  • I will be installing the Ground and Bonding system for my new Ham Shack for Ham Radio. I will have a special guest that swings by the help me out with the power tools. I planned this out so much that I didn't experience too many issues, unlike the last part. Driving in those ground rods in the Texas soil. Let me know if i missed something.

That done correct. 2 clamps on the house ground rod and you put the clamps on right. #6 or #4 stranded bare copper would be better but the cost. now later if you had to add a outher ground wire just get a outher ground clamp and connect it just like house ground. it is ok to have 2 or more clamps per ground rod. only 1 wire in a clamp . now if you get a ground surge it will be out side your home. letting the surge in can start a fire. remember to have single point ground for your radio system. and that connects to that same ground you put in. lots of video's on you tube on how to do that. havening a good ground also helps noise floor .nice you help Jason Ham radio 2.0 . you will learn a lot ! 73's

Hey Frank, if I'm in town, glad to come over and help, most roofs don't bother me. One of next videos can you include any kind of measurable test of the grounding system?

I didn't know you could measure the effectiveness of a ground system. I love to learn how.

I'm working on a similar grounding project. I was wondering how I'd get all of those ground rods in, now I know the right tool to rent. I could still have some problems with hitting rock at my West Virginia QTH, but, I won't know until I try.

I am a electrician in NY . hitting rock is common. if mist of the way in bend it over below grade. also may have go put a outher rod in if does not go in far. stranded wire #6 or #4 bare is better but the cost. use correct clamps like in video . they are UL approved and the right one put on correctly. watch this video. that is the right way to clamp wire to ground rod and to home ground rod. 2 clamps.

I like the idea of it, but I'd need to check if that is legal to do in my area. Either way, it will help your gear. :)

Won't a ground wire that long become a radiating element??? 🤔🤔

U must be careful not to cause a ground loop .. inalways try to keep very short runs from my main tower to ground rod ...
