tie series 3-3, forcing a decisive Round 7.
Round 7, goes back and forth, blow by blow. Tit for tat. But despite their tenacity and courage, the Marines fall to Myriad's overwhelming durability and speed.
    Myriad wins series 4-3.

because most of the time Chief is fighting with them and that they're behind cover when defending F.O.B's. When you play as chief their basic role is to provide covering fire and harass the enemy while you go close in on them. at least, that's what they're programmed to do

    • @wumbosaurus9121
      @wumbosaurus9121 Před 2 lety +2

When the Lekgolo form a colony they become neurally linked to one another, essentially acting as one organism, such as the Mgalekgolo. To make sounds, certain Lekgolo in the colony would move and vibrate against one another at varying speeds and frequencies to control pitch, volume, tone etc. Hearing a Hunter would be quite the pants shitter. I imagine the sheer bass of the vibrations would quake the ground and cause your body to shake intensely. It could probably be comparable to a lions roar, though likely far more intense and unusual due to their size and how varied the organisation of worms could be

You should do this on legendary just to see how stupidly strong the lock on in for their rapid fire. It's literally undodgable.
That gives me an idea you should do myriad/hunter officer or whatever vs Banished vehicles like ghosts, banshees, choppers, maybe even wraiths, and put that on Legendary just to show how overpowered they are
If there's a way to decrease/ turn off the damage multiplier for legendary you can just so the vehicles don't die in 1 volley (because they will)
And if you need somewhere to set it up the lake around fob Lima might be big enough to suite the vehicles, or if you wanna get real creative you can go to the large island by the House of Reckoning with the giant lake and see if the ai can function normally over there because that's more than big enough

Honestly this video shows a lot of problems with not just how bad the marine ai actually is at basic combat but also in the Hunter's as well. There are several instances where you see a hunter charge in mere feet from the enemy only to stand there awkwardly for a few seconds before backing up to shoot. There's absolutely no reason why a Hunter should charge in like that if they don't do a melee attack. Its almost like they're still programmed like the old Hunter's to charge and engage enemies up close but because something in Infinite limits how often their ai can actually preform a melee attack they just stand there unable to do anything. That or they'll just shoot you with explosives from inches away as if there's no such thing as splash damage which honestly I just find stupid programming.
They also rarely use their shield in any sort of actual defensive way basically just letting themselves get shot to hell with almost no effort to protect their weak spots. The only time I noticed a hunter shielding its head from incoming fire was once it was already almost dead and berserking. And marines have complete aimbot with especially sniper weapons and they will almost exclusively shoot the head and neck area of a hunter facing them *(I've actually checked after a group of 3 marines i had with skewers and snipers killed the hunters around the Catch skull, the only visible damage i could find anywhere on the dead hunters was a dark mark on the lower left part of their neck. The rest of their armor was completely unscaved)*
In Reach the Hunter's would always automatically raise their shield over their head whenever they got shot but here they act like they don't care until they're dead
    And as for the marines....
-they don't seem to understand the concept of cover, possibly mistaking crouching in the middle of the open to be enough. To contrast marines in Reach would almost never step out of cover, often staying in the wall hugging animation until they were forced to move due to Covenant advancement or death
-they definitely don't know what evading is, that or they just think a flying red ball of flaming plasma raining down on them won't hurt, hell even in Halo 4 the marines would constantly attempt to jump out of incoming hunter fire but here they just stand there and die.
    - literally the only thing they do in combat from what I've observed in my playthroughs is them standing still, they barely move around at all, rarely ever dodge anything, and just point and shoot at the enemy. Hell I had a time when messing around with a disabled grunt near my fob *(by disabled I mean his ai wasn't exactly active at all so he couldn't fight or move or react to anything at all and he'd basically just stand there and let me push him around)* and even when I showed a marine patrolling the FOB the grunt and then pushed him just a bit out of sight *(literally on one of the ramps leading up to the FOB, the marine standing near the vehicle ramp)* all the dude would ever do was shoot a mag at the corner where he last had visual on the grunt, then stand there hunched over just staring at the corner waiting for the grunt to pop back out. He made absolutely no attempt whatsoever to straif, switch cover, go and search for the grunt literally standing braindead around the corner, or move at all in any way from the spot he was standing when he saw the enemy. Every time I pushed the grunt out for a second he'd do the exact same thing, wait for me to get out of the way, shoot right at the corner where he saw me push the grunt back to cover, and then stand there, only ever moving when I grapple pounded the ground near him in order to force him to actually do something without him trying to follow me
By far the most boring and lifeless marines in the series in terms of combat behavior. Like even the jackals move around and take cover more often than marines do...

@@jamesvincentdones6919 myriad IS a boss lmao I think you're talking about a different hunter. But Myriad is a boss that you encounter in the open world. You know, the HVT's or high valued targets that you need to kill. They're like mini bossess or the elite of the elite in the banished faction. I think the goal of Halo Infinite is that Chief, like the man that he has always been, changes the tide of battle whenever he's in the playing field. he has always done so in the books. I think in this case, taking out the generals or elites is Chief's way of making the banished realized they're not so high and mighty anymore and killing them lowers their morale
