How to Make a Catch Game in Scratch | Tutorial

- Let’s make a Catch Game in Scratch! With this tutorial, you’ll be able to make a game where objects are falling from the sky, and you catch them to score points.

To add some flare and difficulty to the game, make a new variable called "gravity", in all of the parts that return the object to the top, add a "set gravity to 0". In the movement script, put the gravity variable in the "change y by ()", making it "change y by ((gravity))". After the change y, put a "change gravity by (-1).
Y = Gravity
I got another idea: you can make an enemy that you shouldn´t catch, and if you catch it. you lose.

And what I added different was that I made lives, a death screen, badges, fruits spawn faster and faster overtime, different fruits, and bombs! My project wouldn’t exist without this so thank you :)! It’s called “Catch the fruit! (My first game)”

If you want to, where you have the if y position is 180 and the of touching bowl you can put a switch costume to pick random 1 to (amount of costumes) and add more costumes to make it something different each time.
but i'm confused about the code 😔

I need help. I added more objects to catch but I want the objects to come down one-by-one instead of all of them coming down at once. How do you do that? Also the objects need to be changed randomly.

I've made quite a lot of catching games the past 9 years. It's so planted into muscle memory that I can put one together in minutes.

Hi Zinnea! I loved this tutorial, but you didn’t mention what to do if the Apple doesn’t touch the bowl. I already know how to do this, but I know some new players don’t! So for any new player, here is what to do.
If (y position > (10-30 y under your catcher)) then
Stop all

How can I do when the object which falling from the sky is touching the flour game its over?
In the falling category, I’ve done everything correct. But it seems like the go to random position is overtaking the set y to and keeps going to completely random positions.
Maybe you can rewatch the video really closely, that will help.

Me 2, I actually quit scratch and started scripting bc I couldn't find any good tutorials
I tried to create a catch banana game without a button and it was really fantastic but when I add the sprite button to go to the next backdrop and play , the monkey moves correctly . On the other side , there were many problems to programm the falling down of the banana.

make it so after you hit a certain score the apple changes by -10 maybe like that
yes, u need to make a variable and name it Apple Speed, then u can make that every x seconds add to "Apple speed" 5, so u make that apple speed set to that variable. i hope u understand

Also, you don't have to move the catcher with arrow keys, you can also do it with the mouse pointer
